"Well..." at this open, his ear flickered again, almost as if a fly had landed on it and he'd felt the need to shoo the bug away, however, unknown to most... it was a way Shinzu had to show that he was in fact, thinking deeply about something; Nally, in this particular case, "I don't think he needs to know, we all find out in some way or other... if his mind does not comprehend it, there's no need to bother; there's more in life than that, besides... he seemed quite content with his flowers."
It was all what the male had to say in regards to the situation, however, Kalapi was a diferent issue; he'd seen the girl, and tell truth, he'd jumped to the same conclusion Franklin had, "Life is a gift," there was no other real way to tackle the situation, for whatever may happen... would.
At Iris' question, Shinzu finally turned his purple gaze to her, blinking slightly. Though he felt compelled to say something akeen to 'last time a checked, yes,' he didn't, for something within his mind was shouting at him to tred with caution of the thin ice that was doubtlessly spreading around them. Ear lowering from the previously perked position, the seraph tilted his head, "Uhm, yes..." a pause as his ear flickered again, almost seemingly lost in though, no doubt trying to understand the change in the female's attitude, "Is that wrong?" why would being Nally's uncle be bad in the least?
Sadly, despite being quite intelligent, his mind never added two and two.

Frankie shrugged at the words, her mind focused on her sister.. who had yet to say a word. "Iris, you have gone unexpectantly mute. Is this an ailment or have you nothing to say? If it is the latter, do just nod and therefore you need not use the words you cannot find, if it is the former perhaps I should go fetch us mother that she might help in our endevour to find a cure."

She looked about ready to cry, her eyes wide and shaking and her lip quivering in a similar manner, "...Are... are you sure!? That you're an... an uncle?" This last word was said very loud and simply, as though she were explaining it to a young and perhaps even stupid kit. "A male uncle?"
Her head was still filled with too many thoughts of denial and doubt and utter confusion over the meaning of life to register any of Franklin's statements.

The male's eyes darted around, almost as if expecting Iris to be talking to someone else; ANYONE else but him, yet of of course, his gaze found non other than the kit and her sister to be around, "Uhm..." seemingly at a loss for words, Shinzu frowned, ears dropping even further down if ever posible, a paw lifting in the air, "Well, yes..." he offered quite lamely, "Yes, a male uncle, because, if I were a female uncle I'd not be an uncle at all; I'd be an aunt, right?" offering her a small smile which swiftly receeded back into the concerned frown, the seraph turned to the kit for help.
He couldn't for the life of him understand what had gotten Iris so upset; in fact, for some odd reason, the seraph thought that maybe, just maybe it was just him whom had gotten her upset, and in a dark corner of his mind, his thoughts went something along the lines of 'Oh my GOD I think I borke her!'.
Needless to say this wasn't true, however, it was that notion which distressed him most, "Are you..." a pause followed as he swallowed and peered over at her, tilting his head slightly, "Are you quite allright?"

Franklin watched the exchange with no attempt to hide her growing amusement. Normally the pink kit had a hard time dealing with being ignored, but this was just too funny! "His logic is quite astute, Iris, is it not?" A smirk crossed Frankie's maw, and she turned her blue gaze back to the ice-feli.
"Heed not her manner, oh wintry one; Iris is well known for her sharp tongue and wit, yes, but further known for her distinct attitude towards men. Though I do worry about her state, this may yet be good for her."

Iris turned to leer at Frankie, although she was so flustered it hardly looked intimidating. "I do not have a 'distinct attitude' toward--" a vague glance back at Shinzui shut her right up. For some reason, she seemed incapable of finishing her sentence, "..............."
It was so much easier when she was looking at the kit, though, "...males! They're always the ones starting it!" And yet, while the typical Iris would follow this declaration with a string of less-than-kindly statements about the male gender as a collective, the fact that there was one mere inches away that contradicted every single thing she wanted to say successfully stopped her from doing so.

Blinking slightly, the male focused his attention on Franklin, and though his ears had by now perked, he still seemed wary, almost as if pondering running away... yet rooted to the spot by fear of having truly 'broken' this feli girl, "Be good for her?" his voice had turned slightly high pitched, forcing him to pause, look down, blush and cough in order to try and get it back under control, failing quite miserably at it too.
"I..." again he paused, coughing as his ears flopped back reluctantly, specially as Iris turned her gaze upon him, practically making him shrink back, "Think she should rink a bit of water..." really, he had no idea what could be so horribly offsetting about him being a male though; never once had Shinzu paused to think he was quite 'unmanly' by definition. In fact, he thought he was perfectly manly, and perfectly normal, mind you. Then again, Shinzu's sister did happen to be Ryuki, whom was well known for being insane.
A long pause flew by, however, after a lot of thinking, Shinzu finally decided he'd best try and defend his case, or rather, gender at least, "Isn't... it a bit mean to group up all males into one circle? Isn't that like... thinking all girls are meant to be.... sparkly dumb and..." he cut himself off at this point, wincing slightly, "I..." when all else failed, the seraph always used his sparkly breath; if anything, it always helped cheer him up, and thus, he opened his maw and breathed softly at Iris, allowing the icy bits to sparkle around her till the melted into nothingness.

Franklin reached up to pat Shinzu's nose then shook her head, "It is mean, and I never said it wasn't. I'll go see if there are any adults around that might help.. like uncle riddick."
The kit jumped off the rock then, and didn't look back as she left them alone.

The fairy gaped at Franklin's sudden departure; she wasn't really going to leave her alone, was she!?
Apparently, yes.
Feeling the need to defend herself, Iris set her jaw and defiantly turned to face the male, "I've neve--... yet to--... males have an undeniable tendency to-- they-- I--"
Quite suddenly, it became quite obvious that she was being a stereotypical bigot. Why, that almost (but, of course, never could entirely) put her at... at Riddick's level of... detestableness!
"...I'm... sorry? You're... right...?"
This was said vaguely, as though Iris only had a minimal amount of attention focused on the comment. In fact, this was just the case; she was busy making a mental list of the many apologies she'd have to make. Basically, to every male she'd ever come across, save Riddick. He still deserved nothing more than a frying pan to the skull.
The seraph's ice did help her to snap out of this, though, and quite suddenly, she looked up. Trying to look cool, rather than show the utter embarrassment she felt, Iris laughed weakly and bit her lip, "Er, would you be so kind as to forget the past ten minutes' worth of dialogue? Here, I'll even re-introduce myself."
She cleared her throat and put on one of her best smiles... the kind she usually reserved for close (female) friends. "I'm Iris. It's quite nice to meet you, Nalin's uncle Shinzu."

A long pause ensued as the male slowly lifted his paw and placed it softly upon his nose, right over the spot the kit had placed her paw only seconds before, and for some reason... deep down within his mind he knew he should feel slightly embarrassed that a kit should feel the need to do such a thing, treating him like a younger feli than said kit was, but at the same time, he couldn't help but smile slightly.
So what? He really didn't care for such things, such was Shinzu's attitude towards life and others; it was just... the way he'd been made to be.
His gaze slowly returned to Iris' as her words reached his perked ears, and thought it occurred to him that he was alone with a grown, adult female, talking no less, the seraph made no attempt to flee. Something kept him rooted to the spot; or rather, not something, but the inexplicable need to perhaps help this one out. How he was planning to help, tell truth, not even hew knew, but something told him that staying there was perhaps, just perhaps, help enough, "Alright," he offered her his paw at this point, no longer wet but still slightly damp from his little river adventure, "I shall do so too then; My name is Shinzu, and it's a pleasure to meet you you too, Iris, whom has ties with Nallin though I'm not sure which."
Another pause as he lowered his paw, his icy gaze lowering to the river then towards the path that lead to the meadow; it'd do no good to remain within the forest by the shade, for he'd never dry up, "Would you care to join me for a stroll in the sunshine?" slowly, delicately, he motioned towards the path, offering her a small smile.
