Soco nodded, grinning.
He knew from personal experience that Adrian tended to respond to things in his sleep. So, he spoke quietly. "Hey, Adrian?"
"Mngh..." the guardian barely twitched.
"There's a Theif in the house."
"Hmngh..."
To Kiki, Soco mouthed the words, Three... two... one...
Adrian startled awake, jumping to his feet. "A theif! A THEIF!" He glanced around quickly, had a dizzy spell, and fell back into his seat. "Ack!"

Kiki collapsed into giggles against the piano, making a loud, jarring sound. It only fuled her laughter as Adrian fell back into his seat.
Theif heard ...what he figured was his name, and stuck his head into the room. He couldn't help but grin. His ears were still flattened back. "I promise not to take anything without permission," he called the the violet-haired man.

Soco chuckled and grinned and watched his boss slowly recover from the powernap and dizzy spell.
"Huh?" Adrian looked up and spotted Theif. "Oh... well, that's good."
He turned to Soco and said, "You're mean! Giving me a heartattack like that..."
"Sorry, sorry," Soco said, hiding his smirk behind his hand.
Adrian saw right through it. "No, you aren't."
"... You're right. I'm not."

Kilayla took her lip between her teeth, in an attempt not to giggle, but Theif had no such reservations, and began to laugh, a loud cheerful sound. Kiki couldn't help but join him.

Adrian pouted as his guests laughed. "Well, anyway," he said, "the party's this weekend, so come by if you have a chance." He got up out of his chair and walked over to the door, ducking through it quickly. "I'll see you when I see you."
Soco was still smirking to himself, but recovered. "I suppose you've come to take her home already?" he asked Theif.

"Of course," Theif said to Adrian. His laughter quieted down, and his expression was caught somewhere between humorous and apologetic. "I hope I didn't offend him," Theif said to Soco, of Adrian, once he'd left the room.
Kiki was suddenly clinging to his side. He half-hugged her back, as she looked silently at Soco with a small smile playing on her lips. "Yes, I've come to take her home."
"Turns out in much less trouble than I thought I'd be," He said after a breif silence. He smiled at Soco, too, and shook his head.

"I wouldn't worry about it," Soco said, bowing his head. "I'll find a way to make it up to him, later."
He didn't quite understand the man's next comment, so he didn't say anything. He rose from the bench, and said, "I'll walk you out, then." To Kilayla, he added, "I hope you had a good time."

"Ah, okay," Theif said. As the little girl and her guardian went with Soco, she detached herself from Theif and grabbed Soco's hand again.
"I had fun," she said, bouncing along beside him. "But we could prolly have more fun if we like played more games, or something next time..."
"If she can come over another time, that is," Theif said, eyeing Kiki and smiling.

Soco swung his arm a little as Kiki bounced along. "Sure!" he said, smiling. "More games, we shall have."
He glanced over his shoulder at Theif. "Of course she can. If she couldn't, she wouldn't have been invited to Malachite's birthday party."
He brought them into the front entrance hall and opened the door for them. "We'll see you soon," he said. "Give us a call if you need anything at all."

"Right," Theif said, smiling into his gloved palm. Of course Kiki was welcome again, how absentminded he was.
As they walked away, Kiki waved furiously at Soco. "Bye, Soco~!" she cried, "Byeeeeeeeeee~!"
Theif giggled and waved as well. To Soco's last comment, he replied, "Of course, of course! And, see you next time."

Soco waved back as they left. "See you soon~" he called. "Bye!"
Once the two were out of sight, he shut the door and went to go find Adrian to finish plotting out the upcoming party.
