I'm sold on any holiday that heavily involves candy. whee So Halloween and Easter. Oh, and St. Patrick's Day because it's half-way to my birthday.

American Thanksgiving because I love the sentiment that we should give thanks to each other and to the creator (whichever one you choose or none at all). We don't think of our blessings enough. Festivus because it's fun and made up and silly and yet has the Airing of Grievances which I think has a good lesson. Purim because there's nothing as fun as eating cookies that are symbolic of ears cut off a madman. And because it's really a fun religious holiday, even though I'm not Jewish.

i think all holidays are great...as long as you get to share them with the ones you love and care for

Any time when I don't have to deal with work or school stuff is a holiday for me. lol
I don't celebrate our modern holidays since they are all basically meaningless. Say happy new year on Halloween and most people won't have a clue(it comes from Samhain, the Celtic new years).

I usually do not celibrate holidays. But if I was to call just one holiday a favorite, it would have to be Christmas.

Favorite holiday for me would definitally be Christmas. I love, love, love decorating for it. I also love looking at other people's decorations. There's just something really pretty about christmas lights shining through a snow dusted tree. smile

I love Halloween! I like getting free candy and seeing people all dress up. Halloween is my time to dress in whatever outfit I want without feeling like a doofus. This October I went to DisneyWorld's Halloween party. I dressed as a little gothy lolita girl and my boyfriend went as a jester. It was fun, but the candy sucked! I barely recieved any chocolate. ._.

I have to say I put the most work into Shamhna (Samhain, Halloween). I decorate the whole house and have been putting on a backyard haunted house ever since I got the place. I also open the garage and have some treats for the adults taking their kids out, and after trick-or-treating is over, I have a little party for friends and family (family meaning just my sister).
The next day I celebrate a combination of Day of the Dead, Dziady (a Slavic feast held around this time of year as well as spring)and Zaduskzi (Polish tradition of lighting candles and visiting the graves of relatives though no one I am close to has a marker since I don't really know my relatives, and most of them would be in England anyway.) But I make candied skulls, mexican hot chocolate, fried ice cream, sweetened cakes, as much as I feel up to.
I like to try to vary what festivals I celebrate each year to learn new festivals and traditions, but some like Shamna I will celebrate no matter because of just having a strong tie to them.

I would have to say Halloween. I love to give out the candy and see what the little kids are dressed up as. When you come to my house to get cand you must say "Trick or Treat".

I'm going to be all weird and say 4th of July. I'm not terribly patriotic, but let's consider: I can't eat candy, I'm not a fan of spending money, I'm not religious and I love fireworks. Plus, I have consistant fond memories of that holiday.
