This is folklore and is untrue for me at least. ( upon seeing this thread i went and tried it myself and nothing happened). granted it is very difficult to completely disprove since the lore claims that the results differ depending on the person. so i guess bloody Mary wins for now round 2 starts at midnight.

seen it, done it, got the tee shirt. it is completely psychosomatic. if any real death has happened then it is more or less due to fright than a paranormal event. now then when things start moving on their own accord and I start getting the chills and hear things that shouldn't be happening when i would do the whole bloody mary thing, yea then i'll explore it with some respect and aknewfound knowledge for the legend itself. untill then....it aint real.

Dazzler Nicky McCloud Dazzler I know the english verison on Bloody Mary. It's pretty much the same, you stand infront of the bathroom mirror and say Bloody Mary three times and she'll appear; you'll then die in some many days time or soemthing. I forget the ending. But in here in england Bloody Mary is linked to Mary Queen Of Scotts. She got the nickname Bloody Mary as her favourite punishment for prisoners was to chop off their heads. Then again that could of come from her sister Queen Elizabeth blacking her name. Either way it's a good story. Isn't that the monarch who tried to switch England's national religion from Church of England back to Catholicism, after Henry VIII, Edward VI, Lady Jane? The version I'd heard of the Bloody Mary tale, despite living in the Southeastern US, always involved the English "Bloody Mary." ... If it's the one I'm thinking of... Yes that's the one. She was the siser of Queen Elizabeth I. And as far as switching religion goes I think all our kings and queen swtiched it at one point. that is what I heard. That if you said her name at three AM in front of a mirror on halloween mary (mary I of England, the one you mentioned) woud appear reflected on the mirror and kill you. I don't believe it though.

Matthew Moore Hardy I heard one where her daughter had been murdered by some teens,and she now kills kids who say Bloody Mary in a dark room with a mirror 3 times,she'll take you into the mirror.Though,I have disclosed this myth fake,for I have tried it. i have heard the same thing about her daughter getting killed, but heres the story i heard... There was a girl named mary, she was a single mother. She loved her daughter with all her heart (her daughters name is unknown). One night she dropped her daughter off at one of her friends houses, and near midnight they killed the daughter. To get revenge, Mary stabbed all four of her daughters "freinds"/ murderers in front of a mirror, and watch them bleed to death. She then killed herself because she could not think of living in a world without her daughter. Now if you say " Bloody Mary i killed your daughter" 3 times in the dark, in front of a mirror, she will appear holding a bloody knife. thats what i heard, and im to scared to try it.

I too have done this and it has yet to work.
The version I go by is.
Long ago their was a young girl named Mary who was very beautiful her most prized possession was a small hand mirror of shiny gold. On her birthday some younger children from the party had broken it along with her heart, that night she locked herself in bathroom and cried with out the mirror she felt ugly and committed suicide by stabbing her heart 3 times, the blood from wounds fell over her broken mirror which she held against her chest in her final moments. The next day her father called firemen to knock down the door and when they did they found her body and mirror blood stained.
Mary was given a proper funeral and her father had the mirror fixed but the blood stain never came off the glass.
Now it is rumored if you go into your bathroom {if it has a mirror} when everyone is asleep and lock the door, light 12 red candles {how old she was when she died supposably} ,at midnight and say bloody mary 3 times while staring directly into the mirror she will come and stab your heart 3 times, thinking your the small children that broke her precious mirror. It is also rumored if you bring one friend and do the usual ritual then duck down she will cut off your friends head and fin yourself holding it in your arms the next morning.

When I was around 8 or 9 I had a sleepover with my friend on Halloween with her cousin, and we did it. We saw something but we think it was her brother and his friends. We saw a weird face that looked like his costume, but the eyes looked freakier. We then were scared to go to the bathroom so we had someone stand outside the door when someone went. The version I know, is kinda long. but this is the version I know from a website.

for those of you who dont beleve in bloody mary, read this and it might change your mind!! it is one of my experiences with bloody mary and it is 100% true! i swear!
it was a weekend in fall and two of my friends and I were spending the night at my friend's house. I'm referring to them as "Sam" and "Natalie".
We were sitting in "Natalie's" dark house at night bored out of our minds. She has a creepy scary dark house, and we were already sorta freaked out as it was. We started to talk about urban legends like candy man, baby blue, bloody mary..etc. then we started a game of truth or dare. Me and "Natalie" dared "Sam" to do bloody mary in the bathroom. We explained to her the rules. She has to go in the bathroom and say the name bloody mary in the mirror until something would appear.
So, being "Sam's" brave self, she did. me and "Natalie" waited for her for about 5 minutes, then we went to go check on her. As soon as we got by the bathroom door, she walked out claiming nothing had happened and she didn't see anything.
Then out of nowhere, a huge cut started appearing down her forehead. Me and "Natalie" screamed and told her to go look at it in the mirror. she didn't see anything, but every other person we asked did. We know what we saw was real because like I said, everyone else saw it too....except for "Sam". It has been 3 years, and til this day she still doesn't beleve us. She still even has the scar.

Here is the version of Bloody Mary I know:
A girl, age 15, had a tyrant of a father. He beat her mother, and her. This made the girl scared, so one day she took a knife and went to kill her dad. When she cut him, he grabbed the knife, and chased the girl into the bathroom. In her hast, she ran into the mirror,she lay there cut up and bleed to death. So whenever someone walks into a bathroom, turns off the lights and says her name three times, she appears, bloodied and bruised. Some told me you would die if you saw her, some said you would switch places.
When I was little I either had a very active imagination, or I was very intune with spirits and other demensions. When ever I went into the bathroom to preform the ritual, I would see a girl pop up, I would ask her her name, and she would say Mary. I would tell her I was sorry that people kept bothering her. We would talk. I found out her favorite color was blue. She liked to dance, and she was not related to Bloody Mary, Queen of Scotts. We became good friends.
A couple months after, I woke up in my bathroom, I had had a dream of Mary and me, she had told me she had to leave, that she would be gone for awile. I tried to talk to her once after that. She didn't come.

Well I've heard a few versions, the one I know most is that a girl named Mary had supposedly died of an illness and they buried her with one of those little grave bells (if the person isn't really dead then when they wake up they'll ring the bell and alert whoever is watching). Her parents would take turns watching over the grave until one night when it had been too cold or raining or something and they went inside. Next morning the bell had been rung off its hook and when they dug Mary up she was dead. She'd been scratching the lid of the coffin until her fingers were bloody
