5 - Saw: The original thriller told an epic storyline, completed with the perfect elements of gore, terror, and crime to create a thoroughly original modern classic.
4 - The Hunger: One of the most stylish, and sexiest vampire films ever made. David Bowie, Catherine Deneuve, and Susan Sarandon are brilliantly cast, and the cinematography is gorgeous. Emotional storyline, eerie, haunting end. Beautiful.
3 - The Evil Dead: From the famous "tree raping" scene, to the camp, to the gore, to the all-out terror, the original Evil Dead will always be one of my favorite horror films for it's striking originality, and comic genius.
2 - Nightmare on Elm St: "Don't. Fall. Asleep." Not much more needs to be said. Heather Langenkamp and Robert Englund are two of the most underused and underappreciated actors in all of Cinema, and truly make this a great classic.
1 - Hellraiser: Hilarious, dark, original, seductive. Clive Barker is an undisputed master of the macabre, and he has the incredible ability to portray what we see as monstrous, as something sensual and beautiful. One of my heroes, truly.
