I havn't been a big fan of distortion. But recently, i've been turning up the gain just enough on my amp so that I can hit those pinch harmonics. It is really fun to match a squeel with a new guitar player and see them stop and ask how you did it.
Easy too, just pop the string, add a little palm mute, and bend for effect. Practice a little and you should have it.
