1. What is botting/a bot and can I get banned for it?

Botting. Using an automated script, macro, or refreshing feature to post or surf webpages in order to generate Gold (Botting) is forbidden. The use of any software or codes to generate gold without the need for you being in front of your computer is generally considered as botting. Anyone suspected of botting will have their account banned.
2. Can I get banned for buying an item on the MP without knowing the seller got it with botted gold? and am I at risk of being banned for recieving botted gold or items via trades?
No. Only the people who were botting will be banned for it. This includes but isn't limited to the seller buying the items with a mule to get the item(s) and sending themselves these items or gold through the Gift Giving System and Trades.
3. I know someone who is botting, what can I do?
Ask a mod to look into it and let them handle it.
4. How do I know/can prove someone is botting?
One of the ways you can tell a user is botting is by looking at their post history and the time stamps by each spam post.
5. I know a friend of mine is botting and I get stuff from them sometimes for free, am I at risk of being banned too?
Yes because you are profiting from someone who is botting.
Given the chaos in Q&A and SF the past couple of days due to alot of things resurfacing, I think this would become helpful. As well as a guide to find Gaia merchandise or gold being sold on Ebay and how to report them (since I've come across people who don't know how).
Hell, I'd love to see a n00b guide too. xd One that will focus on what n00bs are, how they differ from newbies, how to avoid being a n00b, how to avoid all n00bs, etc. It would be a great read for both newbies and oldbies... newbies would find it informative, oldbies would laugh their asses off and link to it in WTG threads. xd
