Probably th sun? Because the water benders get their power from the moon, so it would make sense about the sun. *Gasp* wait, maybe thats what'll be in the movie! Maybe firebenders draw their power from another source that none of us know about!!! xd Its possible...
As for Tai-Lee? Yea.. i could see her having a little bit of air nomad in her, but then again im not too entirely sure. She may be so thin because she's quite an acrobat. I mean the way she bends and moves, that may just be due to her persiatance and training... but i think thats definantly a possibility.

I'm thinking that the fire benders also built something to counteract the eclipse because Ozai is a crafty man. ninja As for Ty Lee, I love that theory.

i LOVE ur "its a gaint mushroom! maybe its friendly" well we know that the water benders get the sorse of strenght from the moon and there strongest at night in one episode Zuko said to Katara* he gets his strenght from the sun and the sun is basicly a giant ball of burning firey gas so maybe they learned fire bending from the sun
*did i spell that right?

Maybe fire bending comes from the dragon, or pheonix. We know the Avatar Roku rode on the back of a drgaon so Dragons do exist in the avatar world

Sauda20 Le Spiffy One Volcanoes? gonk
Not to mention that Ty Lee's face structure is, like, exactly the same as Aang's...and she even moves like an airbender.
Afiko sounds very plausible! Yeah, it does sound like that could be the case if Ty Lee had Air Nomad blood in her somewhere... Hmm.. Actually, a volcano does seem like something that someone could learn firebending from. I don't exactly know how though. ^^; Maybe a volcano's eruptions and sudden tremors are like the quick, ferocious attacks that evoke the uncompromising danger of fire, and the people copied that? That's kind of like the waterbenders and the moon. That's my take on the volcano theory anyway. sweatdrop honestly i never thought of it, i never thought of looking deeper into their personalities and never thought they were anything but fire nation, sounds rather interesting that Ty Lee may be of air nomad desent, maybe her and aang will become friends

Most likely the sun, since Katara said that the Waterbenders lose their power during a lunar eclipse, and now they're saying that Firebenders lose their power on the solar eclipse.

Fire is to water so Moon is to Sun. ... Does that make sense? I'll explain. Fire is the opposite of Water and the Moon is the opposite of Sun. So I say Sun. I see a pattern. Airbenders learnt from Flying Bisons and Air is opposite to Earth and Earthbenders learnt from an animal aswell. So Firebenders are more likey to learn from the Sun more then anything

Sauda20 Kinesis I suspected Ty Lee of not being entirely firebender as soon as I saw her. She's the only firebender I can recall seeing with an eye color other than gold/brown, and she doesn't have uberpale skin like most do. Sounds likely. And for the firebenders, I'm going with the sun. Firebendering is diametrically opposed to Waterbending in every way, so iit makes sense. : O Hmm.. *nods* That works too... I guess we'll just have to wait until the series tells us how Firebenders got their powers to know the true answer... sweatdrop I don't mind waiting though. 3nodding i am pretty sure it did durring the watertribe battle episodes at the end of season 1--listen to Iroh and Zhao (sp?) and then when Zukko tells Katara he rises with the sun--meaning as a firebender the sun makes him stronger and she rises with the moon-
