twilightrosegarden Have people used the fact that you're completely absorbed in a book to their advantage? I hate having my picture taken, so one time while I was completely sucked into a book my friend sketched an entire potrait of me. He says I was the only thing that stayed still enough. sweatdrop Also answering parental summons has become an issue....... Hehe, lol... that happens to me sometimes... I was once reading a book whose title escapes me and my little sister took like ten pictures of me with her camera...
P.S. cute avatar! I really like it!

When I was younger (pre-teen age), when I read I would pretend that I was completely in my own world to avoid talking to people. But I suppose I kind of cursed myself because now I AM totally oblivious when I read!

Getting lost in my own world when I read used to happen all the time, but now it only happens if the book is truly amazing. I miss the feeling, even if I did get in trouble for reading in school all the time.

I get so absorbed into my books sometimes that entire classes would go by and I wouldn't even notice. Outside of school you have to either break my line of sight or, if you dare, try and take the book away...of course if you choose the latter you might lose a finger.

Not really. But sometimes I miss out on important conversations when I'm absorbed in a book. I do get lost in my own little world because sometimes... the real world is not so comforting xD

My parents bowled on a league when I was growing up so I would always read in the bowling alley. To this day, people can't understand how I can tune everything out and just immerse myself in my books. I don't get the chance to read much lately, since I've been working non-stop. I used to read while training my characters on Final Fantasy and listening to my CDs. My sister, who needs absolute silence, is totally opposite. She can only do one thing at a time, for some reason. But when she's really into the book, not even noise will disturb her.
