Tea-Sama Oh wow, I'm absolutely no help. Not too much advice wise, but you'll make good moral support. whee

Funny. I'm surprised Trajedy hasn't posted in here. For some reason, she seems like the type to have plenty of advice on this topic. Or I could just be insane. It's probably the latter.

Spirit of the Sword Well, I'm not asking for help, nor am I telling people how to say it. I was just wondering your opinions on how my approach is gonna be. For starters, I'm in love with my girlfriend. I just haven't told her yet. I'm also hoping that she doesn't read this, cause it'll ruin it. But, she's the kinda girl who gets flustered when she talks about what she feels, cause it seems this is kinda the first time she's had feelings for someone. But, I could be wrong. So, I'm kinda afraid that saying it will push her away, so I guess I'm asking if I should go through with it or not too. Anyways, I'm gonna go plain and simple, and just say: "I love you. I hope you don't mind." Well, what do people think? I'm no-good at this stuff, so if it seems childish and ill-thought out (which is probably is) point it out in a nice, friendly manner. Im no expert on this but I would leave out the 'I hope you dont mind' part. If she pushes you away for saying you love her she isnt worth your time anyway.
Beyond that all I can say is good luck.

Leave out the 'I hope you don't mind'...yes, regardless of whether or not you think it's appropriate. As a person who's always trying to make every little thing he says not have the potential to come back and bite him in the a**, I've come to understand that there are just some things you don't do that with. Saying 'I love you' is one of those things; you don't put your arms around your girl and, when she says 'I love you', reply 'I love you too, but I'm not ruling out the possibility this isn't going to work out'. You just end up hurting her feelings and might even do irrepairable damage to the relationship. Yes, I know that 'I hope you don't mind' isn't something nearly that blatant, but...well, perhaps the following explanation will make it clearer.
Adding the 'I hope you don't mind' sounds to me like you're trying to cover your tracks before you've even made them, and it really doesn't sound that confident either. You stated you love her, and you seemed to have at least a rudimentary belief that she shares in those feelings. The only words you need say are 'I love you'. If you're right about her being in love with you, then she's going to accept it. Depending on how, well, afraid of commitment she is, she might react strangely at first, but if she loves you, and it sounds like she does, then she'll come to realize that far quicker than she ever would have if left to her own designs. If not, well, love doesn't always work like we want it to, and there will always be at least one instance of pain and heartbreak in every person's quest for eternal and mutual affection. Perhaps this is yours, perhaps it isn't; either way (to use a baseball analogy) your chances of losing in the end are greater if you don't pitch your best game.

Gahh!!!! I did it! redface I screwed up horribly, I know it. WHY ME, GODS OF EVIL STUFF, WHY ME?!?!? JB And, no I'm not purposing to you. whee Several things before I do say what I'm going to say, though. First off, don't feel rushed, or that you need to say something right away. Like you said in the last pm, you haven't had your first kiss yet. So, this might be akward for you, but I need to get this off my chest. I love you. heart I love you. heart I love you. heart I love you heart . I love you. heart I love you more than I can describe. And I know this is love. It's more than just a couple who says "I love you" in the first week of dating. It's more than somebody thinking they love some one, then finding out that the person has nothing in common with them. I really love you. If you needed me to, I would pack up and leave New Zealand for you. I would rescue you from Ninjas. Robot Ninjas that shoot lasers from their eyes! I love you. Okay, I'm sorry. I got pretty mushy there. But, that's what happens when you're in love. xp Um... well, please don't think I'm moving too fast. Please don't be intimated. Take as much time as you want to respond. Please, do. I'm know what I want, but I won't do anything until I know what it's what you want too. I want to be with you. Well, that being off my chest, I hope it's not weighing down yours. Um, there is another this I'd like to ask you, but I think I'll wait until you've made up your mind on this. And please, take as much time as you need. I could wait forever for you. heart I love you, Mi'Lady heart
