Procyon heard the fae talking, hearing their plight. They were lost in the forest of the Moon Court. How horribly unlucky for them, she thought, glancing in their direction once again. But instead of keeping herself hidden, she decided to come out from her hiding spot and greet the newcomers.
Walking out from behind the tree, the silvery leaves crunched beneath her feet, and she looked up and smiled at the two fae and their mounts. "Hello. Are you lost?" she asked, giving them the most innocent look she could muster. "Lost in the dark forest?" Her tail twitched around anxiously, the only thing giving away her nervousness.
But what did she have to be afraid of? They looked to be of the Sun Court, but she had only heard of the opposition in stories and from Aranea. They didn't look as harmful as the spider-fey had made them out to be...

((As a sidenote, the area doesn't look any more familiar to Procyon at this point. It's part of the whole magic on the fritz thing. <3))

Altaea's skin twitched with the impression of jittery muscles, and he chewed unconsciously on his lower lip at Muris' words. This had been a poor idea, though he would never have dream of blaming the stablemistress for their current situation; if anything, he found fault in himself for not having discouraged the ride in the first place.
Tae half-reared when the masked female appeared from behind the trees, and might have lashed out with sharp forehooves if Equus had not quickly worked to pull her back down to earth. He grabbed her bridle and held, his long tail darting worriedly as he glanced back over his shoulder and took in the newcomer.
It was not difficult for the boy to determine precisely what was amiss in the character of the fey that had appeared before them. Both her coloration and the clandestine air that surrounded her were enough to press the appropriate nerves and cause his expression to darken like a cloud passing over the sun.
"We have nothing for you to steal." The horse totem said flatly, wishing that he'd thought to bring along a weapon of some sort. She looked like a ruffian, possibly one that had no link to his regression, but that did not mean that she was free of the condemnation all the people of the Moon shared.

Muris startled a bit at the younger girl's sudden appearance, and pulled out her rapier defensively, despite not knowing too well how to use it-- it was better than nothing.
"Who are you?" she asked cautiously. Her hands were shaking and her heart beating ever more quickly.

"Did I say I was here to steal from you?" she asked, obviously irritated with the young fey. She was a bit offended at his assumption. She may have been a thief, but she certainly wouldn't steal from someone unless they had something she wanted. Though you never knew what one might find in the pockets of a Sun Courtier...
These two looked as common as she did, and she was certain they weren't a part of Sun royalty, though she didn't know as much about those of the Sun as she would have liked at this very moment. Regretting that she hadn't studied the courts in depth further, she had no choice but to face the confrontation.
When the older Sun fey pulled out her rapier, Procyon felt she was left with no choice but to pull out her own shortsword. She'd wanted to stick with the dagger, but it would provide little defense against a rapier. "I've only pulled my weapon because you have. No need to be afraid," she said with a smirk. "I'm Procyon. And you two are?"

Equus watched Muris draw her blade with longing, his own hand twitching towards a weapon that was not there. Battle tactics that did not require a weapon unfurled with slow precision in front of his young eyes, but he knew that most of them would be useless for his untrained form.
He placed his frame and that of his horse's between the stablemistress and the Moon courtier, sensing Muris' shaky state of mind and body. "You did not have to say," He growled, Altaea whickering as though to emphasize his words. "And I am not giving my name away to the likes of you."
He hadn't realized that his own shaking was that of anger rather than fear until that second. This was one of the Fey that had taken his life from him, and now she seemed to expect civility just because he was a child and essentially helpless.

Muris shook her head in Equus' direction, "We don't know that she's a Moon Court..." she breathed, trying desperately to grasp on some measure of control over herself and her fear. Just the idea of what they had done to her...she shuddered involuntarily-- all the training she'd been doing with Filix had not come close to preparing her for the idea of meeting up with one of Them.
"Are you?" she asked the girl, "Or are you some other manner of Fey?" she had heard rumours about Spina and Laniger having been rogue Fey. Fey of that sort could perhaps be less inclined to violence at least than the Moon Court and therefore possibly be safer.

"That is fine little one, I don't need your name particularly," the Raccoon Fey said, giving the boy a wink. "I was just out enjoying the woods--It's been so long since I've stretched my legs! I do love the summertime." Her voice was rather chipper, considering the place she was now in.
She could tell they were nervous, afraid of anyone of the Moon Court, regardless of how neutral they happened to be. "I'm Fey, that is all, I don't really claim an allegiance."
Of course, she was lying through her teeth. She was nothing like Spina, the Moon Court oracle she'd only heard about in books. She didn't backstab her court like Spina did. She was simply interested in those of the Sun, and she thought she'd rather steal from them and move on, rather than hurt them in any way. She was sure there were nice people of the Sun Court as well--people she could befriend, even though it may be looked down upon by her own kind.
These Fey though...they seemed weak-willed. The boy was high-spirited, and would certainly make for a most determined fighter as he aged. She'd be more afraid of him when he was a teenager or an adult.
"And what court do you claim?"

If she was neutral then he was a wet lump of curded whey; but Equus did not dissent any further in words, merely observed the intruder with suspicious grey irises, waiting for her to unconsciously give something of informative value away.
The unfairness of what had been done to him, the thin boundaries that he had instated in an effort to keep his ire from growing, were beginning to malfunction in the face of this new Fey. The horse was seething, annoyed by her very voice and her assumption in greeting them so casually. She was not their friend. She would never be.
"Sun." He answered her question flatly, the leather reins creaking in his thick hands as he clenched them tighter. He did not know what was amiss with the stablemaster at his back, but he concluded that she was in no way prepared for a chance encounter with an unfamiliar face. A flicker of regret at having agreed to go riding invaded his sense of foiled honor, but he carted it away so that it would not become a problem. He would defend Muris as best he could with no weapon, plan, or diplomatic aptitude.

Muris nodded at this, accepting it enough. Really, with all else that was going on, as long as the girl didn't offer to attack at all...well, she was willing to overlook what could possibly be a lie. She didn't trust her, there was still a part of the mouse-woman that lie in terror waiting for the Moon Court to take her again...but she could let it all go for now.
"Do you know where we are?" she asked, motioning to the surroundings, "I have never seen things look quite this way before."

As the little boy revealed his allegiance, Procyon grinned. Of course they were Sun Courtiers! It would make the boy's demeanor appropriate in the face of a Moon Fey. Were her falsehoods unbelieveable? The older fey seemed to believe her, so she relaxed a little, though she still kept her hand on the handle of her blade.
There was no need to let her guard down just now.
"Well, I hear the Sun Court is a lovely place. I hope to visit sometime," she said with a nod, giving the boy another smile, hoping to crack his stoic countenance.
Turning back to the older woman, she gave her a nod. "Well, I'm not quite sure where we are...I haven't wandered too far into the woods, and I was half expecting to stumble upon a castle of either the Sun or the Moon. But alas, I have not yet. Everything has started to look the same, and I'm just not sure quite where we are..."
She paused and plucked a silvery leaf from a drooping branch. "But, it seems we are in Moon Court territory--at least judging from the colors of the leaves."

He stomped one foot to curb his bristling attitude, trying to ignore every nerve that screamed with the battle-cry of a savage equine. Equus' thick tail flicked, sending a glitter of purpling dirt airborne as Procyon revealed her interest in the people of his court, his feelings stirring terribly.
He wanted to toss his head as Tae would have done to ward off a fly, snorting and pawing madly to dissuade further attack. Would that work with one of the darker court? He rather doubted it, but with the way she continued to smile beguiling at him, the horse totem was beginning to consider it worth an attempt.
"Then you are lost too," He cut in, stroking the curving neck of his mare a little more fiercely than usual; the youth wanted back onto Altaea's back, but was reluctant to make the horse bow down or ask for assistance from Muris in front of a potential enemy. "We don't need help wandering."
Being direct had afforded him nothing so far, but he figured one last burst of animosity would work the charm the others had failed to. Why Muris was being so tactful was beyond him, but then the mouse had been displaying a curious attitude since he'd first met up her that day. A Moon courtier impersonating a neutral Fey was not something to be taken lightly, no matter where they were. Thoughts that he was being too defensive raised a nose to sniff the air and judge the situation, but were quickly squashed down by a recollection concerning an amethyst colored light and what might have been a watered down memory of pain.
