She laughed bitterly, "You should know better than anyone that magic and herbs can not always save. If mother nature chooses to take, then nothing we or anyone else does will stop her." She rubbed a hand against her cheeks and sighed shaking her head. Two words got to her. Induce and miscarriage. She coudl'nt believe it. Why would anyone do that? Here she wanted a baby so badly and someone would carelessly kill off theirs. Baby killer... "You seem to know an awful lot about miscarriages Aura. Required training for a high priestess?"

She might as well say it now. "No. Self learned trick for myself and my own pregnancy mishaps." And a step back from Nailah before Aurahkah got herself slapped. She knew she was going to get a bad reaction from it. Aura had openly admitted that her past wasn't always good, this was one of those examples. "When your survival depends on only taking care of yourself...you learn things..."

The book slipped from Niah's hands and she backed up shaking her head, her face draining of color. "You...you didn't...please say you didn't." She swallowed and tried to blink back tears. Aura had killed off her babies. Heartlessly killed them off...and here Niah wanted one so badly. She had wanted the one back in Egypt too. Her hand was shaking and she put it up to her mouth trying to hide her vulnerability. "How many?"

Niah was freaking out. Did she have to answer that question? Why not, she wanted to know and Nailah would have to accept it. Looking away she counted in her head. "Between the ages of fourteen and twenty...sixteen. Sixteen times I either threw myself down a flight of stairs or had someone beat the hell out of be till I couldn't move." Suddenly the need to justify herself popped up. "Niah, it was a different time. You have to understand why I did it..."

Nailah held up a hand to silence her, disbelief and hurt in her eyes. "Sixteen times? Sixteen times Aura?! Are you insane? You killed off sixteen innocent lives because you couldn't deal with them?" Anger and bitterness welled up inside her and she wanted nothing more than to hurt her friend. "I suppose we shouldn't allow you around Rand's children or Bastet's. You may hurt them..you...you..." A deep breath. "Baby killer!"

Okay that probably hurt more than a slap in the face, she would of preferred the slap. But with Niah's anger, came Aura's. "You can't understand Nailah! Do you think I enjoyed it!? Think that I did if for fun!? Whee, let's do it again?! No Nailah! I didn't!" Yet her throat wouldn't let the words of denial come up against the accusation. "Now you think I'll go after Rand's and Bastet's? You're the insane one! I would never do that! I would never do what I did ever again! I regret it every damn time I think about it! But you course you can't understand it!"

"You're right Aura. I wouldn't understand would I? Because I was born after you." She hsook her head. "I'm so damn tired of hearing that. It was a differnt time Niah. You just wouldn't understand. Well I understand one thing adn that it's never okay to kill off a baby! And don't you pull that 'I wasn't loved as a child card with me Aura. That's been used. It happened hundreds of years ago. Your scars are gone, your bones are healed. That no longer applies and it's not an excuse!" She was spitting mad, thought she might actually slap Aura. She needed to calm down. She needed to drink. She needed to cry. In that order.

"I'm not pulling that card you stupid woman. Does it look like I'm trying for excuses? I know what I did! I know okay! Don't be so ******** high and mighty Nailah! You're not the perfect little angel on the planet you know so don't you dare try to pass judgment on me! Would you rather I have several b*****d children running around that would die a slow painful death in two years of life at the most? Would that of been better Nailah?!"

"Yes!" she screamed then shook her head, "No..I do'nt know. I don't know god dammit!" She kicked the book across the room and fisted her fingers in her hair. "I never said I was perfect but I didn't purposely lose my baby. I wanted my baby and.." she choked up and shook her head. Slowly she walked over picking up he rbook and then sat down and put her head in her hands. She didn't want to cry but gods she needed to. It hurt so badly to know that she could never have one and Aura had almost had so many. That meant it would be nothing for her to have another. A fresh stab of pain dug into Niah's chest making it hard fro her to breathe. "You wouldn't understand..."
PostPosted: Sat Jun 11, 2005 9:52 pm

"Of course I wouldn't because I'm a heartless baby killer. Make sure you keep Rand and Bastet away from me, just like you said. Oh you might want to tell Saradin too. Who knows may end up with one of his then throw myself down the stairs to get rid of that one too." Now she was just being mean. Taking a seat on the couch she grabbed her book and opened it. "Don't worry Nailah, I'll be mortal and dead soon enough." Then she promptly took to ignoring her.

That one cut deeper than any slice with a sai, blade, or magically induced injury ever could. A heartless jibe to remind her that she was losing her. "I wouldn't put it past you! Maybe we should take Ecara from you too. Or do you only hurt them when they're inside the mother. Poor, defenseless, helpless." She shook her head and started to flip through her book again, tears burning her eyes.

Nelphean sat in his labratory, building Monolith. The metallic substance known as Magicite was impossible to get on this plane, so he had to order offworld. Offworld orders had a nasty tendancy to take a tremendous length of time... Nelphean sat and fiddled with the insides of the beast he was creating.

Nelphean was looking at Monolith's heart when a sudden noise bothered him, he turned his head to the side to see a strange looking, multicoloured eyed elf wearing robes of the archmagi... Nelphean blinked, and turned his head bak to Monolith.

"Uh, Hello... Can you tell me if this is Ecara's plane?" The wizard asked.

Nelphean looked at the wizard with a very confused expression, "Who?"

"Someone you would know should you know that you knew her."

"Oh, one of those people... Err... No... Can't say that this is."

"Ok, I'll be on my way then. I'll see you later."

"What-" As Nelphean began to ask what are you talking about, the wizard seemed to... Time Stop? No, not Time Stop, but the principle and signiture of the spell was very simular. "Ok, I think that that never happened, and I only felt slightly lonely..." Nelphean turned back to monolith, and continued building the device that would assist him in battling his illadvised children. "Damn you Shez'Golith."

Bleed profusly from his many wounds, Rain stared at the sky and wondered what heaven would be like... His head was swelling with sorrow, his mind circulated on the wishes he never fufilled, and his hands reached for his weapons, vainly trying to grasp them so that he could return to the fight, and cut down that infidel, that half drow that dark bloch of despair.

"Hello good sir, can you tell me if Ecara lives on this plain?" The multicoloured eyed wizard asked the form lying on the ground.

"E-car-a?" Rain gasped.

"Have you heard of her?" Ash asked agian looking at the injuries. "These are pretty bad... all those arrows... Oh, poisoned crossbow darts... Here drink this..." Ash poured a blue coloured liquid down Rain's throught. "This should at least return some of the colour to your face."

"Thank...you." Rain replied.

"Now, about Ecara...?"

"The little wolf..." Rain said softly, "Yes, she was just kidnapped... by ..."

"Oh, I remeber this, this is when you brave defenders fought Kellg'hn... Wow, I am standing near the sight were-" Ash looked at Rain who's expression did not mimic Ash's excitement. "Anyway, she is too young. I'll try back later. Until then, bye!" Ash blinked or blurred out of existance. Rain could not tell. Moments later, all thought of Ash at all simply vanished.
