Probably because they're mostly in box sets; box sets are usually kind of pricey. If you MUST get yout MST3K fix, but don't have enough funds to get it new, I suggest finding a shop that sells used DVDs or VHS tapes and the like, and see if they have any. (I know of a couple in the city I live in, and I see MST3K vids on occasion)
Downloading is another alternative, but only if you have a high-speed connection. And I would argue against getting any episode that's already been released on video; it's better if you support Rhino putting more MST3K out there to the general public. So if you DO download, make sure that what you're downloading hasn't been released to home video, okay?

Always better to support the legal releases. 3nodding Although there's a group of fans doing their own MST3K projects; you might be able to find the link in the forum somewhere if you look hard enough... wink

I have to agree that MST3K DVD's are rather expensive. Most one episode discs are 30 bucks. I think that its because of how cult it is. Rhino knows that anyone who loves MST enough to spend money on it is willing to spend a lot of money on it, and screw them for being so right in my case!

If you have Netflix, you can get individual episodes on there....

You know at the end of the credits?
Keep circulating tapes?
Some people don't listen. That's why they cost money. And because some people have something against bootlegs.

Change (Revolution) You know at the end of the credits? Keep circulating tapes? Some people don't listen. That's why they cost money. And because some people have something against bootlegs. I think it's gotten to be something like fansubs; if something's not licensed, it's okay to download and what not, but once it's been licensed, it's verboted to get any other way than commercially. *sigh*
