Humoro and the Humoro:
The country of Humoro is beautiful and warm hills of rolling green and meadow, but hardly anyone ever sees it, for it is hidden behind high walls of limestone and white granite, and gaining permission to enter is extremely rare.
The country is run by the High Council, who maintain a strict communist rule to maintain peace and order. The average Humoro is peaceful and unassuming, and thing normally run smoothly. Occassionally, a Humoro stands up, and is either gassed or expelled. The majority of the time things run smoothly, and without question. The cities are organized by groups of gender and age, and the Humoro sleep in long bunkers of 20 to 40 birds. These are organized further by profession, farmers with farmers, craftsmen with craftsmen. They share their clothing and accessories, and dress from communal bunkers each day after preening each other and eating a supply of insects fruits and legumes.
The Humoro themselves have soft champagne pink skin, often lightly covered with a barely visable film of soft down. Their 'hair' is a pastel crown of feathers on the head, chest and nether regions of each Humoro, though female Humoro tend to have softer colours: pink, yellow, light purple or blue, occassionally light green. Males tend to have brighter coloured crowns, sometimes as extreme as red or orange, but usually bright yellows, greens, blues and purples. All Humoro have large milky lavender coloured eyes, and a beak-like mouth and sharp tapered ears. Their hands have three forefingers and one reversed thumb. Because of the location and limited flexibility of the Humoro thumb, they do not have fully opposable thumbs, but they do have a good gripping capability. Their hips are inverted, like a birds, and so their knees too go in reverse, with clawed feet much like their hands. Their large feather wings sprout from their torsos beneath their arms, and attach to their secondary set of shoulder blades. Their bone structure is hollow to allow for flight, and their wingspan is twice their usual height of 4 feet at 8 feet fully stretched out.
