-breathes life into the sticky-
I'm looking for a book of Japanese fairy tales. But, I'm trying to find one that's not too... how to put it? Westernized. I would really like to read good translations of tales, to have stories that stay as true to the original as possible.
Anyone know of a good book?

However, If you've ever played a game called "Okami" the original PS2 version had a little booklet inside it with a lot (not all) of the mithos behind the game explained. I got an art book for the game that is recently published, and it does a wonderful job of explaining a lot of mithos behind the opponents you face in the game (lots of Oni and imp tales.) As well as many of the main characters being based on shinto mythology. It's not much (Lots of foot notes compared to full epic stories, but that's kind of how Japanese myths are ), but it's the best bet I know of if you want some Japanese old school in your life (Outside of just talking to your Asian friends.)
