o1. Meeting Ianna, and Gaining a Child.

o1.

Ianna Umbridge
It was the day after she had found the wand and Ianna was sitting behind the desk of the shop, scribbling notes on the new wand. Said wand was laying on the desk beside her, along with the large leather bound Book of Life and Death which never left it.

Her silvery eyes were half drooped in fatigue, and Coailiann was currently sitting to her left and gnawing on a pretzel. Her new love.

"Wonder who the next guardian will be, eh Kay?"

Kay just babbled.

Amparo Fernandez
Amparo looked around absently as she wandered towards the Wand Shoppe, biting her lower lip slightly. She felt like she was both being followed, and being literally pushed in the direction of the Wand Shoppe. Whatever bloody thing is shovin' me to this place, it better stop bein' s'damn pushy. She thought absently, breaking into a jog towards the shop.

Finally the hispanic-french witch was at the shop, and entered quietly, looking around. She sniffed absently and rubbed her nose, walking around quietly. "Hello?" She called quietly, eyes carefully examining the various objects in the shoppe, determining what was dangerous and what wasn't...

Finally she neared the desk in the shop, and spotted Ianna. She smiled slightly. "Hello there." She greeted, rubbing her neck. What was she doing here? She glanced around again, biting her lip sheepishly.

Ianna Umbridge
A voice entered Ianna's head, prodding her to tell her that the new owner of a wand had finally entered. Which wand it was, Ianna had no clue. Thankfully, the book would know.

"I know, I know." Ianna muttered, seemingly to herself. "I'm not stupid, I feel it." She knew that the woman would think she was insane for talking to herself.

"Urm, Hi!" Ianna answered quietly and she smiled a bit, fidgeting with the book that had slid itself over to her. "Welcome to Ghosts of the Past..."

Coailiann echoed her mother's words, in her own baby speech. "Ghosblpah."

Amparo Fernandez
Amparo smiled slightly. "Thanks. I'm, uh, I'm Amparo. Amparo Fernandez. Uh, I... this is gonna sound insane." She looked sheepish. "But something just kinda told me to come here." Amparo rubbed her neck sheepishly.

She heard the baby speech, and glanced down, looking amused. "She's cute... What's her name?" She asked, watching the baby with an amused and motherly look on her face.

Ianna Umbridge
Ianna smirked a little. "Mmm, yes, I suppose you were. If you're curious as to why...well, you should read this book."

The woman pushed the book towards her, tilting her head a little bit. Wondering what her reaction would be to the sudden glowing and blowing of dust and pages and whatnot that would occur the second she touched the book.

Though she doubted anything could beat the black-man's reaction.

When the blowing suddenly stopped and pages settled, a sketch of the southern wand, perfectly sketched and matching the wand laying on the desk, could be seen. Beneath the picture, it read:

"The South. Wand ID 00007. A Soul has been trapped within the confines of the wand. Congratulations, you have become the next guardian to take on the task of raising it from infancy to greatness. We, Ianna and I, have the upmost faith in you to complete your task dutifully. Best of luck,

Matilda."

"Congratulations, Ms. Amparo, You're a mommy."

Amparo Fernandez
Amparo arched a dark eyebrow as the book was pushed towards her, and she reached out her hand gently to touch the book, ready to flip it open and find out why she was pushed to this shop by some unseen force.

She let out a yelp when the book began to glow, and the book itself began to flip through pages. A little startled, she stepped forward when it stopped flipping, and frowned.

She saw the sketch of the southern wand, and reached out gently, tracing her fingers along the sketch. She read the words beneath it quietly, and frowned slowly.

"But...." Amparo took a deep breath. "This means I have to take care of a piece of wood, and whatever soul's inside?" She looked at the woman. "I'm not ready to be a mother! I'm barely ready to take care of me an' Antonio!" She insisted, closing her eyes tight.

"You've got t'be kidding me..."

Ianna Umbridge
At least she was taking it slightly calmer than the black man? "Nope, not kidding you." she slid the wand over to her. "Meet your kid." she almost cackled at that and bent down, picking her daughter up.

"This is Coailiann, by the way. She came out of a wand too, going into toddlerhood and is a little brat, but I love her anyway." she chuckled and snuggled the little girl, who grabbed at her mother's hair and shoved it in her mouth, giggling. "Yeah....Anyway."

Amparo Fernandez
Amparo eyed the wand gently, and bit her lip, picking it up slowly. "Well, when'll it... erm... hatch?" That wasn't the right term. She coughed. "I mean... Yeah. The baby'll come out of this?" She frowned, examining the wand carefully.

She looked over at the baby, and smiled slightly. "She's absolutely precious." Amparo laughed quietly. "My own, Antonio, he's a bit of a brat too. Can't help but love him, the little Prince." She shook her head and smiled, getting used to the familiar weight of the wand in her hand. "How long did it take until she came out of the wand?" She asked, frowning sheepishly.

Ianna Umbridge
"The spirits are all different, it's never easy to tell. There will be two stages before it becomes an infant, a wisp and a baby ghost. Wisp is the most delicate stage..It's easiest to be deformed then." Ianna paused. "From the baby ghost, it'll solidify into a human child."

Coailiann snuggled into her mother and stared at the lady quietly. Another baby? she had to meet it! And she said she was precious! That earned MAJOR points in the little sidhe's book.

"Thank you...she's precious, but a little candy coated evil, I think." she chuckled and stroked her daughter's head. "A little rebel sidhe."

Amparo Fernandez
"Sidhe?" She frowned, and thought back. That sounded really, really familiar. Amparo dismissed it and smiled. "I see." She nodded a little, and bit her lip.

"This is going to be fun to explain to the boys." Amparo couldn't help the amused look on her face at the thought of Antonio and Jonathan's reaction to the wand.

She bit her lip and sighed. "Speaking of the boys... I should get home and tell them before they find out on their own." She rubbed her neck sheepishly. "They're not exactly the patient type." Patient? Far from it. Antonio and Jonathan had been getting into hella mischief whenever she left them alone for a few hours. It was hell going to the supermarket and coming back to a torn apart house and a soot-covered Changeling. Oy.

Ianna Umbridge
Ianna laughed softly. "I wouldn't dream of leaving Coailiann alone, so I know what you mean...Matilda was a slightly better baby..She was the one who created this place....Urm...Before you go though..." she paused and then found a piece of paper, golden words saying 'press me' glittering on the parchment.

"Press that?"

As soon as Amparo so much as touched it, she was transported into a large room. As they entered the main lobby Via the portal connecting the shoppe and the headquarters, the first thing they would notice is the vast...largeness...of it. The high ceilings, edged with gold, the large chandeliers dripping with crystals, the smooth white tile-floors, colorful rugs, and beautiful paintings.

To the left was a large recreational area complete with a large flat-screen television, several rows of various games, movies, video game systems and books. There was a basket of toys in the corner, full of plushies, dolls, cards and various other objects which would appeal to most ages. Included in the area were several comfy looking couches and plush chairs just made for sitting, lounging or bouncing in. It seemed to be heaven on a fluffy carpet. It even had a foos-ball table and an air-hockey table....and for the slightly more food-minded GoTP, a mini fridge always full.

To the right was a large elaborate counter, which seemed to have a force-field of some sort around it, keeping anyone who was not Ianna or Matilda from going behind it. On the counter lay a roster with the names of all the Ghostly children and their guardians, and an appointment book.

From there, it branched off into halls with rows and rows of rooms. Some were storage, some were guest rooms, some were bathrooms, and one very large and ornate door to the end of the hall led to the gardens. "Welcome to Headquarters, Amparo... You're welcome here at any time."

Amparo Fernandez
Amparo arched an eyebrow slightly, and pressed her finger to the paper. She let out a surprised yelp when she was suddenly transported into the vast Headquarters, and looked around curiously. "Wow..."

She smiled slightly at Ianna. "Thank you, Miss..." She bit her lip, looking around curiously, and then smiled at her again. "I'll be back, no doubt about that." She promised, grinning sheepishly. "And thank you for... for this." She held up the wand slightly, careful of it.

"Now... I should be off." She looked around for the exit sheepishly, and then frowned. "Uh... where do we get out of here?" She asked, rubbing her head childishly.

Ianna Umbridge
Ianna pointed to the door to the side of the large desk. "Right through that door you go back to the shop, and then you know where that exit is. From now on, you can come through that door to get here...I just like the Paper portal." she smirked and then leaned against the desk with her daughter.

"Enjoy your new son or daughter...and be careful when it turns into a wisp, eh?"

Amparo Fernandez
Amparo nodded slightly, and smiled. "Thanks, Miss Ianna." She headed for the door, thoughts reeling on the wand now in her possession, and the child it would soon become.

I managed to adopt another child without even trying. This really says something about my maternal skills. Amparo sighed, and smiled to herself, heading home.

Now to explain to the boys...

Journal Entry o1.

Dear, dear Diary.

The events from the previous days ran through Amparo's head much like a racetrack. She had taken Antonio and Jonathan to see her father, her mother, and her grandmother Carmen. Antonio seemed to take to the older woman, but Jonathan had spent the day hiding.

Her mind rewinded to the time of her Wand's arrival. Her blue-green eyes flitted over the empty kitchen to see the wand, perched high on the Counter, lying inside a wooden case especially bought for the wand's protection.

Her lips quirked into a slight smile, and she sighed, shaking her head. When she had agreed to take care of Antonio, she had been so sure of herself, so sure that she'd never have a child, and thus, she'd only have to take care of Antonio, and inevitably, Jonathan.

And then she came upon the Wand Shoppe and the woman Ianne, with her baby Coailiann, and... everything went topsy turvy. And the next thing she knew, she was explaining to the boys about why she had a wand in her possession.

Amparo grinned, and shook her head. That was a fun conversation.

"Amparo? ... You're not gonna hit me, are you?"

"....No, Jonathan. Why?"

"You've got a stick."

"Hu-- Oh. This? ... It's a wand."

"What's a wand?"

"It's... supposed to be used for magick, Antonio. But this one in particular is holding a baby soul in it."

"... So you're having a baby."

"Sort of."

"I'm not the father."

"Jonathan!"

"What?!"

Sigh.

To say Jonathan Maciber was a little stupid wasn't quite as true as it seemed. He was smart, just not in the conventional sense. Amparo smiled, and shook her head, before leaning over to grab a book she had bought for Abrihet.

It wouldn't hurt for the child to already have a few entries here and there, to see what happened before she was 'reborn'. Grabbing a pen quietly along with the book, she began to write.

Journal Entry o1.

It's hard to believe that, in a sense, I'm going to have a baby. Not in the 'OMG I'm pregnant what to do what to do' sense, but when this Wand reveals it's soul, I'll be it's sole guardian.

Jonathan'll help, but... Yeah, he's not good with kids. Or babies. Or not-quite-human babies. ...Especially not-quite-human-cobra babies. I remember that one...

But, anyway. Now I am the guardian of a wand that holds a soul that will, luckily, get a second chance at life. And since we're going to be having a new baby in the house, Jonathan and I have made a decision: We're moving into my mother's old house.

It's a lovely two-story house, and it's big enough for the four of us, and whoever decides to drop by. The grounds are expansive, so the children can play, and there is a stable nearby so the children can learn to ride horses.

We'll be moving this weekend, since there's very little to get in there. Antonio can't wait to claim his own bedroom, he's already gotten his things packed and whatnot.

Me, I can't wait either. I'll have my own room, and Jonathan and I won't have to share the bloody couch anymore... And this baby will have her own room, as well.

I just hope whoever gave me this chance knows what he or she's doing, because I really... really don't think I'm ready for a baby. Really.

Amparo sighed quietly to herself, and closed the book. She put a cap on the pen, and got up, grabbing the wand and it's wooden case and heading for the living room.

Her movie was on, and she was going to sit there with her wand and watch it. And silently pray that things'd be okay.

Journal Entry o2.

Quote:

Amparo sat in the now-empty bedroom that would be turned into a nursery for Abrihet when the wand 'baby-ghosted'. She was more or less waiting to finish getting Antonio's room done, and her own room, and then she'd be worrying about the baby's room.

Jonathan was above the garage, in an apartment-like section of it. It had heat, and air-conditioning, and power. He'd be fine. And even so, Jonathan would be in the house anyway most of the time, so it didn't matter.

The grounds were spacious, and she dug out Abrihet's journal quietly, smiling as she flipped open the pages fondly. It'd be wonderful when everything was settled in.

With a gentle grin on her face, she wrote.

Journal Entry 2

We've begun to move into the ranch-styled home that my mother once lived in. She's moved into Durem to be near the cafe and near Papi's garage, so she told us to move in here. It's got five bedrooms. One for me, one for Antonio, and one for the baby.

Jonathan's staying in the apartment over the garage, so he's close by if we ever need him. He'll more than likely be in the house most of the time anyway, so it works nicely.

The house is beautiful, I absolutely adore it. And Antonio discovered my mother's little garden haven. It's a circle of 18-feet in diameter, with a hedge of a fence covered it at least six or seven feet high, hiding everything. We're going to add doors to the opening, so Antonio can be alone in there.

I met with a woman named Matilda. She told me the wand's soul is a female, for which I'm grateful. She also gave me advice to take care of the soul. I'll take those words to the heart.

I also met a man named Patrick, another man named Nai, and a woman named Kierla. Not at the same time, mind you, at different times. Patrick seems nice. I almost stepped on his baby Yashima's tail, so I don't think the baby's too pleased with that. He didn't seem mad, though, after Patrick had him. Nai seems... odd. I don't plan on being around him too much, he seems much like a cop. I don't need to be arrested, thanks.

Kierla seems a little wary about having her wand. I'm amused by this, and I gave her advice, and a promise that if she ever wanted to hang out here, she can. She seems nice, if not a little stand-offish at first. Most people are, so that's okay.

I can't wait until the baby shows itself. I'm a little eager to be a Mom to the little one. I'm a Mom to Antonio, but it's different. He doesn't call me Mum often, only when he's not thinking about it. Usually it's Amparo, or Amp, or 'Paro. I don't mind, but I'd like someone to call me Mom.

I suppose I should get up and start painting the bedroom of mine, so I can finish my bedroom and Antonio's, and work on the baby's nursery.

Amparo smiled and slid the book shut, and then set it on the small table she had holding the journal, bracelet, and a few other odd knick knacks. She got up, and wand in hand, headed off to paint her bedroom.

o6. Johnny Cash and Hoodoo Magic

Quote:

Amparo walked down the street. There was a bunch of open-market-styled tables selling trinkets, or old books, or used CDs... It was like a bazaar, really. She hummed as she walked, wand in the box in her bag. The wisp was tucked carefully into the bag, because she did NOT want it getting blown away.

She was looking for things for the baby girl who would soon be coming into her life. She knew two things: It was a girl, and it was from the south. So... She continued to walk, looking for things that the girl might like. So far, no luck.

With a sigh, Amparo kept walking. She neared one of the many tables selling old, dog-eared books at a dollar or two a piece, and walked towards the table, frowning curiously. A few of the books caught her eye almost instantly, and she wandered through the tent over the three tables curiously, looking through the books. Mostly the books were fiction, dog-eared books that were read fondly. Probably to babies or children who yearned for a real, live, cool bed-time story. Amparo reflected that the children who probably read these dog-eared volumes were grown, and the books were being sold by an old couple who needed money more than memories. It almost made her sad.

Almost.

Amparo picked a book up after a moment, eying it curiously. Hoodoo Mysteries, by Ray Malbrough. She nodded to herself, and flipped through it, reading absently. Pleased with herself, Amparo wandered towards where the old couple had set up a safety box of money, and held out the few dollars that the book cost her. The couple put the book carefully into a bag, eying Amparo curiously. Amparo smiled, and took the bag, heading off.

"But your change--"

"Keep it." She replied over her shoulder, already walking off to examine the other tables. Who knew what treasures this little bazaar of elderly couples had?

A few hours later, Amparo watched as single and couples of old and middle-aged began to pack up. She wandered towards a CD table, and spotted a Johnny Cash CD before she was close enough to establish what it was. She grinned absently, and picked up the CD.

"Do you mind if I buy this real quick, before y'close up?" She asked calmly, eying the tracks on the CD with a curious grin. The Essential Johnny Cash. She grinned as the guy nodded, and paid the five dollars it cost for the CD.

She didn't take a bag, and instead set it inside the bag with the Hoodoo book. Now pleased with herself for having not one, but two gifts for the girl who would be coming soon.

Triumphantly, she headed over to her car, humming as she walked. "We got married in a fever... Hotter than a pepper sprout... We been talkin' bout, Jackson, ever since the fire went out..."

If only Amparo knew that the girl was going to turn out to be a Johnny Cash fan...

Sitting in the car, Amparo turned the keys to start the ignition, and closed her eyes, sighing. Finally the car was warm enough to drive. She pulled out of the parking space that she had secured, and began to drive towards a coffee shop where she could get a muffin and a coffee.

She drove for fifteen minutes or so, until she was at the cafe that her mother and grandmother ran. Grinning quietly, Amparo headed inside. "Hola Mom." Her mother looked up and grinned.

"Hi Amparo. The usual, baby?"

"Yeah, please."

Her mother nodded and set to work, getting a box of chocolate-chip muffins and a hot chocolate with whipped cream in it. Amparo waited, digging out her wand as she sat at a table. It wasn't long before the wand began to tremble lightly in her grip.

Soon enough, the wand jumped out of her hands and onto the table, rolling, rocking, shaking, and jumping feverishly. Amparo tried to make sure the wand wouldn't roll off the table as it rocked and jumped. She watched with a wide-eyed gaze as the wisp at the end of the wand began to grow.

Finally, after what seemed like forever to Amparo, but was in fact only a few moments, the wand settled it's rolling, only to be in the clutches of a ghosty wisp the size and appearance of a baby. She stared at the baby ghost with a shocked look, before a grin pulled at her lips. "Oh... oh my..."

Amparo reached out gently, but stopped before touching the baby. It was a ghost, she couldn't touch it physically. The baby ghost hovered over the table with a slight 'grin' on its face. Or, it'd be grinning if it had a face. Amparo could see the grin in her mind, and she returned it quietly. "Well hello there little one." She whispered gently.

She looked up when the box and hot chocolate was set in front of her, and her mother eyed the baby ghost curiously. "This your new baby?" Amparo nodded meekly, and took the box and cocoa. Then she looked sheepish.

"Uh... come on, baby girl." The ghost rose and floated after her, floating near her shoulder safely. Amparo grinned sheepishly, and nodded to her Mom. "I'll see you later, Mom." She muttered.

That said and done, Amparo led the baby ghost outside and to the car. She let the baby in through her side, and the baby floated into the passenger seat, hovering over the seat a few inches. Amparo got in, and closed the door, watching the baby. "Well... this is gonna be fun to do."

She couldn't hear it out loud, but in her mind she could hear the baby's laughter in her mind. She smiled slightly and shook her head, turning the car on and driving back to the house outside of Durem. She could only imagine Antonio and Jon's reaction to a baby ghost.

Journal Entry o3.

Quote:

With the baby ghost sitting -- no, hovering over her shoulder, Amparo sat with the journal in her lap and smiled up at the ghost. "This is your journal." She explained to the ghost, sure that it could understand. "When you get older, you can write in it yourself. I've been putting little entries in so you have something started for you." Amparo grinned.

She smiled at the little giggling she heard in her head, and nodded to the girl. "So, think we should write in it?" She could feel the nod more than hear it, and dug out a pen, beginning to write...

Quote:

It's been an odd bit of days. Antonio's been out with Jonathan a lot since the baby ghosted, I'm not sure what they're doing. I think Jonathan's just teaching him the ropes. As soon as he's a teenager, he decided he wants to apprentice under myself.

That'll be fun. I've never had an apprentice. I'm almost tempted to hand him over to Corey, though. Corey's a better boss than I am, I'm more of the follower than the leader.

But, I'm sure it'll work out. If Holt wants him moved, then he'll be moved. It's just that simple.

The baby has 'ghosted' from the wand. I got through the Wisp stage with no difficulties, the next stage is... The baby. I'm so eager to have the baby, I've started painting the nursery. I also cut through the wall separating our rooms, to create a dome-door that'll let me in there without having to walk out of my room and down to her door.

The rooms being painted a pastel green color, which I'm pretty sure the baby likes, because she giggles whenever she sees it. So, I'm pretty sure that works nicely.

I'm so damn eager to have this baby, I shake and grin whenever I think about it. It's gonna be hard, but it'll be worth it. Oh it'll be so worth it...

Amparo put the pen down, and looked over at the baby ghost with a smile. She rose, and nodded to the baby ghost. "Let's go get something to eat. The boys should be home soon, and I'd like to have a nice family dinner with all of us."

The baby gave its consent by nodding in Amparo's head, and floated off after her mother into the kitchen, where Amparo began to dig out the makings for tacos. This house, the baby ghost noticed, seemed rather nice. It'd be a nice place for a family.

o8. Easter Eggs

Quote:

Okay, so... Amparo was a little late to arriving to the Easter Party. But really it wasn't entirely her fault. Jonathan had come home and... Well. The two had to talk about Holt's interest in Antonio. It was weird, considering that Holt usually went for the 'breeding' of a child. Antonio was all but human, and Holt didn't really appreciate non-human workers. But something about Antonio seemed to call to Holt. Amparo was worried.

Which explained why the dark-colored sidhe changeling was following Amparo to the Easter Party, glancing around absently. He knew that there was going to be an Easter Egg Hunt and since his little sister would be arriving sooner or later... He might as well try to find some things for her, right?

Antonio immediately shrugged his jacket off and gently laid it over Amparo's shoulders, smiling. "I'm goin' egg-huntin'." He mumbled in explanation, before moving over to look for eggs. And to look for eggs, one had to get messy. As such, Antonio dropped to his knees to make himself toddler-height, and began to look for an egg for Abrihet. Who knows, maybe she'd get a collection of eggs from Antonio!

Amparo snorted at Antonio getting on his hands and knees for an egg, and wandered towards the table of edible goodness. She grinned at Ianna and the other guardians, and then looked over. "... Tony! Come eat first, will you!" No avail. She sighed. "You're getting mud on your pants!"

"Woman, a few grass stains won't kill me!"

"Oh that boy..."

Diacyn emerged triumphantly from the lilies, one fragile pink-and-white egg clutched firmly in his long-fingered hand. He hopped up and down with excitement, waving it around like he’d found a gold nugget- or, considering his personal values, a hand grenade.

“Don’t crack it,” Taylor cautioned. “Come one, it’s time to eat.” Diacyn, ignoring her, picked lily stems from his teeth before, with a burst of excitement, noticing a new Bird in the distance- a fierce-looking Bird with mottled brown-gray wings and a huge dog by his side. Diacyn grinned and displayed his egg arrogantly to the other, secretly thrilled to have found someone else in this park. It was full of bloody babies! Honestly.

Taylor waved too, but to a different person- the silvery-haired woman who seemed to be running the place. She felt extremely shy about it, though. What was she supposed to do at this huge party? Unilke Diacyn, she had a very hard time adjusting to the place. Though, to her credit, she hadn’t ruined any flowerbeds.

"I don't WANT to look for eggs, Shiniee! I want to stay home and eat all that damn CHOCOLATE!"

"Shut up, Iamel. It's Yashima's easter too. Deal with it."

"We aren't Christian! We think Jesus is a Zombie! Shiniee--"

"Don't make me eat your face, Iamel. I will. ******** GOD help me, I will rip your face off your skull and eat it."

That made all the kids around Patrick pause. The dark man didn't notice, sliding into the garden and setting the little fox-kit down. Yashima, not bothering to try and understand the arguing around him, stood wobbly to his feet, squealing at the feel of grass between his toes.

"Kay! Kaaaaaay!" He didn't know if she was there or not, but he wanted to. If she was there - he would find out! He would know... After screeching her name out. "Kaaaaaay!"

"Shiniee, make him shut--"

"I'm two seconds from eating your goddamn face, Iamel. Take Akilah and Akuti to go look for eggs."

The woodpecker pouted, tugging at his little bunny ears he wore atop his head, and grabbed up the chittering, giggling meerkat. "C'mon, Akuti." Grumpy to high hell, Iamel tromped off in search for eggs.

Ianna gave a wave to the woman, "Well hello there!" she called, taking Coailiann from Malen's arms and moving with her towards Taylor. Not only did she notice the woman - she noticed that Patrick had come and brought his brood.

Or some of it. Poor Mordread must have been left alone with the others.

"Patrick, love, how're you 'n' the little one eh?" she set down Coailiann beside Yashi in a quick sweep. Apparently she was more graceful today than usual.

And she had an unusual healthy pink glow to her skin.

Coailiann toddled close to Yashi, giving him a tight hug, "Shii!" she giggled and bounced a little on her heels before falling flat on her rear. The bunny ears she had gotten wet in the fountain flopping over and hiding her green eyes, much to her annoyance.

Sopping wet things.

Ariel sipped some ice tea while watching the run around at the event. It was interesting enough, and she even took out her journal to contemplate a few things durring it, but for the most part she waited until the hunting would start up.

Despite how much it irked her humane self, that searching for eggs would take away from the children, who where only children once, she still wanted to look. However she tried to content herself with her notebook, her tea, and her egg.

Luckily for Iamel, he spotted Savius. Akilah was pushed at a startled horse girl (who was getting gnawed on) as the woodpecker zoomed his way towards teh Kestrel. He bounced on his heels enthusiastically, beaming a bit. "HeySavius!"

And - and Diacyn too! YAY! "And Diacyn is somewhere! I think? Is he?"

Akilah wriggled himself down from his sisters grasp and started toddling around the place, squeaking and laughing a little bit, glancing around as he looked for eggs. He saw other kids had them and, damnit! he wanted one!

"Hey, Ianna... What're you up to?" One eyebrow rose, twisting around to face her with a tired grin. Yashi was kept an eye on, slightly, but Patrick was off in his own little world. "And you look...happy?"

"Kay!" It's all he could really say, tail swishing as his shaky legs started to shake even more. Rrr!

Ianna beamed, "Yeah, It's nice having everyone here. And Malen's actually going to let me cook on the grill. Which is a miracle, since he fears for his life when I cook..."

Coailiann pushed one floppy ear from her face and gazed at her friend with adoring green eyes, "Find egg?" she asked. She wanted to find more shinies, even though Malen said she couldn't.

She WOULD if she wanted to.

Amparo grinned at the guardians, and turned to watch Antonio, who was still determined to find a bloody egg, damnit.

Antonio continued crawling around, sure he looked like a damn sight crawling around in an expensive pair of pants and an equally dressy shirt, looking for an egg. If anything, Abrihet deserved an egg. Hell, in his eyes, his baby sister could have the whole damn world.

And he'd give it to her, too. Antonio was beginning to feel the first feelings of admiration, and the baby wasn't even there yet. Pushing those thoughts out of his head, Antonio continued to look calmly, eyes narrowed as he scanned every bit of grass around him for an egg.

"Ha!" Antonio pulled himself out of the bush, getting stuck on the way and cursing loudly, and held the egg up triumphantly. "So now what!"

"Now come and eat."

".... In a minute." Antonio got up and went to the table, putting the egg safely in his jacket's interior pocket. He grabbed a sandwich and put it in his mouth with a grin, then went off again, searching for eggs.

Antonio was exhilerated. Now... Now it was going to be easier. Except it probably wasn't, but he was in denial so it was okay. Antonio moved to a different area, deciding to let the kids get whatever eggs were still over in the area he'd found his first egg in.

He walked to a tree and jumped up on one branch, pulling himself up carefully and then looking through the leaves for an egg. Certainly someone would have hid one up there...

Antonio blinked at the little tyuri in his egg, and grinned slightly, eying it. It was red, too. He smiled a little and carefully climbed down, the egg and tyuri in tow. He grinned smugly and went over to Amparo. "Look't what I found!"

"I see that." Amparo smirked and grabbed him, sitting him down. "Now let the little'uns get the eggs for a bit, will ya?" She snorted at him. Antonio pouted at her, and then set the tyuri carefully on his shoulder.

"One more. 'm trying to find something for Abrihet." Antonio replied bluntly, staring at Amparo. Amparo rubbed her eyes with a sigh and nudged him.

"One more, then you sit down and let the kids who're supposed to be doin' this do it, will ya?" Amparo smirked at him. Antonio grinned and, tyuri in tow, started to look again for an egg for Abrihet. This time it had to really count, because he doubted Amparo was gonna let him find more than one more. Determination set in, and he began his search.

There he was. Savius had KNOWN there was kin nearby. Familiar too, though it'd been long enough that he couldn't remember the other birds name. Moving at an easy pace, he headed toward the Owl child, only to be distracted by an excited, bouncing Iamel. "You hunting eggs?"

He swung his sword, emphisizing the hunting portion of the project. Maybe the prey was a bit defenseless, but the spirit was there. Though admittedly he hadn't been doing very well.

Over by the food, Lithle and Jer'ain picked through the offerings, the young girl showing more enthusiasm than her guardian. All that unsucessful hunting had built up an appetite.

Ganty looked in the bushes but couldn’t find anything.

“Sorry Artemis there is nothing here?! Way don’t you try again over there?”

Ganty saw Ianna and waved back at here, it has been some time she talked to here and would talk to here later after Artemis would be to tired to search for anymore eggs, she looked at Artemis how was already looking in a different place, this time she was looking under the flower beds, will she have more luck this time?

"Oh thank the gods...SANDWICHES!" Neveah cried out, adoration for all the food showing clearly in her angled aqua eyes. So intent was she on getting food that she never heard someone call out to her the first time, nor did she recognize Kierla at first. The part about Moon frogs though, caught her immediate attention.

"Moon Frogs?! Where!" The butterfly only heard part of what she was asked...obviously. Upon spinning around to see who it was who said something about moon frogs, she finally noticed Kierla. Blinking and sighing lightly, she perked back up as if she'd never made a hearing mistake. "Oh, Moon Frogs...No, not yet. But its definately one of my side projects still!" The stubborn streak boiled back up in her, but like her earlier mistake, it was quickly covered up. "How's the little Pegasus baby?"

After snagging a few sandwiches for herself (GOD was she starving!), the butterfly woman walked back to Kierla, eyeing the little bushes around her. She'd promised to try and find her spiderling an egg, so even if it was only half assed at the time, she was still looking, damnit! "So...Have you found any yet? Easter eggs, I---Waah! Spiderling!" The last part was cried out in surprise as the purple wisp floated away from her, drifting into the bushes lazily. Muttering a brief apology and a promise to return, the lean woman darted after her wisp, which hadn't gone far, but far enough to wiggle around in the under grass. Was it trying to find something on its own?

Impossible, it shouldn't know whats going on!

"Hello," Taylor replied, grinning as she noticed Patrick and the "hoarde" arriving at the party. "Nice party! The eggs are really nice and.... stuff." Out of the corner of her eye, she spied Diacyn sprinting across the garden at top speed, a maniac grin plastered across his face.

Please, non-existant God, don't let him try to eat something. There are enough cute little things here to make him want to go on a killing spree.

Luckily, Diacyn's "spree" was more along the lines of a bird reunion party. "Iamel?" he said, skidding to a halt near the others. "And- oh, cool.

This was the kestrel Iamel had told him about- and he had a sword.

Ohcrap. Ohcrapohcrapohcrap His ninja stars were nothing against that. Time to try to look cool.

"Uh, hey. Yeah, I'm looking for eggs." He flashed his again- sure, it was pink, but it was his egg and the best thing he had so far. "You guys have any?"

"Hey, Taylor!" Patricks hand raised to give the girl a faint wave, lips quirking into a grin. "Where's Baldi--oh, s**t, there he goes. Straight to Woodie and Sword-boy."

Hey, at least he liked Savius. Baldie was, in his opinion, a bad influence on the already not-good Iamel.

"Diacyn?" GLEE! The woodpecker leapt a wee bit in the air and dive-tackled his friend. The moment of attatchment was short-lived, as he had learned that neither of his carnivorous friends were particularily fond of physical touching.

"This is Savius! And...And I'm Iamel!" Beam! "And that's Akilah! he's the one that points." One small finger pointed towards teh chittering meerkat who was currently dragging Akuti this way and that. "Savius has a sword and. Uh. I ...Have a pink egg." Nodnodnod

Diacyn shook his patterned head for a minute, making the neccecary mental adjustement to Iamel's state of permanent sugar rush. He blinked for a moment at Iamel before focusing on the bobbing flame-colored head.

"Akilah? Oh- he's fuzzy," he said, rather stupidly. "So what's the deal with this place? It's all full of smoke and eggs and pointy things that Taylor won't let me touch. And flowers," he added, locating a petal that had gotten lodged between the beads of his necklace.

A quick stare at the still-silent Savius.

He had a sword, and- What were eggs good for? Taylor had picked some gold out of his, but... they weren't especially good missles if they weren't all gooey inside.

"Hi!" Taylor grinned. "Yeah, Diacyn's all-" a quick glance in his direction- "-getting tackled, apparently. I'm just waiting for him to snap and start gnawing on the nearest pair of bunny ears."

"So how's the gang doing?" she added, smiling at the far-too-cute-for-his-own-good Yashima.

After going inside momentaily to tend to his cuts malen returned to the egg hunt and gathering. Seeing Ianna distracted he calmly sidled over to the barbecue looking for all the world as though he belong there. He breathed deep and checked to make sure Ianna hadn't turned the gas on and forgotten about it. Once he was sure that no one was in danger of explouding once the barbecue was lit later he relaxed and simply watched the others having fun.

Carring Kishi once again Del began to look for eggs since there were other doing it again now. Cluing in that it was hunting time again Kishi swished her wand about like a metal detector than pointed towards the one part of the Herb garden Del hasn't had tiem to explore. Figuring it couldn't hurt to try Del headed that way in search of eggs.

Savius couldn't help but grin at Iamel's excitement, waiting patiently for the more energetic boy to stop bouncing before speaking himself. After all, if he kept quite, it seemed like the other bird would fill in all the details for him. "I got this one."

He held out his own egg, more than willing to share in the showing off. Though he hadn't done very well, yet. It seemed like he wasn't as good at hunting eggs as he was at hunting animals. "It's a party. For umm... dead people I guess. They're not stayin' dead though."

Glancing over his shoulder, he checked to make sure Lithle was in sight. Not that he couldn't find his own way home, but he wanted her to stay and 'have fun' or something. She was still there, holding the wand. He wasn't sure how he felt about it... yet. It lay counter to his nature.

Fen on one side, a fluffy new pet thing on the other. He absently scratched both creatures on the head.

"We're 'possed to be celebrating some dude that died. Shiniee calls it Zombie day. Cause he comes back from the dead." Iamel shrugged, tossing his egg back and forth from one hand to the other. "Akilah is a meerkat!"

"Whoever killed him was stupid anyway. I mean, if youre gonna kill something, make sure it's killed DEAD. Not kinda dead, like a scared lizard with no tail. But DEAD. Like. Dead. Food dead. Anyone have food?" Someone had ADD, apparently.

Savius was on teh recieving end of another little beam, Iamels fingers giving both of the larger birds shirts a slight, short-lived tug. "We should find more! More eggs! And kill them dead by throwing them at peoples heads."

......that little ******** gang is...growing.." Patricks voice was a hesitant sigh, running his hand over the back of his neck. "But it turns out male pregnancy is possible! Good news for the scientific community. And looks as if the Birdlets are all having a little meeting. Hn. How're you doing?"

Diacyn's black-and-white eyebrows wrinkled in puzzlement. "So, it's like... a party for zombies? What would zombies want with eggs and bunnies?"

He really did not have the concept of any of this down either, but... he liked zombie movies almost as much as ninja movies, so it was all good.

Unlike Savius, he didn't bother checking up on Taylor. Whatever she was doing, he really did not give a crap. All she did was worry and spaz and occasionally sleep, anyway, so he probably wasn't missing anything new... and if he tried to talk to her, she wouldn't let him do any of the stuff he was currently planning.

"We should throw them at people! And get grenades for the zombies before they eat our flesh and devour our brains. Aaaand... you should slice them up," he mentioned to Savius with the kind of respect that comes from knowing the other guy has a better weapon then you and could probably kick your a** into next Tuesday. But in a few seconds, he was peering into the bushes for extra ammunition.

"Well.... wow. Wow." Taylor did the twitch-spaz thing for a couple of seconds, studying Patrick's belly intently before realizing she probably looked like some kind of pervert. "Half-catboy double-Y-chromosone children? That's... interesting."

"Nothing much is new with me... Diacyn won't quit talking about this party thing Iamel told him about. Apparently there are video games? And blacklights?"

She looked at Patrick with a "please say it isn't so" expression firmly planted on her face.

"I don' like this zombie s**t." Savius muttered, glaring generically around the party. It went against his instincts, really, and he slashed his sword pointedly, as if it might change things. "Death is kinda the point, yeah?"

A shrug, a sigh, a smile. Well, Zombies it was, they might as well make the best of it. "Cool. 'cept anyone who hits my sister dies." It was stated without malice, or force. Savius was confident enough in himself that he didn't feel like he really had to try. If they didn't listen, well that'd be different, but it shouldn't be a problem. "She's next to Lithle." A gesture in their direction. "You can hit my Dad if you wanna, though. It's good for her."

With that said, he joined Diacyn in searching the nearby area for eggs. They'd need ammunition.

"You should give up, you know. There are no such thing as moon frogs," Kierla couldn't help but say, although she knew that a woman as stubborn as Neveah would never take her advice. "Aricia? Oh, the devil's around here somewhere. Not a baby yet, I'm afraid though. And your little Drow-whatever?"

Kierla unwrapped one of the sandwiches and took a bite of it. After she swallowed, she replied: "I've had no choice in the matter; Aricia is a very stubborn brat in these matters. I've been hopping around this entire time like a confounded bunny, poking under bushes and things. Most undignified."

"I like death," Iamels voice was offhanded at that, pocketing his egg and almost jumping onto Diacyns back to help him look for eggs - "Do bunnies really poop out the eggs?"

He was curious, diving into the bushes and spreading them, glancing from side to side. "Heeeere eggie eggie eggie! Come to the Shiniee! Heeeere eggie!"

Patrick winced at Taylors expression, glancing in his guilty way to the side. "....his room has blacklights, a computer, string-lights, a DDR machine, X-Box, Playstation, Super Nintendo and loads of video games. He also likes to color. He's drawn a bunch of Diacyn... and yeah. I promised he could have a sleepover with his friends. So far it's those two over there and Xaxis."

"I probably should give up..." Neveah murmured, entertaining the thought as she chewed on a piece of her most delicious ham sandwich. "...But I'm not going to!" She concluded stubbornly, an amused grin forming on her lips. Apparently, she was one of those 'Until thoroughly proven otherwise, its probably true' people.

"Aren't you supposed to be watching the ghostie thing, though?" Neveah leaned her head to the side, squatting in the bushes around where her spiderling wisp was, to keep tabs on it. "Spiderling's fine, I think...I've never dealt with a spirit wisp before, so I'm pretty sure it's okay. Its really lazy though, for whatever reason." She shrugged a bit, turning back to find where the wisp had gone in the grass, taking a bite of her sandwich and using the other hand to part the green blades for it, to help it look.

"We just got here, so I haven't hopped around like a confounded bunny yet." The butterfly said absently, still helping her wisp poke through the grass. "I read a book once though, that raising kids in general can be very undignified at times. You know, with all the cooing and awwing and playing...Might as well get used to it now, eh?" She laughed, shaking her head.

If Kierla had been a lesser woman, she would have turned green. As it was, she turned a little pale. "Cooing and awwing. How...nice." She tried to imagine herself doing that, and gagged inwardly.

"Do you think I should go back and watch it? I told it I was just going to go get things to eat. What kind of trouble can it get into? And it's not like it's going to wander off or anything...I think. It has a lot of pretty eggs to amuse itself with."

Kierla almost laughed at Neveah's description of the wisp. For some reason. It amused her. "Lazy...well, I wouldn't worry. Not much a wisp can do, I am sure yours is not the only one that seems a little 'lazy.'"

Kierla was feeling extremely talkative today, for whatever reason. "I am sorry for...chattering so. I'll let you get back to your sandwich."

The butterfly woman's eyes lowered knowingly and playfully as she by chance caught the woman paleing. "And diapers and clothes and mud baths and throw up..." Neveah continued on, quickly finishing the list of the undignified ways of a future parent. "I've been reading about it a lot lately...like I said before, I've NO experience with kids, and zilch maternal instincts..." So it made perfect sense to learn about it first, then attempt to aquire it, piece by piece.

Neveah then shrugged. "Thats up to you...if you want, you could bring it over here to hunt with Spiderling over there." She pointed down at the wiggling wisp in the grass that she was following while crouched down. "This is the most active I've seen it, actually...usually it just hangs around my wrist. Do you think it knows that its doing?" Blinking curiously at Kierla's last statement, the butterfly fluttered her wings and waved her hand in a dismissive manner.

"Don't apologize! I like to talk anyway! Spiderling's not letting me stay and eat my sandwich in one place, and I'm sure I can do three things at once. I promise I won't be rude when I eat, either! So if you'd like, you're welcome to stay and chat with me!" Besides, she liked the company! Once she said that, she took a bite of her sandwich again, chewing on it as she continued to help her wisp thread through the grass, poking at any shiney objects she may find within the blades.

Not yet discouraged Del continued her search, after all she knew there were more eggs around they just had to be found. Placing her sister momentarily in the hammock she walked a few feet away and jumped into the fountain. Although she knew the area had been searched before she also knew objects in water could be hard to find. Submersing herself she began to swim aroubd using her echolocation to try and detect any eggs.

Diacyn emerged from the bushes egg-less and disapointed, but it didn't weigh him down for long. "Bunnies couldn't s**t eggs. Remember?" he chided Iamel. "We tore one up and it didn't have any egg-laying stuff inside." Like it or not, Taylor's biology studies were rubbing off on him.

"Why would I want to hit your sister?" he added to Savius, subtly stepping back a couple of inches from the sword-swing. "She doesn't look like much of a challenge- but I'd fight your dad. She's tough."

Yes, he remembered the "incident" at the other party.

"Zombies are freaky, but they're always slow. At least in the movies I saw. And death... well, I don't know about that. But Iamel faucets it, so it can't be that bad."

With that, he poked his head back into the bushes for eggs again.

"Ah." Taylor rubbed the back of her head sheepishly. "Well. He's been going on about it for days... I don't suppose I can deny him it now. Xaxis is that sick-looking guy, right?"

Why couldn't they have normal names? Like Bob or Billy or something?

"...just... don't let him get ahold of anything pointy. Please. For everyone's sanity."

"Course you do." The Kestrel said, in response to Iamel's statement. There was a sort of absent affection toward the other boy, and he went so far as to reach out and ruffle the more brightly coloured Bird's hair. Maybe the idea of having a brother wouldn't be so bad. It'd be like having Iamel around all the time.

"Dad's a badass." Savius agreed, showing the first hints of pride. Sure... Guardian of Death by violence, deadly bird turned human... but he was still a kid. And for him, that meant a certain amount of affection for his family. Not that he needed them really. He liked them. Like pets. And besides, they didn't push him around. He got to do what he wanted, and usually got them to do what he wanted too.

Picking up on the other's enthusiasm, he joined in the search for ammunition. Soon it would be war. And the world would be theres!

"Lithle, can I go with Savius?" Jer'ain asked, restless in place and anxious to join the boys. Food had already been forgotten, she wanted to be involved too.

"Stay here kid. He's about to get himself in trouble." Lithle responded, frowning toward the Kestrel. There was the kid that had visited, and another boy too... damn. Maybe he needed socialization or something, but more of the bird brats meant more problems. They were bad enough individually, and she didn't want to imagine them in groups.

Absently, she turned the golden wand over in her hands. Would this thing need playgroups too? Was she going to have to babysit a bunch of little sticks?

Sara Two-moons wasn't sure what to think of this little outing. Arriving late (as usual) she carried her whisping wand clutched carefully in her arms. As a non-christian, Sara had not celebrated Easter before, but she had always admired other girls going off to church on Easter sunday in pretty white dresses, with lace and bows. The colored eggs she had seen hidden around her neighborhood hadn't been exactly forbidden in her house... they had just been ignored.

Some strange childish part of her was looking forward to searching for easter eggs for the first time.

She glanced around, dark eyes scanning across the busy scene before her. She hoped that no one would notice her late arrival.

Seeing others scanning the area for eggs, Sara decided that it would be all right if she joined in herself. She set off, her sharp eyes scanning the garden.

Was that something over there in the grass? Sara wasn't certain, but she glanced to each side to try and discern if anyone else had spotted the... whatever it was. Everyone else seemed busy, so she decided to investigate.

Sara brushed back a bit of grass, and smirked as she uncovered a toadstool. She'd gone searching for toadstools as a child, and found quite a few. She used to mix them together with grass and rocks, and pretend that she was a famous chef.

She blushed slightly as she recalled her ridiculous notions as a child. She felt a bit like a child now, searching for eggs, but it was a lighthearted feeling.

She smiled at her whisping wand and spoke aloud, to the whisp or to herself. "We're going to find one of these, if its the last thing we do..."

She set off, persistantly.

Ten minutes of searching yielded nothing. Sara vaguely wondered if all the eggs had already been claimed, and her petty "work" was in vain. She rested for a moment under a shade tree, leaning back against it.

The day was pleasant. She decided that she may as well socialize (a quality which she lacked - she was not a social butterfly, quite the opposite!)

But first she wanted to find an egg. She resolved herself to it.

But also this time Artemis had no luck finding any eggs. Ganty felt it didn’t really harm here she was just happy looking around for eggs. She herself got a little bit tired or running after the little ghost and walked over to the table to get something to drink. She spotted a new owner she never talked to before and looked at here it was funny to see how she was going true all the bushes trying to find a egg. When all of the sudden she saw Artemis floating to the bushes near the door. She walked over to the place he was hovering about and started looking in the bushes.

Still she couldn’t find anything maybe somebody already go the egg that way laying around here? She didn’t want to give up because it was Artemis here first Easter and she wanted to get here something even if it was only a chocolate egg. She looked over to some dry flower beds and walked over to them

“Come Artemis maybe we will have some more luck here! If we won’t want anything this time I will go get something to drink so you can try again!”

She sat down again and started looking around. The gardens where getting preaty crowded with all these people around but she didn’t mind, she loved having so many people around to talk to and maybe find somebody to play with Artemis.

Sara was beginning to get frustrated with her egg-search. She guessed that she hadn't missed out on a lot as a child, if this was all there was to egg hunting.

She smirked at herself, and chastised herself for letting a child's game make her feel stupid. She decided to lighten up and enjoy the day more.

The sun shone down on her back as she searched, a pleasant feeling. A slight breeze gusted her face, causing the temperature to seem almost perfect. Her eyes darted around as she continued searching.

Both children and adults darted to and fro, trampling the plush green grass. Sara hoped that they weren't smooshing any eggs in their excitement. It would be just her luck to find a crushed egg!

Sara laughed to herself as she thought of crumbly colored egg fragments. She thought that she might like to try and decorate an egg sometime, herself.

A small white butterfly caught Sara's eye as it flitted past. She smiled, and stepped off in the direction of the butterfly. She laughed inside at the frantic fluttering that sent the insect jerking back and forth in a drunken spiral.

"Lead on, butterfly!" she said aloud. "Lead me to the eggs."

Any observer could not have been more suprised than Sara Two-moons, when the little white butterfly carefully lighted down on the tip-top of a perfect round egg! Her eyes widened, and she knelt down beside the egg almost reverently.

The earth spirits were listening to her!

She shook the thought away, deciding it was silly. Why, after all, would the gods of her ancestors would want to help her out with an easter egg hunt of all things?

The butterfly opened and closed its wings slowly as Sara knelt closer, careful not to startle it.

"Look, Too-ya-la-kekt..." she whispered to the whisp from the tip of her wand. "Sister Butterfly is saying hello..."

"The most I know about parenting is take them to the park and let them kill each other," Kierla admitted.

Then she shook her head. "No, no...I'm sick of the fool bugging me to go look for those stupid eggs, by now," Kierla said, (half) joking. "And perhaps they do have somewhat of a sense. Sometimes, Aricia as a wisp would seem to nod at something I say, but I don't really know if it was nodding or it was just the wind."

Kierla blinked. "Really, you don't mind. I'll look for eggs with you, then. It's better than looking for them alone, anyhow, or with that insufferable pink nuisance of a ghost."

Apparently she wasn't too fond of her little Pegasus ghost...

"My sister threatened to bulldozer my house if I don't bring back a lot of eggs," Kierla explained, as she looked through the grass and took a bite of her sandwich. "Do you have any siblings?" Kierla tried to imagine many more of strange butterfly-human creatures.

"Well that works too...As long as there isn't a lot of bloodshed, have at it." Neveah laughed, her angled eyes closing gleefully at her partial joke. Looking back down at the spiderling, who had gone momentarily still in the grass, she leaned her head to the side. "It hasn't nodded yet, perse...but it goes kind of bump into me when I'm upset, or when it just feels like it..." It felt really strange, having a puff of purple smoke bump into you...it was kind of cold!

"Incase you hadn't noticed, I'm a chatterbox myself!" Laughing, the butterfly started to part the grass again, once the spiderling began to wiggle through as it had before. "I don't mind the spiderling so far...but if they do get annoying, might as well drop mine off with yours in some child park." What was that called, again? Playdates?

"Your sister would really do that? Why not just buy painted plastic ones and say you found them?" That made sense to her, anyway. At the mention of siblings however, she looked purely thoughtful. "I think I have siblings. I know I was the youngest out of fourteen, but I haven't seen any of them for three years because of my job. I don't even know where they live anymore!" She was torn between being depressed and being amused over this. "Do you only have your sister?"

Considering how big the fountain was and that the stupid lily pads kept messing up her echo She knew Kishi was unlikely to try and move as long as she wasn't left alone too long. Besides her sister was still amusing herself by licking eggs for the most part.

Damn, damn, damn. Nothing yet. His kin would laugh at him. Not that he cared. But still, he liked the idea of attacking the other guests, and if he was going to join in, he'd have to have an egg. More determained than ever, Savius dug through the bushes, not minding the damage he was doing to the plants.

Maybe having three deaths together in a garden wasn't such a good idea.

Sara Two-moons scooped up the smalle blue lightning-blazed egg, and held it before the whisp. Could whisps see? She wasn't certain.

"Look, Too-ya-la-kekt!" she exclaimed, shaking the egg softly so it jingled. "An egg with your mark... and there is something inside!"

Manuevering both wand and egg, Sara juggled both until she managed to open the egg. She was suprised to see a silver pendant in the shape of a thunderbird fall out into her palm.

She was stunned for a moment as she beheld the lovely gift. "This is your egg, and Butterfly knew it!"

The day was turning out well - already off to a good start. Still marveling from the lovely pendant inside the egg, Sara Two-moons set off to see if she could find some new people to meet - she hadn't mingled very much with any of the other guardians and wanted to change that.

Antonio continued on his hunt for an egg for Abrihet, already determined to give the money he'd found to Amparo, and keep the fluffy ball for himself. He hummed as he looked, eyes narrowed in thought and concentration.

Damn if Abrihet wasn't going to get something out of this! Antonio rose and brushed his pants off, and then was down on his knees again, nearly on his belly, so that he wouldn't miss any egg that came in his path. He frowned quietly as he moved. One was somewhere around here, he could feel it.

Journal Entry o4.

Quote:

Amparo sat at the desk, rubbing her eyes sleepily as she dug the journal out to write in.

Quote:

I'm tired. So very tired. Inexplicitly, without a doubt... Tired. I fear for my safety, the safety of Jonathan, the safety of Antonio, and the safety of Abrihet, my little baby ghost.

She's floated behind me for so long, I wonder how long it will be before she becomes a little baby for me to care for. I'm scared for her safety, as for the rest. Holt is going mad, I know he is. For this, I am running.

Antonio is coming with me, but Jonathan has argued that he wishes to stay. I love him, but if he wishes it, I cannot force him to leave. I will take my things, my Abrihet and my Antonio, and move us away from here. I love my little ones too much to let them be hurt.

Antonio knows something is wrong. What, he isn't sure of, but I know he knows I'm afraid. I sleep with weapons now, and I've taught him to do this same. I cannot write much, only that I will be leaving Durem and going someplace else, someplace where no one will harm us.

I love you, little Abrihet, and when you are old enough you will read this and know how much I love you. I must stop writing, my eyes are pained and I'm tired.

I will pack our things and leave in the morning. I will find a place to stay in Barton, where they won't look for me. Or perhaps in the country sides near one of the lakes. I'll find a place and leave.

Until later...
Amparo

Amparo sighed and closed the book, then rose and began to pack quickly. She could hear gunshots, but if it was in her head or not, she wasn't sure.

o9. A Red Crocodile, and a Baby.

Quote:
Amparo Fernandez had worked hard redoing the entire house she’d moved into with Antonio and Jonathan. Jonathan’s apartment over the garage had been completed; Antonio’s room was equipped now with a weapon storage room that was easily accessed, but locked currently. (He was just a kid, now!) And Amparo had torn two rooms apart.

The master bedroom had a bathroom off of it, and beside the bathroom, was a closet. The closet was a large walk in closet, and thus… Amparo began to tear it down. Piece by piece, the wall came crashing down, and Amparo had destroyed the wall blocking the closet off from her. She had two men come in and fill in part of the large walk in closet, and it now resembled a little alcove. The wall of the alcove was fixed, making a very large dome entrance that hid nothing. It was just for show, and easier on the eyes for painting.

This alcove could fit a crib, a dresser, and a few little knickknacks. This alcove would fit a crib and dresser, plus a few knickknacks. Of which, Amparo had gone out to buy. Her mother helped her find a crib, which her grandmother christened of course with a special ritual to bring good health to the baby.

Amparo brought the crib home the next day, fit with a mattress. It also set a color pallet for her to use. The crib itself was mahogany, and stained a beautiful dark color. The mattress inside was a light green color, to which the baby ghost that was constantly behind Amparo seemed to thrum in her head. Before she could put the crib into the room, however, she had to paint it.

Amparo had gone to the store and picked out a bright vibrant green, and then… Had no say. Antonio took over the painting, and after a very long day of detailing and stenciling, Antonio had painted the entire room a pastel green, and had detailed a very large swamp tree in the room. To say the least, Amparo was impressed and amused. She had a feeling Antonio would be taking care of the baby more than his share. At her look, Antonio just said… "Well. She’s my sister, right?" He grinned crookedly.

Amparo had no arguments.

The next day, she went out and finished shopping with money Jonathan gave her to get her and the baby ghost out of the house. She bought everything she could need for the baby, and a few stuffed animals for her as well. When she came home with the various things and went upstairs to put them away, everything had been set up.

The crib was in the middle of the room, closer to the door, and took up enough space so that she could fit behind it to the dresser behind the crib. Inside were baby clothes of a variety of sizes, because who knew how big the baby would be. Everything was set up, missing only what Amparo had gone out to buy.

She embraced both of the guys, giving them noogies with a grin. "Thank you guys." She muttered into Jonathan's hair, doing the same to Antonio. They both shrugged innocently and left, grinning. Amparo smiled at the baby ghost behind her. "Well, looks like your crib's all set up, sweetie." She smiled at her gently, and then started to set up the various things she'd gotten. She put three packages of diapers in a corner out of the way, and put a few more pairs of booties and whatnot in the dresser.

Sighing softly, she laid the few stuffed animals she got; a pink elephant, a red crocodile, and a bluebird; and put them inside the crib. Finally done with it, she grinned and walked to her bed, sitting down. For once, the baby ghost didn't hover over. The ghost baby hovered over her crib, looking curiously at the red crocodile.

The entire room seemed to suddenly grow hotter, and Amparo got up quickly to go over to the baby ghost. Except, when the heat finally died down to the point where she could open her eyes and see… The baby ghost wasn't there anymore! In its place was a bubbling baby girl. Her eyes went wide. "Oh… Oh my god… Antonio!" She yelled. "Antonio, Jonathan!"

Both boys bolted in, almost in a panicked expression. Amparo held Abrihet to her chest, almost in tears. "Oh my sweet little baby." She whispered, kissing her head. Abrihet frowned curiously at Antonio, and grabbed out at his hair when he was close enough. Antonio grinned a little at Abrihet.

"So this was what we were fussin' over so much?" He asked, holding his arms out. Amparo gave the baby to Antonio, who held her up and made a face at her, grinning. Abrihet grinned and grabbed his nose, laughing. He wiggled his nose under her hand and laughed quietly.

Jonathan grinned, watching from the door. Amparo glanced over. "You're part of this family too, Jonny. Get over here." Jonathan pushed off the door with a sheepish grin and went over. Abrihet slid right out of Antonio's arms and into Jonathan's. She administered the same treatment to him, grabbing his nose and giggling hysterically. Jonathan wiggled his nose, and grinned a little. "Well, what's her name?"

Amparo smiled, and watched the baby quietly. The baby looked over at Amparo, and whined a little, holding her arms out. Amparo took the baby and held her comfortably. "Abrihet. Her name is Abrihet."

Amparo looked at Antonio. "Do you know how to make formula, sweetie?" He shook his head sheepishly. Jonathan piped up.

"I'll go do it. C'mon, Antonio. I'll show you how." The boys left, leaving Amparo holding Abrihet quietly. She smiled at her. "Should get you in a diaper, huh baby?" Abrihet frowned at her, and wiggled a little while she was carried to her crib. Amparo put a diaper on her, and Abrihet pulled at it. She already didn’t like it. Amparo laughed quietly. "Sorry baby, but you have to wear one.”

A few minutes later, Jonathan came up with the formula bottle, and held it out. Amparo gave the bottle to Abrihet, who took it and immediately popped the n****e of the bottle into her mouth. Amparo laughed softly and held her while she drank the bottle, sitting on the bed.

Antonio watched. "I'm gonna go." He whispered, watching the baby. Amparo nodded to both Jonathan and Antonio, who left again, and simply sat, rocking the baby in her arms. When the baby was finally sleeping, she laid Abrihet in her crib and covered her up. Abrihet immediately grabbed for one of the stuffed animals in her sleep: A red crocodile.

o10. Saying Goodbye?!

Quote:

"I know you'll miss me." Amparo sighed, and hugged Antonio close. "But you're old enough to take care of your sister, sweetie. And it's not forever." She promised, smiling at him. "I just need to go for a little while for this job." Antonio knew better. He sighed, and shifted Abrihet on his side, holding her gently.

"I'll miss you, Mom." He smiled gently, and held out Abrihet so she could get her goodbyes in. The baby gurgled, and clung to her Mom, sniffling. Amparo hugged her tight, and handed her off to Jonathan, sighing. Antonio moved in, quietly, and hugged her tightly. "You promise to come back soon?"

"I swear. I'll call every week, and I'll try to come home as soon as I can, sweetie." Amparo smiled, and kissed his cheek. Antonio nodded, and took Abrihet quietly, stepping back.

"You don't have t'go, Amp." Jonathan smiled slightly and hugged her. "Please don't go?" This would be twice he's lost someone. At least this one wouldn't be so bloody gruesome.

Amparo shook her head. "I have to. Holt's orders personally, sweetie. Please, understand?" She kissed him lightly, and Jon sighed.

"Not much choice, yeah?" He stepped back, one arm moving around Jonathan and Abrihet. Amparo smiled gently at them, and grabbed her carry on bag. She started walking towards the exit for her plane, and Antonio didn't notice Abrihet beginning to cry until Jonathan nudged him.

He sighed, and hugged Abrihet gently, starting to walk towards the parking lot for their car. Abrihet clung to her brother, sobbing weakly. Antonio ignored the crying for the most part, and gave her her bottle silently.

Jonathan looked at him. "You okay, kid?"

"Just fine." Antonio got in the back with Abrihet, and buckled himself in. Jonathan sighed, and got in, starting to drive back home.

Antonio watched silently as the plane took off, and his eyes darkened. He kissed Abrihet's forehead. "I'll take care of us, Abri." He mumbled softly, staring out the window. Abrihet settled in, and began to drift away.
