i just got two books at Bronstein's: The Brecker Brothers and Herbie Hancock for all instruments by Jamey Aebersold. they're challenging but good books which you can build legit material off of.

Yeah, almost all his books are great for making arrangements, especially because most of the transposition is already done for you.

I just got a new one called "Contemporary Standards and Originals." He takes standards and original tunes and arranges them extremely strangely. One of the easier ones is called The Sun King, and it goes back and forth every measure between 10/8 and 11/8.
Thare's another one where in the solo section, the 1st, 3rd, and 5th chorusus are in 3/4 and the 2nd 4th and 6th chorusus are in 4/4.
It's also got Maiden Voyage in there. That's pretty cool.

I used to use him a lot (the school has books) but schools out and I haven't really played much of anything
except for today, I have a good collection of Diana Krall stuff- i.e. other people's stuff she did- that I played out of for quite a while.
