Aislinn hadn't even realized she'd neglected to put on her shoes. She was like that sometimes.
The woman settled against her friend, enjoying his company at least until they got things started. Maybe this wasn't -really- an official date or anything, but she did enjoy hanging out with the big guy. She'd missed seeing him in the time they'd been doing their own things.
"That's true. We could start up a movie in the Entertainment room, and when we get bored, we can go to the beach maybe."
Even though she had thought it an option before, the beach was starting to sound unappealing. afterall, she'd have to shed a few items of clothing she'd rather keep on, given the state of her body now.

"If you wouldn't mind," she quickly responded with a slightly anxious tone, slipping back into her duplex with a decisive close of the door, perhaps the fastest disappearance she'd done yet. Leaning against her door, she slid to the ground, her face as red as ever and her breathing giddy, shallow gasps. She was up a second later, though, going through all the clothes she could in a frantic sweep of the entire room. It had to be sexy, of course, but she couldn't show off too much, what if Gaius wanted her to stay conservative, but either way, it needed to be cute and accent her eyes...wait, when did she start thinking like her preppy college room-mate?
She blinked for a moment, trying to calm down, but her heart was doing back-flips in her throat. Get it together, Sophie, you can do this...Oh God, what if you can't do this??? She did a final sift through the many colored items, then finally selected a polo shirt that covered most of the fur on her shoulders, but still showed off her lanky arms, which were just the slightest bit thinner since before her transformation. She also stuck with the khaki shorts: yeah, it showed the peach fuzz on her thighs, but Gaius had been there to see her transform, it wasn't as if she needed to hide it from him.
Slipping off her hat and on her new flip-flops, she bounded out the door, closing it behind her like an excited child ready to visit Disney World for the first time. "Okay...I think this'll work. Shall we go?" She added an amusing tone to her voice on the last sentence, looking up at him with bright eyes.

Oz seemed to be looking intently at his shoes, as if trying burn holes in them or see straight through them. He wiggled them, and winced at the sight of the position of his big toe - it had started to elongate and move further apart from his other toes in his recent change.
"Well, knowing Gaius, he'd have spent the last..ooh..." and he looked at his watch, "hour or so agonising over asking Sophie. And then she'll spend the next 30mins or so getting ready."
He chuckled, trying to cling onto humanity for as long as possible. The day he'd start to refer to his own animal habits, or those of others, would be the day that Oz would accept his fate. Until, he'd keep trying to deny what was happening by any means necessary...even if that meant ignoring what was happening to himself and others.
He stood up with a grunt and sigh, rolling his broadened shoulders and keeping his back straight, despite the urge to hunch over slightly.
"We should really go track them down, make sure Gaius hasn't fainted or something."

The minute Sophie closed the door, Gaius felt all the adrenaline and nerves and excitement boiling up in him until he couldn't stand it any longer. With a broad grin, Gaius pumped the air with a fist and a happy hop. "Yes!!" Ack, hope she didn't hear that...
It was almost enough to overwhelm the simple man. He'd... he'd DONE it! He'd asked Sophie out! And she'd said yes! She said YES! It'd been ages since he felt this way about anyone. It was the best thing he'd felt since he'd come to this cursed island. Changes be damned, he was happy!
Gaius was still boogieing in silent glee when she came out. Grinning like a boy in a toy store, he turned to see her and nodded in approval. "You look great, as always!" Holding out his hand to grasp hers, he nodded toward the meeting place. "We'd best hurry, don't want to keep Ais and Oz waiting any longer!" With that, he lead her off on their 'date.'

Grasping his hands, Sophie let out a content sigh, leaning against Gaius's fuzzy forearm as she walked. She wondered how something like this could've come up so fast, could've simply started by him carrying her at a party she wasn't even supposed to be at.
Screw narcolepsy: she was going to parties more often.
She thought she would be the same way no matter what, but the moment she and Gaius stepped into the room where Oz and Aislinn were, her shy switch turned on again, and she used waving to the other couple as her excuse to let go of his hand, just for a moment.
"Hey, guys. Sorry we're late."

Aislinn was about to haul herself to her feet when Sophie and Gaius showed up. With a half-grin that would make anyone who'd been teased as a child shudder, she used Oz's to push herself up into a standing position and waved at the two,
"Ahhhh, so the lovebirds have finally decided to join us!" she would start off easy. It wasn't that she was really going to try to be mean-- she just thought a little light-hearted teasing would get them blushy and bewildered, and when isn't that fun?

Oz watched the two approach, unable to accept their changes. His face frowned for a split-second, barely noticeable to anyone who had more pressing matters on their mind, when that trademark cheeky smile returned. His own change was well hidden underneath his long-sleeved shirt, save for the remnants of extra hair on his face that he'd successfully shaved off.
"Hehe, how long does it take to ask a girl out?" he teased Gaius.

Gaius's reaction couldn't have been better. Bright blush spread across his face and he winced sheepishly, embarassed by the teasing attention.
"Aw, come on... I didn't take that long! I mean... it was kinda last minute, but still! I didn't chicken out!"
The poor boy was too occupied with squirming to notice the others' changes, or how they covered them. He'd seen the two earlier, though, so it wasn't about to surprise him.
Instead, he fidgeted with his hands, rubbing his capped fingers together awkwardly. "So, uh, er... what's the plan?"

It seemed Sophie was imitating Gaius, as a bright red blush spread across her face as well, and she stopped walking, putting a hand to her cheek in embarassment. She tried to speak, but nothing could really form in her mind, she was in such a mode of panic. "Oh, em...I don't see any birds around here..." She tugged at her ears, a tad embarassed about the fact that they were out in the open as well. "Believe it or not, these aren't wings..."
Sophie felt light-headed: sure, she liked being put on the spot, but only when it was on her terms. Teasing was not fun in any way, shape, or form.

Aislinn giggled, clapping Sophie on the shoulder good-naturedly,
"You could've fooled me!" she flipped the ear gently and then returned her hands to sit on her waist,
"Well. We thought we'd just hit up the entertainment room for a movie first...then maybe hit the beach later on."
Yeah, beach was out unless everyone really liked that idea, and then Aislinn would make sure to wear that really long sari-skirt she'd brought with her the entire time...Or maybe she'd just try to shave it all off again, though that wouldn't cover her....
She lost a few shades, quickly rushing back into her apartment. She'd forgotten to put some shoes over her feet! Well, Oz hadn't mentioned anything, so likely he didn't notice them. Maybe the others hadn't either. Quickly, she slipped on her boots and opened the door again, just a tinge of blush reaching her own cheeks,
"Aha...sorry about that. Forgot my shoes."

"Yeah, what Aislinn said," he smiled and rolled his eyes as she dashed back inside her duplex for her boots. Her new feet hadn't gone unnoticed but he didn't want to say anything or react in any manner.
Oz felt really awkward suddenly. It was only now, in the presence of another guy, that he realised he'd grown taller...and bulkier. It wasn't by anything drastic but he felt it.
"Oh, just ignore Aislinn," he cast a one-sided smile to Sophie. "She likes to tease."
It was Oz that set the pace as Aislinn re-emerged from her duplex, leading the group towards the entertainment room.
