Nadyrr had settled in listening to the others and the professor, still somewhat sullen over being zapped his notes to say the least were not the most studious. His attention was pulled listening to talk of Tribal magics, a thoughtful look came to his face; a few ideas having to do with the mechanics of tribal magics came to mind. He spoke up softly for the first time actually focusing fully upon the professor, "I think I'd prefer tribal magics." Shifting in his seat slightly he hoped the other students would take her attention; he knew he hadn't really done anything she'd take note of but Bellona was more then a little intimidating to him and he really didn't want her attention too long. The idea of working with a group to create tribal magics appealed to him greatly.
Belwen perked up when Biwa asked about magic through music, the Grimoire appealed to her greatly since it required art as well and she really was rather fond of art. The application of circle magic caught her attention as well though; she wondered some to herself how well that would work alongside training monsters. "I'm interested in bardic magic as well...and I haven't really decided what sort of magic I'm going to focus in beyond that really Grimoire and Circle have applications that speak to me." Belwen paused before adding more unsure if she should continue, "Girmoire sounds interesting and I am fond of art, but I am interested in animal handling and Circle magic seems like it might have better applications for that." She cut off then a bit subconscious of herself and went back to glance at her notes to make sure they were whole; she intended to speak to Khamsyn later about the class and didn't want them to be lacking.

Abacus winced in sympathy as Bellona replied to Cyphr. That was harsh. He wanted to reach out and pat him on the shoulder, but that was rather difficult from the other side of the room. For now, he settled on giving his friend a grin and an apologetic shrug before focusing on the teacher, a frown beginning to form as she discussed Tribal magic. That... didn't sound like something for him. No, he was a watcher, not a participant -- he didn't want to think what would happen if he altered his steps and movements mid-dance in order to take a picture. Metatrons only know, indeed.
He sat up a little straighter when Fenna spoke, looking to her then eagerly focusing his attention on the teacher. Circle and Grimoire -- now those sounded interesting! He became even more interested as Belwen spoke, mentioning her love for art and Grimoire. Maybe...?
"Professora?" He began, "What sort of preparation goes into the other branches of magic? Tribal appears to be one that requires nothing else aside from your present self, some rhythm, and perhaps spirits in some cases."

"While Circle might involve a fair bit of math, it takes a creative mind set to be able to adjust the correct qualities to intersect." Bellona replied airily to Fenna. "There is an art to which colours to juxtapose, which planets to asign to achieve the best effect on your target. Circle magic is composed of carefully selected Augments more than anything, and numbers are simply a form of augment. See if that approach clarifies it for you when you study." She turned then to Nadyrr and with a rather indifferent tone said, "Cholerics are well suited to Tribal Magic. They collaborate well with others. There isn't so much ego in them." That was it, three sentences, and none overly biting. She turned her attentions to Belwen with a smile. "Both the skills of Art and Animal Handling can be used in conjunction with casting magic. The question is, would you rather create creatures from your imagination and bolster them with colours and shapes, or would you rather work with living animals and cicus creatures or monsters and send them into battle? If you prefer the concept of the former then choose Grimoire. Keep in mind it requires originality, perfection of execution, design and form. If you prefer the concept of the latter, then choose Circle. Keep in mind that pursuit requires will power, influence, manipulation and direction. For one you need to have a bold mind, for the other a bold will. Choose to your strengths." And then Abacus raised his question. She turned on him with a glitter in her eye and her gaze lingered a little long on his camera. "Circle magic requires one to draw lines and shapes around or between your targets in real time. You are not able to prepare these shapes ahead of time, and you need to be quick to not get interrupted or interferred with while you are preparing your spells. Also, if you are up against someone who has studied circle magic - such as in a Duel - they will be able to tell what Spell you are attempting by your movements, and can try to counteract your efforts. For Ritual, you can store up karma before a situation, and you can prepare the tools you will need, but the meditation, the preparations and the spell words needed to be uttered during an encounter lay you vulnerable without some form of protection of stolen time (such as by Caster shells or Potions). Still, Ritual often results in potent magics descended from the Gods meaning that if you yourself are harmed, the magic is flowing from another source and will not be lessened if your concentration is broken. As for Grimoire, in your Grimoire Tome you can prepare as many copies of a spell as you wish before a battle and fling them out with near instant effect in a fight. For you, especially, Abacus, I would recommend this pursuit. With that memory of yours, and your ability to make prints of your photographs you could potently prepare albums of spells to carry with you into battle. You could become a great Seraphim." Bellona had been gliding slowly closer to him as she spoke, her face alive with a terrible light, both excited and hungry at once, like a Spider hoping to watch her prey's efforts. Bellona was the Head Seraphim of the City, of course she would be pleased for more students to pursue the path of Seraphim, but for Abacus, because of his special abilities she could see worlds of untapped possibility unfolding. The thought of it was enough to make her hungry for... But bellona seemed to recollect her place and stopped advancing, permitting herself one last long burning stare at Abacus as though she were peering through him to the bone and devouring each glimpse she saw. Then she turned back to the front of the class and gazed out at them. "The key thing to remember, students, is that the Spells you see in the references in the Library, or that are taught in this course are only the very basics of that school of magic. There are mountains of other magics that are crafted for each style, but to access those one must join one of the Magic Guilds. To do so will grant you access to these secret techniques, but it will also barr you forever from the knowledge of the other secret magics. So when I say choose wisely, it is not for today or your graduation you must think on, but for your future as an Empyrean in this City."

Abacus listened intently as Bellona replied to Belwen, citing the differences between Grimoire and Circle. He enjoyed the company of his two Cicus does, Prancer and Marilyn, and he found the concept of monster taming intriguing. Would Circle be the better choice?
But then the professora's attention shifted and Abacus sat still, watching. He resisted the urge to hold his camera, fingers twitching at the thought of how predatory Bellona appeared. Funny, he mused, She looked a lot different while sleeping. Now... He took a slow breath, concentrating and nodding in understanding as she spoke of the pro's and con's of magic.
He visibly jerked when Bellona mentioned his camera, eyes widening in surprise. "My camera can do that?" He breathed, breaking his gaze from her to look down at his camera, holding it up with one hand to peer into its tiny lense. The thought had not crossed his mind, and when he looked up to admit this the words froze in his throat at her expression. It was only when she turned away that Abacus remembered how to breathe, doing is best to gulp air as quickly and quietly as possible.
