The library usually sells a lot of the books it has, but unfortunately I have not been able to go out and buy any. But I love used books-especially the smell! xd

Fantasy Moon Phantomette I bought a used copy of The Phantom of the Opera while I was in Maine, and my little brother walked around flipping the pages and sniffing it. O____O
It was two bucks, though. And great entertainment. Oh, I wouldn't mind having a copy of that book! I read it during an accelerated reader competition we had in high school and enjoyed it. I would give it to you (I have two) but I'm far too attatched to it. >.o
Phantom es luuurve. <3

I buy used books. There used to be a Scouts Club that would hold a used book sale every month that I attended faithfully. Now it is no more. cry It was the best place to find books. My school library often gives away old books that no one rents anymore, too. smile

Sir Ichigo Used books are possibly the best things to ever grace the earth. You can find out-of-print and hard-to-find items, they're cheap, and they smell nice. >_< That's so true it's scary...

Ah, such wonderful books at Book World when I went this weekend! I found a nicely bound hardcover copy of The Three Musketeers, that apart from a slight smudge of paint on the front looked very nice. I also came across a paperback of The Man in the Iron Mask. Normally I don't like books with the movie boxart on the cover, but it's the musketeers so I shall overlook this minor detail in order to have a dose of Alexandre Dumas. wink

I always prefer to get a book used if I can. They're cheaper, I feel less guilty about breaking the binding if someone else has done it first and they feel loved.
On that note, you can buy books used online if you aren't already doing that. It's not the same as going to the store and browsing, but if it's your preference like it is for me, it's nice to be able to find most books used and have them brought right to your door if you can't find them elsewhere.

I buy books used when I can. They are normally a fair price and have titles that you normally don't see.

I love used books. I usually buy them on sale at my local library. I also have a used book store near by.
I love used books because, as previously stated, it's possible to find books that aren't in print anymore. I also look for first edition books, if possible. I also like used books because it feels like recycling.
