I asked my parents once...
me: mom... can I marry chinese man?

mom: well if you really,REALLY... love...LOVE HIM then yes >:U

Okay, all this racist conflict occurs only because of one's mentality.
It depends on how people think and how people view situations at time to time. You see, Koreans are pretty sensitive and I'd admit that myself because I, myself, am very sensitive about things. ^^ (No offense to any fellow Koreans) Well, Koreans, I think, tend to protect their culture as they are and they don't like other cultures influencing them. Like the way, I disagree with Japanese products and the claim of our land Dok-do. (This is only my opinion, don't sue me! crying ) Now, as you are a half Korean, you should have lost some of your sense of Korean nature. I think that is why people disagree about you and again, all these depends on one's decision and choice. I just hope you would just go along with someone else who could have more respect for you. I live abroad and I don't make friends with Koreans because of these reasons too. I have been discriminated like you once, so don't be so blue! ^^ blaugh

Yeah, my mom and dad are kinda like that too. They say they'd prefer it if I married someone korean. My mom sometimes pushes it further and talks about how if I don't, my children will be shunned as half-koreans. (xD Inuyasha...)

Oh my gosh eek ...I personally have never seen a racist Korean before. XP I am 100% Korean, but I really don't care what kind of race my friends are. I'm sorry that other pure Koreans have treated you that way... sweatdrop That's so mean... xp
Well, I kind of didn't notice that Asian parents want their children to keep the line "pure." I've barely noticed anything. sweatdrop But, my parents aren't like that. My mom has always told me that she doesn't care who I like or who I want to marry. If I really love him, then I should marry him. She said she didn't care whether he was Korean or not. Just if he had any tattoos or piercings. xd So, my parents aren't strict about the race of the person I might date/marry (Not sure about my father though...), but they won't let me date until I'm 21. XD Before, they told me and my brothers 18, but then when I was like, a teenager, my mom suddenly told me I couldn't date until I'm 21. Though the age limit for my brothers (1 cool hasn't changed at all. sweatdrop And because of this strict rule, I don't think I even want to date now. xd

Sometimes I even think that my mom doesn't like Korea very much...Sometimes I think I sense she's annoyed when I'm doing something involving something Korean. She doesn't seem very happy when I mention I want to learn how to speak it...I just wonder why she doesn't seem to want to involve Korean things in my life...^^;; She used to even always talk about "Do you guys have only Asian friends? Don't have just Asian friends, make a variety! You have to be friends with everyone! Even if in the school there are the Asian, Black, White, etc. groups, you can't let yourself be pulled by them! You need to be friends with anyone you want to be friends with and not just go into an "Asian" group just because you're Asian too." And she'd lecture me and my brothers about that and would tell us not to watch the Chapelle Show because they talk about such racial things. I mean, I'm really glad that she doesn't care about the race I'm friends with or go out with. ^^ I really am very, very happy about that. But, how come I feel like she doesn't like Korea? sad Korea wasn't really involved much in my life until my friend introduced DBSK to me...Then I just started to find so much more about my culture and found it all really interesting. ^^ So that's why I want to learn Korean so badly and want to visit Korea some day.
If anything I have said may have insulted you in any way (Though I wouldn't know what. sweatdrop ) I am really REALLY sorry... crying

In my opinion...
American Koreans aren't that racist.
People who live in korea are only used to koreans around them so they can tend to be uncomfortable around other races.
So people like American Koreans who have lived in the U.S. and experienced other races tend not to be too racist.
But of course I think everyone is a little racist.

There was a Korean exchange student in my town for a while, and he was really good friends with my sister. They did it playfully, but they'd always make fun of the other for being either full of half Korean (my sister and I are half).
confused I never really thought about it until now, but that's a really weird thing to bring up unless he had been thinking about that from the start.

I know how it feels to grow up and be treated like the plague by full koreans and full whites. It's horrible when you're half because...you don't belong anywhere...
