This sure got me thinking.
I don't know why I'm obsessed with Japan.
And I know it can't be anime or manga or anything like that, because I never really cared for it much.

i was attracted to Japan because of their food and culture. My friends and I are planning to go to Japan. One of my friends are attracted to Japan for the food since she's planning to get some recipes to make japanese food. I'm attracted to the culture of japan

I was obsessed with Sailor Moon when I was little and when I found out that it was created by a Japanese person I went to the public library and read every childrens book I could find about Japan and fell in love with it's culture.

In 5th grade a foreign exchange student from Japan came and did her student teaching at my school. She was so interesting. She taught us origami and how to count in Japanese. My neighbors were her host family for the second part of her stay. She came to my birthday party and gave me this really neat hand-made birthday card and a little paper version of me in a kimono. (It's really cute.) I still have them. They're hanging on the wall in the "craft/sewing" area of my room. She also brought me some really pretty origami paper. (I still have some of it because I'm very conservative with my supplies. Hopefully I'll use it up when I've learned to make some more complicated things.)
Then I did lots of origami for a while.
In high school my interest in Japanese culture was renewed by anime. Yup. My best friend called me on the phone and told me to watch Kenshin. We would watch it every day at the same time. I love the historic setting it's in.

I get to go to Japan next May. It's really exciting!

Through Anime & Manga, which led me to be curious about the culture, which then led me to be interested in Japan. I plan to go there some day.
