I actually found this one recipe where you cook the noddles, but dont break them up. You strain them without putting in the seasoning and then drizzle chocolate over them.

What a great subject!

I've had a bad relationship with ramen noodle since I had to live off them when I was poor and since I didn't have any cooking sense or back then, loathed the flavors of the ramen packets and often forgot the ramen cooking on the stove until I returned to ramen noodle melted into glue. *shudder*

This topic and all the great ideas in it has inspired me to give ramen noodle another try!

Of course, ramen with egg (dropped in after the seasoning packet is added in, then stirred so it becomes stringy and cooked) is the standard. I also like to top a bowl of ramen with chopped green onion and sliced hard-boiled egg.

When I'm not going the normal route I like to mix in some room-temperature (or softened) cream cheese to a freshly-drained pot of beef ramen, to kinda make a cheap beef-stroganoff. Also works with sour cream.

I kind of have a thing for fried ramen, though I prefer cellophane noodles when I can get them. You can pretty much do anything with the stuff.

After finishing instant Ramen in cup, you can rinse out the plastic bowl, dry it, then decorate it for a hat xp Sorry, that was all I could think of.

This is a great thread! I never really thought about using them in anything else till now and had to look up other uses in yahoo...hehe There is an actual cookbook called 101 ways to make Ramen Noodles! I did find a website that posted some nice ways to use them called 50 Things to Do with Ramen Noodles that actually post the recipes if anyone is interested.

I've made my own soup stock sometimes fr Ramen, and then I don't and just use the flavor packets. Also Instead of eating them as a soup I've made fried noodles with sweet and sour chicken. It came out really delicious.

This one requires a very broad pan...

What I've been doing lately is splitting the brick in half, laying the halves side by side in the pan, adding just enough water to cook it, and then adding about a handful of thick onion slices and a few small pieces of green pepper to the pan as well.

I haven't done anything else with ramen, other than boil it and eat it with the seasoning and crumble it unboiled and sprinkle it with the seasoning.

Mmm, the one with the egg sounds really good. I shall have to try that. biggrin
