Therianthrope- one who believes they have the soul of an animal, or have a human soul and an animal soul/spirit. Essentially an animal in a human body. Definition may vary from person to person- this happens to be mine. I am a Therian myself, although my perception of such may be influenced by my Aspergers. I was wondering if there are any other Therians among this guild? I advise readers to take everything they hear about Therians with a bit of salt (there was one ranting and raving here on Gaia about how we're the "Defenders of the Human race"). Seperating the wisdom from the spam can take some serious work. EDIT: This forum is an excellent source of serious Therian material fro people who understand it much better than I. Hey Ten Words, I'm also therian. I tried to check out the forum, but it keeps telling me there are no posts.. do I have to register just to read it? There is a therianthropy guild on Gaia, too. 0-0 I didn't know there was a Therian guild...
You shouldn't have to join to see the posts... The only thing i can think of is make sure you computer clock isn't set ahead a year, as it would count all posts as "old".

Nope, that's not the case. I even changed the settings to include topics from the beginning, they still aren't showing up. Everything appears to be locked. I might as well register, though I don't know if I'll stay or not, as I have too many forums already sweatdrop Are you registered on there? Also, what type of therian are you?

I'm an avian, although what exactly has become hazier over the past year or so. I am registered there- it was the first thing I did, so I guess I didn't see if it was necesary sweatdrop

Too bad as well- i posted a particular situation there that I didn't quite... trust to the Therians of gaia quite yet. The only reason I posted it there was because the users i remembered, Jakkal, Shen, and a few others, were recent posters.

I know a person, though I wouldn't exactly call her a friend, who seems to think she has a cat spirit and is obsessed with cats. It's quite strange and annoying, as that and hyroglyphics is all she talks about... stare

That certainly sounds like an aspie level of obsession, especially with the talking part. As for the cat spirit part, ask her to explain more about it. It takes a good ear and a level head to get any deeper meaning of it, but it might help you understand them better.

Eh... I'm not sure if I am or not... as a child, I was always obsessing over dogs, I seriously acted like one as well, constantly, I would crawl on the ground until the 4th grade, barking and such, looking back on it, that's probably why I cannot climb the second flight of stairs without crawling or hunching over a lot...

Therianthropy? Beats me. That's weird stuff for me.
It seems like theianthropy is closely related to the otherkin culture, as far as I can see from Wikipedia's entry. It also says the most common form of that, at least in Western lore, is lychanthropy. I could find out more, but it's too late to do that and I have to get up tomorrow at 8:00 AM.
