Well, anyway, i was looking through the rp's and i said: "Aww, how did you make that ball of fire?" gonk i want to know! Or, explain how you made that ice pillar...

And i said: "I know! it's because not everybody knows martial arts!"(which are the majority of bending's bases.) So, i made this little thread to just show everyone! i don't have the time, Expertise, or tolerance to get screen caps, and explain every movement(Because I am not a master of all martial arts, in fact, im only a decent Tai chi martial artist.) So, i've found a bunch of video's to help everybody! Well, actually i did it cuz i was bored....

Water Bending:

If you don't have Tai Chi training, then you could be at a loss for bending moves, and instead of saying:

#1
after deflecting the physical attack the fire bender had made, he sunk into his horse stance, taking a deep breath, he blocked an invisble blow to his head, with a sweeping of his left hands the water in the spring sprung up and hit the fire ball, sideways, extinguishing it harmlessly, his horse switched to a cat stance quickly, aligning his feet, so that all his weight was on his back, and his left foot was firmly on the floor, his heel raised. He pulled his hands back, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath, slowly pushed his palms forward, imagined himself dispelling ice, the projectiles that the firebender's assistant had thrown fell on the ground infront of him, frozen, and useless.

Wow... what a block of text.... It would be so much easier just so....

#2
seeing the Fireball coming, he pulled a stream of water from the lake, making it fly and hit the fire ball, then he turned, closed his eyes, and let out a freezing breath, the weapons were useless now.

Hmm, i am very much tempted to do #2 as it didn't take me 6 minutes to type... But, hey, im being literate, im describing what i'm doing, and i'm enriching the rp experience, so hey.

Ya gotta remmber kids, you can't always melt/bury every attack with just a: he made a wall of dirt, keeping the fire balls from reaching him.

That's just not fun... what if he spent like... 20 minutes typing a barrage of blows, and you blocked it all in one move? remember, theres just so much one person can do when bending, think about the time it would take to make all these movements to get the fire to move right...

So, any ways... not like im trying to make a rp guide... (Thought its starting to look it...) Heres a vid. to watch, that will give you guys some cannon attacks. Curtesy of You tube.

Various compiled images of Waterbending.

And here is the bases of Water bending, Waterbender's watch. everyone else... *shrug*

Creating the Legend of Water Bending: Tai Chi

Here are some pics that i want to explain some more. (Will input words later)

User ImageIn this movement, you bring your hands up from your waist, to your shoulders. Breathing in as you go up, and breathing out as you settle into the stance.

User ImageHere, is a fun movement, in the 'twelve movements' form, this is one of the motions. I do beleive Waterbending is a mix-and-match of Taichi's movements. Meaning that, rare is it (For me) to find a waterbender going through the motions of a form. This is a simple form where you turn into a T-horse (Done by moving one of your foots horizontally, to make a 'T' with your feet.) Move one hand to your waist, and send the other one into your opponent.

FUNFACT: Taichi Is the 'gentle fist' style of Kungfu, The Hyuuga(From naruto) style of 'Gentle fist' Was derived fromsome martial art in China (I hope it is Tai Chi) I like to imagine myself as a Hyuuga when I go through the forms, because it's an open palmed strike.

User Image At the end of, 'the waterbending master' Pakku says: 'your late' And goes into the 'Holding the ball stance' which Katara and Aang both drop into it as well. The Chi ball is a common visualization, where you pull energy/Chi out of the ground, and into your fingertips. Usually, you would mold the ball yourself. However you want. But in this case, they just switch into the stance. As the name implies. I Rp Taizen as pulling a glob of water out of the nearest source, and holding it like a ball. In Tai Chi, As you move, you release, and move your Chi through the air. Making Visualization an important, and easy factor of Waterbending/Taichi. Pretty simple, neh?

Note: Tai Chi is 50% Hard and 50% Soft.

UBER NOTE: I DID NOT MAKE AMV'S! gonk

I'm sorry everyone, it just occured to me that you guys thought I made the AMV's. I'm sorry, but I don't have the tech to do that. Firstly THe most I can hope for isdoing one on Windows Media player. And I am afraid to download music onto my computer for fear of viruses. I find amvs/waterbending related videos on Youtube, and post them here. For other Rpers' benefit.

*Not finished.*

Earthbending:

I'm not going to get into this, Here are some links for earthbending videos. Watch them, And note they're movements.

Earthbending Creating the Legend: Hung Bar

Various Compiled Images Of Earth bending
More Earth Bending

Firebending:

Basically the Same as above.

Various Compiled Images of Fire Bending

I would like to make a note: I've noticed that firebenders don't like to defend against attacks. In an Agni Kai deflecting attacks would obviously hurt, (Firebenders are only human) So, the way to win an Agni Kai, is to be the one attacking more than defending. A firebenders defense, is a very strong offense.

Airbending:

Basically the same as above. When bending, make circular motions. This is 'Apparently' Key to airbending.

Creating the legend of Airbending: Ba Gua

Here's another little Waterbending thing, it's a post That I made. This is only for MY Rpc, so it's not like i'm making Rules, This is just how my Character's healing works razz

Taizen nodded his head expectantly. "Yes... My legs..." He had expected a battle of wills, and against Niima Taizen had a small chance of winning. A small chance of winning since he had promised to protect her, and effectively failed. But, what he heard next surprise him: A compromise. Taizen could have kissed Niima for her intelligence, intelligence that always seemed clearer, purer, and more empathic.

"Of course..." Taizen said slowly, beginning to smile, he looked up to see Niima's sweet intelligent face. Imagine his surprise when Niima brought her hand up and brushed his hair aside. The confidence in her action was broken and revealed in the swiftness as she retracted her hand as though she’d been caught in an act worthy of death. Looking in Taikai’s direction. The man did seem to be sleeping, but sleeping so that he seemed so content…

“I’ll stop… Before I pass that point.” He promised. The table was an arm’s length away, the idea of bending something a few moments ago had seemed as likely as the earth imploding. Now, after Niima brushed his hair away, he had somehow grown a well of energy in himself. The well of energy boosted his confidence. He reached out to the bowl, and with barely a twitch of his un-harmed fingers: bended the water into a glove.

Now Taizen has spent a good deal of time healing himself, and very little healing others. From his experiences in healing, either each healing was different, or the acceptance of the healing energies into the body affected the healing process. As Taikai had mentioned, inner wounds could be healed by calling upon both the healers energies, and the patients own healing energies. He’d healed the boy from the tournament’s inside wounds with a bit of trouble, but not as much as he would have thought. Probably because the boy had lost consiousness, and was as such nothing more than a plant.

Then there was his own self, which he easily and freely healed himself. He assumed the reason he felt his healing as of late was hollow, and weak, was because he was straining his own healing energies; rather than calling on more than one. Then there was Fulgar, for some reasons outside of Taizen’s understanding, Fulgar had resisted his healing. As though his body did not want to be healed. This led Taizen to release more of his own energies, rather than Fulgar’s bodies. In return, Taizen emptied himself, and in simple diffusion, because he was empty, Fulgar had placed things in Taizen, specifically pain of the healing.

Finally, There was Taikai, he had given him insight, specifically Targeting Taikai’s healingenergies and his own, he had healed him with relative ease. The only problem being that he seemed to be running quite on empty at the time of healing. Finally, he was about to heal Niima, it was wrong to think of it as such- and at the moment, Taizen was not thinking of it as such- but it seemed that Taizen was the final experiment. Niima could give him pain as a result of the healing, a sign that she did not wish to be healed. And allow the healing to go accordingly, like Taikai’s. Running at zero, and drawing morely on her healing energies than equally like the firebender in the tournaments.

Now, the well of energy Taizen felt, when Niima brushed his hair away, had felt hot and intoxicating. Like a very good wine that worked immediately. Because of this warm energy, that felt reminiscent to the ‘warm feeling’ he had felt before several times with Niima. Now, rather than draw from his logic, Taizen felt drunk with the power of the energy. And reached out a glove-covered hand to Niima. Carefullly grasping her wounded hand as though it were the most delicate thing on earth-which to Taizen indeed was at the moment- Began to channel the warm energy… The warm energy and the feeling of warmth, from his own body, through the water, and into Niima.

Rather than use Niima’s energy and his own to heal her, he would use, entirely his own. The water bonding the two together shined brightly for several moments, longer than any other time he’d healed before. Taizen’s eyes were glazing over, he couldn’t comprehend anything anymore, all he knew was that the feeling he had, was disappearing, and that the cool water holding his hand had evaporated. He began panting, not sure why he was panting, what had happened? What had he just done? Why couldn’t he remember anything from two minutes ago….?! And Niima, how was she? What-

If you mean, a thread, Then, sure, I could put it on my 'to-do' list. But if you mean, Firebending amvs, i'm sorry, I don't make them. I'm sure I can find some links to the youtube videos. I'll edit the posts so that you guys can get some links to other bending vids ^.^

i meant a thread xd sorry that was a little vague. if you want help on the fire one then ill help. I wrote an essay about it and stuff.

And it's cool that you guys have done martial arts. I just box. Not as pretty as tai chi or anything but I like it.

I've seen your essay, it was nice. (I hadn't noticed lightning had other colors ^.^; )

That said, you should make your own thread about firebending. I know nothing about northern shaolin. All I can really say about the other nations is what I learned in the 'creating the legends' vids.

I'm having fun with this though ^>^ Taichi is really awesome. I doubt we'll see Katara with one, but there are forms of Taichi with weapons! (Like fans, canes, and a taichi sword)

Indeed, it seems to me that she'll stick to water whips, though It wouldn't hurt to see some other waterbender's with weapons... domokun Nick! Give us weapon-wielding waterbenders in the third season! XD
