New chapter. Though as of right now that was just posted so that link may not work right away. For those who know fanfiction can be evil about updates. ^_~

The new chapter is already available, but the link provided above requires the person to log in. In the end I just used the link you gave for chapter 1, and then clicked on chapter 2: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3008509/2/

No time for me to read it at the moment, unfortunately. Sleep time!

Yeah. Woo. Combination of a great song and Alice in Wonderland.

Jefferson Airplane (though I could have sworn it was Pink Floyd but it's still a great song.)

I am sorry about the link, though I was being soooooo very smart. That usually ends badly. ^_^

The 2nd chapter was a pretty good set-up for the Draxon system and the impending disaster that awaits it. The writing seems a bit rushed compared to chapter 1, though it still flows well. Rosalind remains an interesting, independent-minded companion.

Looks like the TARDIS's telepathic circuits must be blown, since it's not automatically translating languages for the Doctor and Roz. Eh... Babel fish? Are all Dr. Who fans also Hitchhiker fans? xd

Actually the babel fish was cheating on my part.

I don't like the idea of the TARDIS doing all the translating, it doesn't really make sense in my head...though why a fish does make sense...eh...

I dunno, I loved HItchhikers, and that's actually how I found Doctor Who, Douglas Adams worked on the scrips for the show for like ten years or so.

As to being rushed, I do see what you mean when I re-read it now...I might end up trying to fix that a bit, though to a point I wanted to convey how bustling and busy Draxon was...maybe I didn't really do that as well as I'd hoped.

I'm not so keen on the idea either, though I guess they felt it was necessary to explain why aliens all speak and write in English in the show. Of course the idea of a fish that you shove in your ear to translate stuff isn't much better... but at least it has the virtue of being funny.

Douglas Adams rocks.

Perhaps you should've just gone with the TARDIS translating. After all, it does, so you're sort of stuck going with it. Plus, it has the advantage of not flagrantly failing to explain why everything is written in English.

But otherwise I loved the story. Actually, your character reminds me of my RP character. Except she's a doctor who deals with living people... which is to say, on a regular basis. Not just in exceptional circumstances! xd And her personality isn't as appealing as Rosalind's...

EDIT: AAAAUGH! I'm sorry! That was sort of really necroposting, wasn't it? I never look at dates. When I read those sorts of books written in the form of journals I don't even look at dates...
