Flushing angrily at Thorn's words - and the truth that his body had certainly enjoyed it, yes. The second time...well, it had been physically pleasurable, but there was too much emotional turmoil to say he had 'enjoyed' it.

But the fact that he had enjoyed the physical aspect, well...that just reminded him of that ever present shame, the guilt, that had been his constant companion since the maze.

"I didn't want it. I still don't want it!"

Straining against Thorn, still trying to get free - at least get his hands free - he certainly wasn't stopping just because his anger was being replaced by other emotions.

It frightened him, how easily Thorn was able to cause such emotions in him - fear and frustration, given rise by simply a word or two. Hadrian hated that one person could have so much power over him...especially when it was someone he hated.

Thorn was laughing as he leaned him. Partially to bring himself closer, to unnerve the mage who was standing before him. "You will." he said, his voice full of the intent a man might show his favorite project. "I'll have you begging me."

His eyes drifted half shut, gleaming behind lashes that seemed to do nothing to hide how he felt. This was fun. What made it so exciting was that this man seemed to have none of the love Thor knew Hadrian could feel.

It made it a concoction that he couldn't resist.

Not for long.

"I could use force, and have you beg me." he said, matter of fact. "Be gentle. Introduce things you've never done." he smirked.

"Because you will want it."

Unnerve him? Oh, Thorn had succeeded in that by far. And when he spoke next, it was with all the desperation, frustration, fear, of a man floundering and unsure of what to do.

Because nothing he said worked. And he couldn't get away, couldn't get his hands free...

"No matter what you do, I'm never going to want you, or go in search of you. You could make me beg - you could force me to physically enjoy it - but I will never want you."

Vehement and fierce, the words were.

And while they could be true, it had already been proven how simple it was for Thorn to twist and toy with Hadrian's emotions.

But that wasn't now. And hopefully, wasn't the future.

Thorn smiled. It was aggressive as he looked into the mage's eyes, and he nodded once. Shortly, as if he knew this was what he would say. Maybe not the percise words, but the protest. The anger and heat behind it all. And it pleased him.

That too, was obvious.

"That's fine with me, Hadrian." he said. "If you want to fight, it only makes the game more fun." he smirked. "Who will you go run to then, the other mages? They won't understand. Your little friends?" he laughed. Some of the people here didn't seem to like him.

But they would be nothing to worry about. They were only people, no one powerful enough to dissuade him or dominant enough to distract him. "I won't hurt you, not really." he said, whispering the words close to the man's ear.

He smiled. Not really. Because he didn't want to lie.

"Or will you go run to Marc, then?" he mused. His gaze fastened on the man's face to see how he would react. The mage did look terrible- in an odd, entrancing way wilted flowers might have an appeal. "I didn't have to do anything with that one."

He found pleasure in the torment of others. And this was one mage who he could find the pleasure with.

At the mention of Marc, Hadrian's expression changed.

Stricken. That was the perfect word to describe it, the pain at even thinking or hearing mention of Marc.

And what could he say to the rest of it..? Nothing. The other mages wouldn't understand. His 'friends' wouldn't understand - Natalie was the closest to understanding, but he didn't want her more involved in this.

"Nothing to do with it..?" even with the pain of it, anger also roared up again. "Nothing? You caused it!"

The fury hid that pain again, though it was still present. Hidden but easily spotted for one who knew it was there.

If Hadrian had been able to move, he likely would have been shaking. Because he was terrified and furious, and just wanted Thorn to leave.

Thorn smiled.

"I ******** you."

He said, the three words simple, emotionless.

"But you did me too. Do you think I went to tell on you, Hadrian? because I didn't." his expression was grim, but inside, he was delighted. Did this mean that Marc hadn't told Hadrian the entire story?

"You should have kept an eye out for your surroundings, Hadrian." he said, lightly. "He saw YOU come out of the maze. I didn't tell him anything. It was he who did the talking."

It was true. The drinks had been enough to imbibe the strong man, and he hadn't stopped.

"You caused it, not me. I was only the " and he said a crude, crude word.

"But it never would have happened, not like that, if you hadn't..."

Hadn't pursued him? Stalked him into a maze? A million different things he could say, but nothing seemed right. The worst part was that Hadrian agreed with Thorn - it was his own fault.

Turning his head to the side so that he didn't have to continue to look at Thorn, he spoke again. One word, filled with frustration and pain.

"Why?"

Why did Thorn continue to chase him? Why was he even interested in Hadrian? Why wouldn't he just leave?

A million different why's, and he was asking them all with one.

Thorn smiled. And it was, in it's own way, tender.

"Because I care about you." was the simple way. If the mage would not expand on his own questions, if he would only give him a single word to work with, then he would interpret it in his own way, use it, mold it, and give him an answer just as uneasy.

He didn't try to turn his head, and his grip didn't loosen, but he shifted. Gently, away.

"I do." he said, amused at the mage in front of him.

Cared for in his own way. A pet, a toy that never stopped surprising him. A tool. But you could care for it, the same way a certain colonal sanders could care for his chicken.

Hadrian surprised himself with a bitter laugh, at those words.

"If you 'cared', we wouldn't be in this position right now."

He felt ill. What was it about Thorn that confused him so much? How could the man throw him off so easily, frustrate and terrify him? It didn't make any sense.

"If you cared, you wouldn't continue to chase after me when I've made it clear I want nothing to do with you."

The one thing he could say about Thorn, the one thing that didn't change - was that he hated him. He hated him for pursuing him, for Marc, for so many different reasons.

Hadrian was adorable.

And Thorn said just that.

"I do it because I care." not in the way a man might for a woman of course, but in this way, it made it more special.

And he laughed. This? This was getting ridiculous. And he was going to go put something on his face.

"Marc waited, you know." he said. "He waited for you to come by and explain, waited for something. Because the entire night he didn't mention it once. Didn't ask me what happened, didn't ask me anything, not for my side, my story. He waited for you to come back to listern to you first."

Thorn knew the buttons to press, and he did so ruthlessly.

"So blame yourself."

((thorn leave next?))

((Unless he plans on doing something more, then sure xD))

It was a random motion that Hadrian shut his eyes, shutting them to keep tears from leaking out. He really had been the one who had ruined things.

Because he hadn't explained anything. He had just stood there, didn't try to explain - didn't try to fix it. So as much as it hurt to admit it, he had to at least admit it to himself

Thorn was right.

It was astonishing, how quickly Hadrian went from ready to rip Thorns' throat out and fighting, to just feeling such worthlessness and not fighting at all.

Thorn smiled. Happy with this, satisfied. So he patted the man on the cheek. Gently, as if rewarding a boy who had done what he had wanted. And Hadrian had, in his own way.

And he left. As quickly as he could, in case Hadrian came after him. In case he lost his own control.

In case...

of anything else.

As Thorn left, Hadrian sank down to the ground, against the desk. His expression was one of pain, his eyes still wide.

He pulled his legs up to his chest - much like a little child, attempting to comfort oneself. And once there, he hid his face in his hands. But even hiding it, the shaking shoulders and occasional muffled sob showed exactly what he was doing.

In the course of one meeting, short as it was, Hadrian had gone from 'recovering', from 'angry'...to once again being filled with guilt and shame.
