Have you noticed that in Breath of Fire 3+4 Ryu doesn't talk. Not all that much. *SPOILER ALERT, IF YOU HAVEN'T BEATEN BOF4 PLEASE DON'T READ* Except when he finally rejoined with Fou-Lu then he could talk. To me he looked like a Super Saiyan...

that was my fav. ending to any bof game.
umm he does kinda talk in 3 when he tranforms into his dragon form he says somthing unless it just a scream that sound like he's trying to talk

My friend told me that it's the same reason why Link doesn't talk. It's because the creators whanted you to almost put the words in their mouth for them. I can't explain it too well but you get the point, right?
