Black Diamonds and Garnet Milan watched as Ashra let out a deep sigh the faint tang of magic surrounfing him until all that as left was his body sleeping soundly. She closed her eyes and smiled slightly as she sensed where his mental self went. "Take good care of him Quinn..." she murmured not caring that she was speaking to about another 'child', "He's weaker than he says..."
Ashra slowly slipped inside Quinn's mind with the help of his Cord, "Interesting how you phrased that..." he replied looking at him in amusement, "It is not a test, more like a lesson. Yes...that is what it will be called for you can't teach yourself such a power like did. I'm special." for once he looked almost like a smug child at those words that either was a joke at his own expense or Quinn's.
Just as it came, the smugness disappeared and those golden eyes flashed, "First things first, you will have to learn how to summon Life's Flow own your own, but since that will take time, I will help you. Have you any experience in casting multiple spells with one breath? It is what you saw me do before, but now that I am here to help you, your spells will be slightly different." he slowly began to walk towards Quinn, his own golden cord slowly circling around him and twining itself around Quinn's, "This will be a form of possession you will have to be willing to give in to. It's the only way you will learn without a millenia of training and I don't have the patience or the time for that." his hand lifted and offered itself to Quinn, "Shall we begin?" Quinn couldn't help but smile. He couldn't teach himself? So far, there had only been one thing in life that he wasn't able to teach himself. And the teaching, if you could even call it that, only took one lesson. From there, he did the rest himself. He figured out the advanced techniques of his art through trial and error, through meditation, and through focus.
"You would be surprised what one learns through observation. We all learn at our own pace, and in our own way. Call it what you will."
Quinn had already been hard at work, testing and manipulating his new powers. He worked with the energy of the world, working to figure out exactly how that energy flowed. He was making progress, even with just a few hours of meditation. He could see the flow already; he could touch it and learn from it; he was having troubles learning to manipulate it like Ashra did for Vincent's Awakening.
Quinn continued to listen to Ashra's words, and the thought of someone possessing him brought a smile to his face. If anyone had the power to possess a Rith-Kiran, then it would have been the Balancer Child. But it wouldn't be a possession. Quinn took his conscious mind and stepped aside, giving Ashra full use of his body. Quinn was still very much in control. If he wanted his body back, he could easily take it. But why would he pass up the chance to learn something?
Allow me to observe, Ashra. Quinn finally answered the child leader's question, Start with the complex, and I can reverse most everything from there. Please begin, and Awaken the tenth leader, the leader that Troden forced into slumber.

"Was being the key word," Vincent murmured, the trademark grin returning, "Monaleth did a number on him and the others from what I saw. I wonder what the rest of her people are like..." he trailled off, mildly distracted by her attentions, "Remind me to thank them properly then," he answered, his gaze filling with amusement at the mention of Aurora, "She isn't the only whose been drinking up the chaos. I had a small encounter with one Dorien's 'relations'." he smirked, pretty sure the glitter was still in his hair, "But alas, the more we speak of the Ten, the more I realize I am late to my own meeting with the others. Fiora is going to be angry as it is due to Troden's actions, so being late to reawakening her will be quite a trial in and of itself."
He sighed before slipping off the bed, the darkness clothing him once again, "I'll have to overdress once again but that doesn't mean you have to. The blanket suits you well..." he finished with a wink before melding into the darkness once again.
--
[I'll be taking over the Ten for Fiora's Awakening and then those who are in control of a Leader will regain their power afterwards.]
Ashra smirked before allowing the golden and pale blue Cords to meld together comepletely. Quinn's eyes took a golden sheen to it as Ashra took over, his hair darkening slighlty. Ashra didn't take time to look at this transformation for even if he wanted to, the others were appearing.
Emit walked towards Ashra with narrowed eyes. He had finally reliquished his human form for is true elemental form. He towered over the child, rivalling the tallest trees within Signet in height. His formerly dark skin was now a mixture of soil and roots that threatened to plant him to the ground even as Ashra watched. Green eyes and became the leaves growing from him. As for hair...well he never had any.
Ashra would have had a few choice words to say to the earth elemental if he was in his own body, but he wasn't so sure if Quinn could take a punch from the Leader so he kept his mouth shut. Moneko's appearance also kept his thoughts to himself. The second Leader could be rather intimidating when she wanted to be. He then watched as Dorien reappeared at Moneko's side followed by the others, the last of which was Vincent, who always seemed to be late reguardless of an event's importance.
Black eye met gold as Vincent looked through Quinn's body to the Leader within, "So your training the hard way eh?" he murmured, arching an eyebrow, "Are you sure he can handle an Awakening?"
Ashra smirked before moving the center of the group and raised Quinn's hands the Cords appearing infront of him, "Of course he can. This is easy. It dealing with Life itself that is hard." and with that, he closed his eyes just as Vincent and the others began to send their energy towards Quinn's body as Ashra began to search the single cord of Fiora through the many that lay before him.
His speed once again began to increase as he found the firey red cord strangely tangled tightly with many others. A Balancer's main purpose is to keep Life's Flow going, never letting it stop for when a person dies, their Cords simply fade away. What is left is what returns to the eternal Cord known as Time. Ashra said as he began to use the added strength the others gave him to carefully untangle Fiora's Cord from the binding spell that held her flow so tightly. If he made the slightest mistake, he could kill her in an instant or have those very cords bind him and Quinn within the Flow. This purpose can easily corrupt anyone for we are given powers far beyond any mere mortal or immortal, which is why there are so few Balancers within the universe. We quite literally manipulate what is going on and can make more accurate guesses of what is happening in the future than the most talented fortuneteller. You and I will be the only two within this realm. I will not allow anyone else to be one until I die. I don;t believe I have to tell you not to create another Balancer until you yourself are a master of your abilities.
The last binding cord was cut. Now came the truly hard part, Awakening Fiora without having her no free powers incinerating all of Signet. What I am about to do now is the closest I will ever get to truly manipulating space and time Quinn. he said as he pressed two ingers against Quinn's forehead. Watch well how this can easily turn a Blancer free of corruption to one drunk on power...
Eight single strands came from each leader, each a different color as it connected itself to their foreheads to Quinn's fingers. Ashra closed his eyes, frowning in concentration as he grabbed Fiora's now blazing Cord and forced surrounded it with the Leader's Cords, thereby forcing the power into submission as the portal from before opened up in the sky, revealing Fiora's tomb as it blazed in the sky. Flames shot forth a threatened to eat them alive, but not before Ashra use the Ten's threads to forced it back in upon itself, making the power slowly reform back into the fire elemental know as Fiora with the rest of the Ten's own power.
It was only when Fiora had left the tomb which had once again faded away into its other realm and settled beside Vincent that Ashra finally let go of the Fiora's Cord and released the others powers. He slowly opened Quinn's eyes and watched as Vincent and the others shook their heads as the Cords returned to their rightful place, "It took you a little longer to let go of those powers this time didn't Ashra?" Vincent joked, watching as Ashra rolled Quinn's eyes, "You are giving into temptation after only six millenia are you?"
"Youre lucky I'm not in my true body right now Vincent for you just might not have gotten your power back." Ashra answered with a smirk before giving Quinn back control of his body. This lesson on Awakening a Leader can be used on anyone, the energy needed to bring a person ot varying of course. Did you catch everything Quinn or do we need to try something easier? Ashra asked with a laugh.

She chuckled and slipped out from under the covers and crawled to the foot of the bed then slithered to the floor. That accomplished she stretched her hands up above her head and sighed, "I'll come." She replied finally sauntering over to her closet. She pulled one of her older dresses, they'd been big in France in the 1800's. She slipped it on, a black comb appearing in her hand so she could run it through her hair a few times then it vanished. She sighed, smoothing the ruffles of the skirt and turning to inspect herself, "How do I look?" She asked.

"Stunning as usual, but I believe the blanket made a better statement" came Vincent's amused reply as he returned to the Nocturne, "It took longer than I thought it would, but Fiora has been Awakened as the smell of smoke on my clothes must suggest. As said before, she's very angry but Dorien too it upon himself to train with her until she calms down. Strangely mature of the elf if you ask me."

She smiled and shook her head, "I don't belive that would be appropriate for the gathering of the seven. Besides, this is the dress I was wearing when I first met you. I thought it appropriate." She said regally, raising a dark brow at him but then he smiled, "Besides, didn't you hear that Dorien is in love?"

One thing Quinn had going for him was the fact that he had already lived his life under the God of Time for so long. As far as he could tell, the same rules applied. A Sage of Time can see things that no other Sage can see; a Sage of Time can do things that no other Sage can do. It is a terrible power and a wonderful gift. In an instant, though, it could turn the user mad. For a hundred or so years, Quinn was able to avoid the insanity.
Everything will be remembered, Ashra. Quinn replied, his ability to keep the shakiness from his voice absolutely astounding, Learning through observation is what I do best.
Quinn didn't agree with everything Ashra said, though. His experiences with the God of Time gave him a different understanding of life's flow, and what happened to a person's energies upon their death. He agreed with Ashra that it was indeed a never-ending, circular path. But for the energies and cords to simply fade away, in Quinn's mind, was an impossibility. Everything had its place at any given point in the grand scheme. Certain things Balancer would not understand; certain things a Sage of Time wouldn't understand. The two together would make for a well-learned, well-versed Balancer very quickly.
If I truly become your Apprentice, Ashra, I question how much I will actually use what I learn. Quinn was being honest. The extra power and ability would be fantastic, but how could he know what judgment call to make? He was hesitant to take that kind of responsibility, and as much as he wanted to hide it he really couldn't, I worry that my judgment will fail me, and I will not act when necessary. As a Sage of Time I understand what it means to manipulate correctly, but I worry that the extra responsibility of handling Life's Flow will deteriorate my decisions.
If any one would be honest in their response to a situation such as that, it would be Ashra. Quinn knew that. And he hoped that the child leader would be able to give him some kind of helpful information. If not, then Quinn didn't know what he would do.

"That would mean he showed emotions other than anger and that is something I simply cannot believe until I see it with my own eyes," Vincent replied as he shook his head at the thought, "But enough about him. I would hear more about what has been going on with the enchanting woman infront of me an undead elf finally showing a bit of love."
--
Ashra closed his eyes slighty as he listened, his head tilted to one side as he became deep in thought. This lasted for while before he finally looked back at Quinn. The amusement and sarcasm was gone, but the smirk still remained as he said, "Quinn, if you were anyone else I would have worried as well, but you are a Sage of Time and with saying that, it will come as no surprise when I say that you are not truly making the decisions hen it comes to Life Flow. You merely follow where it sways."
He lifted his hand and allowed his golden Cord to appear, followed quickly by a small cluster of threads faintly swaying under it, "Do you see how my Cord stays still and rises over the others who effortlessly blend and move back and forth in an eternal motion? That is Life's Flow. We watch over it and make sure it does not topple. In a way, we are the reason good and evil are in a constant battle for neither side can win for long without endangering the Flow of Life. You know this Quinn and with the prior knowledge of being a Sage gives you, the life of a Balancer has been made easier for you."

An earpiercing crunch came as Othello's mania reached its climax. The blizzard he had created within the room decided it needed more space and so it tore through the outside wall. Still battling with himself he jumped out, an impassable fog forming around him as he moved.
Distance... I need to get away from everyone...
And so Othello skated off to find a place where he could gather what wits he still had left...

Without thinking, Quinn held up his own hand and an illusionary image of a Grand Scale appeared. It merged quite nicely with the cords that Ashra brought forth. They also had a rather strange interaction. The cords that represented Life's Flow changed form. They broke apart, and became oddly shaped gems. The scale, almost in response, took on a physical form.
It was a truly bizarre sight. The gems, coming in all shapes, sizes, and colors, began to fall onto the scale. When the number finally dwindled into nothing, the scales was roughly even. Occasionally, quite frequently actually, a gem would raise off the scale and travel to the opposite side.
"It was given to me many years ago, Ashra." Quinn began to explain, "I never had a use for it, and on my occasions considered getting rid of the Scale. But its design intrigued me. I couldn't help but think I would indeed have a use for it one day. Seems I was right. Doesn't it?"
Quinn closed his hand back into a fist, and the process that had occurred slowly reversed itself. The gems raised off the scale, becoming the entwined threads. And then the scale faded out of existence. It fell back into the space that Quinn had secretly stored it in for safe keeping.
"The Scales of Time, The Threads of Life." Quinn mused, "It seems the rest of my existence will be an interesting one. One side cannot win over the other. We cause the battle. The Balancers, those caught in Neutrality."
Quinn sat down on the bench in the park and closed his eyes. He needed some time to think. Life's flow, time's flow, it had all dictated that he become Ashra's apprentice. He was worried. But in time, that worry would go away. It always did.

Ashra nodded, lowering his own hands and allowing the Threads to fade away, "Perhaps now you can understand why I have faith that your decisions will not corrupt you over time. I understand why Yule favors you so Quinn Siddel of the Rith-Kiran. You are a very intersting being." he slowly began to fade from Quinn's mind, his image turning transparent, "In the end, Life and Time are one and he same. There is no true beginning or end of each, and because of this you have always in a sense had this responsilibty. Now is the time to actually do it." he finally disappeared with those words left in Quinn's mind.
Milan breathed a sigh of relief as Ashra's small form brightened considerable and he lay sleeping once again.

Merlin rolled her eyes up to think, "I didn't show that to you, did I?" She murmered then gave an elegant shrug, "She's a decendent of Dorien's female counterpart. The both of them didn't get along so they didn't breed as they were supposed to. It's partially the reason why the elvan race has diminished. She had no clue what she was or who she was but she didn't exhibit the fear most do when they come in contact with Dorian. As soon as I saw that, I had a feeling things were going to look up for Dorien." She chuckled, "You should have seen his face, priceless."

Lodae looked around the room before turning back to Karrot. "Karrot, you still have business here before we can start. I believe you wanted to hold a memorial service for Kaiser Dante?"
Karrot looked up at Lodae after glaring down at the filthy kitchen floors. "Yes, I also must continue with my apprenticeship with Emit. Many things to learn. Many things to do... Many plans to make and people to contact. I'm sure that many would like to attend the services, though Lord Kaiser is still alive in hell... despite how improbable that sounds, it is the least we can do to thank him for his time with us. For all he's done without asking for anthing in return." Karrot looked back at the floor as two drops of black mud fell from his eyes. "I see, so you want to play That song for him then? When was the last time you played that song?" "Before I even met lord Kaiser, ever since, I've never been able to actually start playing the song. But... it is very fitting for him. I'm sure he'd have loved the song, if I had ever been able to play it for him."
(wow, I just poured so much emotion into typing that, I'm leaking from the eyes...)
