(( XDD *in love with Orioas* ))

He responded to Lavena's 'warning' with a mere flick of an ear and slight widening of his grin. It was all too much like the two adults were prey to the pup's predators. When the younglings finally approached, Akamu managed to hold back his laughter to a mere snort, smiling wider than he had before. This was certainly a lively pup! But, he might as well play along, if only to amuse him and his friends.

Still chuckling softly, the earthy wolf made a mock bow and lowered his head a short distance. He did not break eye contact with the young wolf though, if only to remind him that Akamu was not truely submitting to him. Sometimes the young wanted to interpret play as reality, after all.

"It is an honor to meet such a widely renowned king," He grinned, laughing softly again- too softly for many to hear. "My name is Akamu."

Well, he'd certainly made an impression, to say the least. Akamu chuckled lightly to himself.

"She speaks the truth. I will not bite... And you will find it hard enough to anger me to that point." This was altogether very true. For as long as he'd been in the freelands, and even before, Akamu had been a very hard wolf to ruffle to the point of anger. Fighting itself was harder still to convince him to take part in. The wolf acknowledged Lavena's wink with a brief wag of his tail, ice blue gaze flickering to her before focusing on the pup again. ^^

"I think that calling me Akamu would do well enough, Orioas." He widened his smile a small fraction, having overheard the stage whisper the pup had used to ask Lavena his question. Already, the earth toned wolf was beginning to slip into the habitual paternal behavior he adopted when it concerned pups, letting go of a good deal of his playful submission from earlier

Thread RP :: Akamu, Feanaro, Atlas, Corvus, Leo, Cygnus, Vulpecula

dustfeather
Two little puppies are playing in the snow beneath a large tree, the larger one a brownish coloration, and the smaller white with black hindquarters and an oddly-colored muzzle. They're playing tug-of-war with a piece of hide that smells like it might've belonged to a roe deer at one point.

The two make happy growling noises, but it's clear that the larger one is not exerting his full strength, otherwise he'd have had the strip of hide long ago. But the younger puppy doesn't seem to realize this: he holds on, trying to tug it out of the other's grasp.

Jestari
He was back in the freelands again, having decided to follow his brother's example and visit every now and again. It was getting quiet in his packland, and to admit the truth, Akamu missed the freelands. He'd made several friends there.

His ears flicking about to catch the sounds of potential food and wolves, he glanced around, thinking to continue walking for a while before settling down for a sleep... hm? Youngling play-sounds?

A faint smile creased the older wolf's muzzle, and he turned in the direction of the sounds, which were not very far off to begin with.

dustfeather
"Just let him have it, Leo, stop toying with him." An annoyed face pops out of the snow, looking distinctly foxy in coloration. But it's a wolf pup, smaller than the larger of the two fighting, but larger than the smaller. "You two just look ridiculous." A snowflake drifts down onto his nose, causing him to sneeze. "Yeargh. I wish it was summer."

Leo, the brown-colored male puppy, releases his tension on the strip of hide slowly, so that his brother, Cygnus, doesn't go head over heels. He looks over towards the fox-colored pup, largely disapproving. "Shut up, Vul." Cygnus, after going slightly red from Vulpecula's comment, nevertheless tosses the strip of hide into the air, tail swishing happily. None of the puppies seem to notice that there's a new arrival about....

Thalion
Nearby, a larger wolf is roused by the sounds of the two's merriment. He could have easily been mistaken for a boulder laying under the overturned trunk he'd chosen for his shelter that night. His earthen colored coat striped down his back with a single line of ebony made him quite hard to spot. Even in the winter, the build of snow on his coat dusted itself well enough to keep him relitively hidden- something he would need in these lands. The mountain of a wolf rolled his head off his paws and lifted it slowly towards the source of the sound, his eyes still sagging halfway from the haze of sleep. He'd slept long... perhaps it was best that he had been roused.

Feanaro slowly scooted himself from the patch of earth that he had created by sheltering the ground from that night's snowfall, shaking himself out as best he could. He was a massive wolf, not so much his height- though that too accounted for something among the population of adults- but more in his bulk. A life of fighting nad running not only sculpted his body in such a way that most would consider him a brute right off- but gave him quite the reputation in the freelands. Traveling alone was a risk, but one he was willing to take if only to find his packmates. Keefe had been found, but his mate hadn't and the alpha felt it his job to make sure they both got home safely.

A caw sounded from above, gaining the wolf's attention for a moment. A single crow clapped down to land on his scarred shoulder, turning its head to preen at a tufft of fur along the wolf's face. "Well good morning to you... I trust the others will rouse shortly..."

The crow didn't answer, its interest was on the sound a head, "Ah so that woke you... might as well see what it's about."

He moved foward, quietly though not at all hesitantly. Upon coming on the scene he paused, lifting his head and ears with interest. Pups? Out here alone.... well that wouldn't be a suprise in the freelands but he could be mistaken and have stumbled into one of the enemy packlands- him being around pups again would certainly cause problems... but if they were alone-

"A bit early to be making such a fuss." He said loud enough to gain their attention.

Jestari
Akamu came upon the younglings not long after Feanaro, though chose not to speak..at least not yet. He merely emerged from what cover was there- sleeping trees and evergreens- and sat. His own earthy pelt carried a light dusting of snow as well, but unless he was in the midst of the dead and sleeping trees, he was sadly visible. After a cursory glance at the pups, the wolf turned curious eyes on the other adult. He didn't know this one, but that was no surprise. Briefly, he considered a greeting..

Ah, but they would see him in due time, and that would be that. In the meantime, he made sure not to appear threatening. Who could tell what they thought his purpose would be.

dustfeather
"Hush, Vulpecula," Says a small adult male wolf, appearing out of the surrounding trees. He's oddly-marked: brown, with a smattering of criss-crosses that, to a human, would look like a map. "Leave them be." A dark-colored male puppy travels a few paces behind him, looking boredly about and eyeing his three siblings with something akin to amusement.

Atlas, the adult, halts at the sight of Feanaro and Akamu, frowning. He'd been told that these lands were unclaimed, yet here were two more wolves. But if the packs around were as large as the dark wolf had claimed, then it stands to reason there would be more loners, too...he dips his head in a cordial nod, deciding that politeness is the best policy. "Good day, sirs," he says, first taking up the large Feanaro's measurements - a big wolf, alpha-sized. He lets the briefest of smiles float across his muzzle at the comment. "They're a bit rambunctious, aren't they. I'm sorry if they disturbed either of you." His gaze roves over to Akamu.

The puppies all look up in curiousity, save the black puppy, Corvus, who merely glances at the two adults, irritated.

Thalion
"Oh no no." He shook his head calmly, "I was needing to be up to any effect." He looked over the newcoming adult, strange markings, but they must be wonderful in the autumn season for hunting most especially. Fascinating indeed. He didn't look at all like the pups, so surely they couldn't be his blood children. What a shame so many pups in these lands wound up orphaned- he had, and he'd lived his life in a way no wolf should have. "I was just concerned... pups alone in these woods..." he shook his head a bit, "This place is dangerous... I've seen young ones mauled by packs for being strange to their lands."

He remembered it too well.. he'd tried to save the small pup but he'd not been strict enough to do so. The way he explained his reasoning for being there had some weight to it, "I...didn't realize I had come upon your pack. A thousand pardons."

Jestari
Akamu inclined his head towards Atlas, taking some note of his rather unique markings. Not being a human, he merely observed that they broke his outline up well, in the right season. A useful tool. "Greetings. The pups did not disturb me, though.. I was merely curious about the noise." He smiled, faintly. This new adult seemed to be the charge of the pups... that took care of the slight worry for the pups if they were on their own. Though it was not such a strange thing in the freelands, it still caused concern.

If he noticed Covrus's irritation, he gave no sign of it other than an amused flick of an ear.

Pups, mauled? He cast a surprised look at Feanaro.. but schooled his face soon enough. He shouldn't be surprised at it, but....

Ah, the thought of a pack hadn't occured to him. On second thought, it should have- it has been months since he was last in the freelands, and the borders might have changed. He looked back at Atlas, now, for confirmation. If it was a pack, he would leave before his welcome wore out.

dustfeather
Atlas smiles, looking amused. "They're not alone, they're mine. Don't bear much family resemblance, though, except for Leo here." He lightly cuffs the largest puppy, another brown, with a paw. "Only one of them takes after their mother, too, we're buggered if we know where they got their markings from." He frowns, however, at the next comment. "I was under the impression that these weren't some packs' lands, though? My mate and I have been looking for a pack to join up with, but we're taking our time about it." Atlas doesn't particularly want to be a low-ranking wolf, but neither does he want the responsibilities of an alpha: it's difficult to find a vacant position like that in any pack. "We're just loners for now, we've been on the move the last few weeks'. Our old pack was simply too large, the pack was sort of falling to pieces trying to keep up with everything, so we decided to leave."

His gaze roves over to Akamu, curiousity scrawled on his muzzle. "I am sorry about the commotion, though. It's hard for them to find much to do, their mother and I are generally out hunting. Are either of you from packs, or know of the packs around here?"

Cygnus, the white puppy, has scuttled over to his father's forepaws, where he sits, staring up in awe at the larger, strange wolves. Leo, looking a little guilty at being caught playing tug-of-war with his brother, seats himself, attempting to look serious. Vulpecula digs himself out of the snow and slinks over to Corvus.

Thalion
Ah, so he was wrong to assume the pups weren't his... and that these were their pack lands. "I see, well for give me. I assumed these were your lands." He looked around slowly, his dark ears rotating this way and that to listen. The freelands were dangerous ones... two packs had it in for him and any wolves seen with him, it would be a pity to be the end of them if they had expanded their territory into where the small group now stood.

Content with their solitude for the moment he turned back, "Well if that is the case you're free to bring your family to my lands... it's a hard trip into them, passing through the maze of the mountains, but the valley is safe, walled off from the enemy wolves of the freelands and full of game- the snows havn't touched ground there yet."

dustfeather
Atlas listens curiously, watching Feanaro's terse reactions to the land about them. The wolf smiles, partially amused. "My mate and I are looking for beta positions in a pack," He admits, "and that's a position that it's hard to find these days. We were rather hoping to join up with someone who didn't have a pack yet, but had the qualities of a good alpha. I don't suppose you have beta positions open, not if you already have a pack." It's not quite a question, more of a statement than anything.

Jestari
Ah, so the young belonged to Atlas, and had a mother as well... good for them. The small smile on Akamu's muzzle widened a little.

"You would be welcome, as well, I think, in the pack of my brother... Although I apologize.. we have both beta positions filled. I wish you luck in finding such a place for yourselves." He, like Feanaro, hadn't forgotten that not all places or persons in the freelands were friendly, though he limited his wariness to paying attention to the smells of the land, and the sounds of it.

Thalion
Feanaro turned his head to the side, considering, "In terms of common packs, no... but I don't fancy my pack to be anything like theirs. We are a small pack... my mate and my two generals- one has gone missing hence my appearence in these spirit-forsaken lands." He has a bit of a bitter bite to his tone as he speaks the few last words, "Our society isn't at all like the packs here, I follow the ways of my ancestors- no one in our pack is under another..."

He was quite proud of their ways and didn't hesitate to show it, "I cannot promise you anything, but you are free to our lands if only to stay out the winter if you wish... if you find that it's a place you enjoy you are welcome to stay there, if not you are free to go- as long as you keep our paths a secret... the packs that dwell in these lands are murderious... we cannot be too careful."

Jestari
He nodded in agreement. "As true as the seasons, that is.." Akamu blinked, realizing that he didn't know this wolf's name.. but didn't bother himself about it. But.. Spirit forsaken? That caused curiosity. Although his stay in the freelands had been somewhat rough at the beginning, he had faced no great hostility in them.

Of a sudden, Akamus' stomach decided to voice that it had waited long enough to fill itself, thank you very much, and would like it if he stopped his silly talking and eat. Laying his ears back a little in slight embarrassment, Akamu stood. "Ah... I am sorry. I must leave to hunt and to find a place for the night. It was a pleasure to meet you and your children.." Another name he didn't know... ah well. He nodded towards Atlas and his younglings with a smile. "And you," He inclined his head towards Feanaro as well, keeping his smile. "May we run into each other again."

With that, Akamu moved quietly back into the sleeping woods.
