Michael Crawford...I heard him as Phantom first, but Colm Wilkinson is my second (*prods* Why is he not on the list? ninja )...oh man that man has a voice of GOD! *Bows* XD
But, my Erik is the original, the Leroux Erik. Although many people may play him and create new versions of his story...THAT is Erik...end of story... blaugh 3nodding

I was never really fond of Colm Wilkinson as Phantom. I liked him a lot in Les Mis, but Phantom just seems far too... well, he just seems out of place, I suppose.
As for a favorite Phantom, I have no idea whom mine would be. John Owen-Jones and Brad Little for stage, I suppose, but the original Leroux will always be my favorite. He is just too cool to pass up.

I totally love Crawford, but I think they made a good choice on Butler.

Most of todays audience won't give a movie a second look without a good looking guy or at least a good voice or does something cool with some weapon. So they did both...still Michael, the other ones are a little odd...one sort of reminds me of V and Erik mixed...but Michael is the only one I really know the other ones no. And Michaels is awsome, though the other ones are pretty cool. cool

Well the Leroux Erik is my #1. As far as ALW Erik's go, my favorite changes depending on what mood I'm in. One great thing about all the ALW show is that the part is so vague that you can do almost anything with it; angsty, wicked, romantic, tragic, troubled, batshit crazy, horny, malicious, etc... It makes for a lot of fun interpretations. I'm on a bit of an Anthony Warlow kick at the moment, but Ted Keegan, Brad Little, Tim Tobin, Earl Carpenter, John-Owen Jones, Ethan Freeman, Hugh Panaro, Michael Crawford, John Cudia, Sandor Sasvari, and Alexander Goebel are some of my general favorites.

Man, when I saw John Cudia do it I thought he overplayed it so bad. That's probably a personal taste thing, but I really wanted some subtlety and got absolutely none. I preferred Hugh Panaro's crazy scene when she whips off his mask the first time... that was awesome. ...you know you're a phanatic when you've seen the show enough to start critiquing it.

I still would kill to see John Cudia, regardless. YouTube clips just don't do it for me anymore. Now that Gary Mauer is off the tour... At least D.C. Anderson is still on the tour! He is the only reason I saw it a couple more times when it was in my city a while ago. Hated the Phantom, hated the Christine, but I could look forward to watching Andre...

Oh, D.C. Anderson... I miss when he and David Cryer were on the tour together. They're the best Firmin/Andre pair there is, I swear. Their comedic timing, and the way they play off each other... I'm spoiled to all other casts because of them. *luff*
