when i was in London in 2002 i saw Chicago the musical. i thought the jazz (and tango!) was great, the singing was wonderful and the acting was very sassy. it was funny, enjoyable, the music was good, and the entire thing was hundreds of times better than the movie. have you guys every seen a musical? if so, which one, and was it good?

I've never seen a live one though. my high school put on a live Jekyll and Hyde and my brother was in it. it was an amazing show. this year i participated in the school production of City of Angels; i played alto sax and clarinet in the orchestra.we had two weeks of performances but the music was awesome!!!

I've seen wayyyy too many musicals... My schools tend to integrate them into our band tours, but my favourite one has definitely got to be "The Music Man". As well, as part of our IB music curriculum, we have to go see 3 or 4 operas a year. As well, my ex is really into musicals, so I ended up watching quite a few with her

Cole Porter! My god, not only did he write funny stories for his musicals, he wrote such infectious songs too.
It's like he was bi-talented, or something...

Ash Rail Cole Porter! My god, not only did he write funny stories for his musicals, he wrote such infectious songs too. It's like he was bi-talented, or something... Cole Porter is awesome!!! late last year i saw Cole Porter's Red, Hot and Blue!, which was a hilarious and sassy broadway hit! the singing and swinging was great, too. i recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen one of Cole Porter's productions.

I still haven't seen De-Lovely.... : ( I do have the sound track though. Some of it is kind of iffy sounding, but I like it a lot.

i played in the pit for my schools production of "Little Shop of Horrors." Its more doo-wop than jazz, but me and the other pit members later went on to form our own jazz band.

I go see musicals all the time, but I prefer plays to a lot of them. Laramie Project, anyone?
Musicals, recently...I was in the Mystery of Edwin Drood. Saw Sweeney Todd, Joseph and the technicolour dreamcoat, JC Superstar, Music Man, 42nd Street, Guys and Dolls, Little Shop of Horrors..
Although contrary to whoever did I hated the Music Man worse than 42nd Street and that was bad.

I love old musicals. Fred Astaire musicals are almost all awesome and introduced some of the greatest standard's ever. Also, I think the musicman is brillant, though I haven't seen the Matthew Broderick version, it may be awful.
Some great Fred Astaire musicals though are:
The Bandwagon (One of the greatest musicals ever)
Swing Time
Easter Parade
You'll Never Get Rich
