Lisdan and Lisdanese:

The Heart of Lisdan lies not in their mainland ports, but on the island of Don-Mar, south of the Eastern Continent. The Lisdanese originated on this sandy island country, and quickly learned to make boats from the springy trees that grow on their isle. They originally used them for fishing, and in the art of nautical skills quickly excelled. It was the Lisdanese who charted the heavens and the seas, and it was after a fishing vessel was blown north off course that they discovered more land lay north over the horizon. It was then that they decided to go and trade with those foreign peoples.

The Lisdanese are a hearty people who love to drink and to laugh. They are practical, very inquisitive and very down to earth. They are the only race that cannot use magic, and in truth, they do not believe magic to exist at all. The only magical art they can weild is that of Alchemy, and that is merely because they believe it to be a science.

The Lisdanese wear waterproofed oil-cloth clothing because of the amount of time they spend on the sea or in the surf. The oil for their clothing is gleaned from the Asese duck and lasts for a number of months before wearing out. They tend to wear jumpsuits that fasten with zippers or hook and eyes and fasten to or tuck into their boots and gloves. their cloaks are no longer than the knee in length and hang from the back of the shoulders so as not to get in the way. All Lisdanese have a love of large and ornate hats, the bigger and more extravagant the better. Also, the women wear a set of cords from the throat to the left shoulder, and the men wear theirs to the right. These cords are bestowed to a child at the coming of age ceremony by their guardian/parent.

The Lisdanese have no Racial Ability.
