aww
My mom..she doesnt really care what I wear..you know, but my father..He is too "over-protective" of me and I hate it.
He seems that if I wear lets say a pair of shoes that have little pirate skulls on the lace..he'll flip and get me a long lecture on how Im going down the "wrong" path.

OMG! my dad is the EXACT same way. i wore pink a black striped stockings with these jeans that were cut in the middle front so you could see them. and he started giving me this loooong lecture on how he respects self expression but sometimes you go a little to far. eek wearing pink and black striped stockings is going to far? sweatdrop heh heh wait until he finds out about my little lolita obsession.

As for the person saying that they cant order off the kids menu im sorry but thats bull. Im a vegetarian so its kind of hard to find anything i like on the big menu so i usually order grilled cheese or mac and cheese. they shouldnt be able to stop you. and if you go there all the time then your a good customer of theirs right? they should respect your decisions. (sorry but that made me a little mad heh heh sweatdrop )

As for the person who started this post im glad that you and your mom worked things out. 3nodding and being obsessive over the lolita fashion is nothing bad. everyone has their own obsessions and fashion is a great one! I myself am VERY obsessed with fashion. But im not one of those preppy freaks that if something doesnt match ill go insane. I love all kinds of fashion (preferably womens clothing becasue its pwettier whee ) and sweet lolita is my favorite out of any fashion there is. And this little obsession could led to great things! just make sure your productive with it! 3nodding

dang this post turned out waaaay too long sorry people sweatdrop

Luckily my mother sort of leaves me alone about what I wear as long as it's not sluttish or anything...But I had an ex-boyfriend once who I wanted to push in the mud so I wouldn't have to step in it.

I got my first Lolita-esque dress from a thrift store, and I was so excited about it! I told him that I would dress up special in Lolita for him hte next day, and when he saw me he told me I looked weird in it and he didn't like it. sad He told me to stop wearing dresses like that and I told him no, I like this style.

Three days later the bleepity bleep bleep bleep broke up with me. domokun Made me wish I HAD pushed him in the mud. >.>

For me Gothic lolita among other things is a mini escape from reality. I read the paper and hear the news and cry myself to sleep silently screaming why at my ceiling. Through lolita i leave the real world behind and enter my world, there's no hate in it. Plus wearing lolita makes me feel good , although i don't really own anything lolita...i'm saving up for it.

Lolita is pretty much splitting me in half. One half is the elitist who feels terrible about not being able to afford Baby, the Stars Shine bright, and the other half picked up a sewing machine and started sewing. I don't feel like I can really be a lolita if I make my own clothing, but I'm disabled and can't work to get money. So I pretty much just sit around all day having a staring match with either my sewing machine, or the Baby website.

Ladies, ladies...

The sadness of it all.

Weell dearies, I think that the pattern links should help... The ones on here you know??

Also as far as tragedy goes:

Every time I dress up Lolita... An older man who seems to be a ***** talks to me and hits on me... Because we do, in fact, look like little, perfect baby dolls.

Unfortunately people think that your trying to look childish... I just get awkward conversations and parasols to perverts heads.

Good luck to all!
