I was watching Naruto last night; you know, the episode where you first see Gaara's awesome sand controlling powers in the forest? So I was sitting there going "You're gonna get it! You're gonna get it!" to those rain ninjas, when Gaara unleashed his attack. He does the sand coffin and blady blady blady blah, crushes him. And what do I see? Black stuff!
I was like, "What is that!?"
My sister said, "I think it's.. blood?"
I was firstly surprised that they hadn't censored this scene. After all, they've done a GREAT job of censoring the show until now, why should they stop? [voice layered with sarcasm]
But then (this is the whole point of why I'm posting, folks), I got even more surprised at the black blood. Black? Hmmm, last I checked, blood was red... Is it really that hard to colour blood red? Or perhaps they're scared that the red blood will traumatize us. lol stare
Ahaha, well, I just thought I'd get this off my chest. I hope you enjoyed listening to my rant!

very simple to explain:
auto-censorship!
meaning that way they can say that they did censor that part,
without censoring it entirely
yeah, it sucks
and even worse:

its black in the other one to, I think it's becaes the blood is all full of sand or the sand is all full of blood and it turns black. It's all gunky!

I hope you enjoyed listening to my rant! it kind of reminds me of how on inuyasha...the blood is either black or dark, dark brown. its very strange. and in naruto, its like only THAT episode that makes the blood black. its gonna come on in two weeks on toonami and im going to watch in amusement how much theyre going to show. or how good the guys gonna do his voice....my ears might bleed. i dont even know *shrugs* thank GOD for youtube....

in real life when there is a lot of blood it looks black because it's dark red. true fact

Well, in large quantities, blood usually looks so dark it's nearly black. What irritates me are the english voices. SOOOOO EVIL!! Temari-neechan sounds like a valley girl, Kankurou-baka sounds like a gangster, and Gaara sounds like he hates the world (true enough, but in the japanese version, he justs seems more quiet and polite).
Awesome Japanese Version:
Temari: Konoha domeikoku...
Kankurou: ...Suna no....
Gaara: ...shinobi da.
My and my Friend's Expected Idea of the American Version:
Temari: Lyk, OHMIGAWD! Konoha's, lyk, allies!
Kankurou: The Sand, yo....
Gaara: ....shinobi, now piss off.
Lmao.

well i saw it in the manga and the blood look like Gaara exploded some cloth.
this is a lil conversation i had with him:
Me:Gaara what was up with the cloth back there?
Gaara: I had to put it somewhere, the only place it would fit was in my goard.
Me: -_-' oh.... i see
Gaara: YES! people these days think quiling with black is girly!WELL! CRAP ON THEM!
Me: aw, whateve, you still hot!

I hate dubbed(watch subbed, it's better ^_^), but I wonder..I'm in the US and we're at the Gaara's powers episode, and the Canadians are in the 20's. Do they have the same voices or different?
