I have had the same bass for two years and have never broken a string so i have no idea what strings would be good. Mind you i play every day finger, pick, slap and pull and they still have not broken

the best i've found for smooth play and great sound is elixirs, but DRs arent bad, i have pecock blue ones, they dont sustain as long as the elixers, but the sound good for being relatively cheap. But i prefer roundwound.

i use fender roundwounds on my guitars, and whatever strings i can find for my upright's, i'm prety sure theres nothing but flatwounds for an upright, but i really dont mind what strings i have on my guitars, as long as their not Taperwound.

Anything heavy enough to make my bass growl like an animal.
