I'm half and half i guess. I play rhythm in a band cos the lead guy is the dogs b*ll*cks. He's 13 too. I like both, leaning more towards rhythm.

Spade Sanosuke Depends on the song for me. Im half and half. Yeah, I agree. I wouldn't like doing rthym the whole time..it'll get horrible after awhile.

I like both rythm and lead, BUT I have alot of fun and prefer playing rythm. I just love creating great rythms while singing.

AshWufei Xenin I like both really, th eonly problem is that my lead playing spounds bluesy all the times, damn I need to learn more scales. Same problem I have. I don't do alot of modal playnig, so my solos so9und great when backed by classic rock-type rythm, but now that I'm getting into metal it sounds really out of place. Same here, but what i do is i play lead for Santana-type, and blues songs and for metal I mostly do rythm, but i try to do more technique than shredding, more bends and some wah too.

lavinia_GD I've always wondered what's the difference between rythm and lead? surprised
it is different to some people. i always classified rhythm guitar as the melody holder almost. to keep the basic parts of the song going while the lead guitar player adds more intricate things to it. i always kinda refer to a band like a house. the bass and drums are the foundation, the rhythm guitar is the framework and the lead guitar and vox are there to makes it look (or sound in this case) better.

So lead is the interior... I like both...

Wow, interesting analogy solsthiem. Both rhythm and lead can be fun. Rhythm is alot more fun when you're singing, though!
I think it's good to have a mix between rhythm and lead sometimes in a song.
