Well... I am the only female bassist in my school district. But it's not a band, or an electric bass guitar. Just Bass-violin in orchestra whee

I hate it when people say girls can't be real bassists because their hands are too small.

I was in the guitar shop buying strings for my bass last week, and the guy in the shop asked me if they were for my boyfriend! D:

Welp, prity much I play bass for a metal band at the moment. Prity cool stuff. We are sort of a doom metal band, but at some points we play faster, then most doom bands do. If I had to give an example I would say mix candlemass with moonsorrow, and you kinda have the idea. In my free time I like to play funk and jazz licks. And mess around with amp settings, and modifiy old gear. Gotta have some girls in the metal scene or it would be prity boring. Gotta say my current fav is probably Claypool.

I play upright.
For my school.
For three months now.
...
It's cool. I mean, I'm the most important person in the orchestra, being first seat and all, but it is huge...
We'll see for now. By the way, does anybody have music for three first-year basses to play together?

Hm, well, I'm the only female bass player I know around here. I used to be in a band comprised of my brother and his friend, the two of them being 11 and 12 respectively. However, my brother's friend, the guitarist, kind of controlled everything and we never met up very often. I quit for those reasons.
If I had more skill, I might be looking around for other groups, but I'm still a bit of a newbie.
My influences are Cliff Burton and Tom Araya (the latter because he can sing and play bass at the same time, which I still can't do without losing focus on one or the other).

Heck Yes!!! I am a female bass player. I have been playing for about 7 years or so. I also play the string bass. I am currently in a band called, The Hitswitch. Female bass players FTW!
