Anybody here have family from Wellsville, Utah? I'm hoping to find journals, letters or what have you from my mom's side of the family but for various reasons don't know and can't find who to contact. I thought I'd see if internet networking could turn anything up. smile

phoenix_echo No, I'm sorry, but I wish you the best of luck! Have you tried any websites like ancestry.com ? The problem with the websites I've tried is that they don't list people still living. I can totally understand why but it makes things a bit more difficult. LDSeraphim yeah, do you have Family Tree Maker? it's a REAAALLLYYYY good program. My dad has traced our family back to 120 A.D. to king Hilderic of the Franks! so, i guess htat makes me a princess, right? I don't have Family Tree Maker. I use Personal Ancestral File. Nice to meet you, Princess LDSeraphim. I don't know that I have royalty in my family tree but I do know there's polygamy in there. smile

Okay, start looking in Social Security databases, then. They help a lot, so I've heard, and I plan on using them to help me find my biological father. That's all the royalty I have, that I can think of at the moment, and she was more like a servant, haha!

Well at least it proves you have nobility in your lineage! Ladies-in-waiting came from aristocratic families. Being a lady-in-waiting was either a reward for you or your family or a way to keep an eye on a potential trouble-maker and have a handy hostage if the "potential" became "actual."

I have vikings on that side, too. However, that's just my last name -- my actual blood line does not include Norwegian. I'm part English, Irish, Scotish, German, and Italian. I have family who probably fought the Saxons (heck, I probably have Saxon blood in me), I have Mafiosa relatives still living in Sicilia, and I probably had a Nazi in there, somewhere, too. I tell that to people, and they back away from me, very slowly ^-^

I work for Ancestry.com (btw, MyFamily, Inc. owns Ancestry.com, Genealogy.com, the Family Tree Maker, and MyFamily.com websites) and while I am still learning, feel free to ask stuff about those.

Neato! Thank you for speaking up. smile [Edit] Actually, now that I think of it, I have a question. The court house with my father's families records burned down twice. My mother says she's checked everywhere, including the Library of Congress but she can't find anything. Can you suggest anything?
