Being small had its advantages for Christmas. Being beyond the age of believing in Christmas Miracles and Santa Claus, even more.

As the D'Liriel household busily prepared for the holidays, Shoyu helped out where she could-- she'd climbed the Christmas tree to help adjust the star or some ornaments, she'd hung tinsel on the branches, she'd helped bake to the best of her tiny ability when it came to making cookies for Santa, and she'd been just genuinely full of Christmas spirit.

Who could help being cheerful during a time so filled with love and giving?

Each member of the family did their part-- Cera and Sagitta even stopped by to help out with the decorations, Sagitta able to scramble up on the roof like no other under the watchful eye of her older sister. Shoyu still marveled at how the girl determined to wear so little clothing even as it started snowing outside.

The little teenager was now hanging tiny snowflakes from every available surface, accompanied by Viki, who was-- as usual-- quite chatty,
"I asked for a lot of things," the older girl assured Shoyu, "But, they're all little things and I don't expect Mom to really give me them -all-. I just figured it'd be good for her to have a nice long list to choose from, y'know? What did you ask for?"

The tiny girl blushed, shaking her head,
"I didn't...I mean..well, I didn't really ask for anything. I don't feel...right about it."

Viki's eyes widened, "But! That's the point of Christmas! Mom likes to give out gifts. You should see her face...you slept through it last year and mom wasn't sure what you'd like anyways, but you've got to let her know what you want this year! I'm sure she's in a panick about it."

Shoyu blinked, biting her teeny lip,
"I wouldn't want her to worry about it..." she would -love- to get a few new clothes-- doll's clothes tended to fit her rather nicely, she could see if Viki would take her to the store to pick some things out to put on a list for their mother,
"If you're sure..."

The girl nodded,
"Oh! I'm sure. Celes didn't give her a list last year and ended up with a lot of socks and underwear mostly. And a sword, 'cause Mom knew she'd want one of those, though I don't think it was one Celes wanted. But Celes got nice stuff from Rufus anyways, so, she wasn't too disappointed. But yeah! Definitely if there's stuff you want you should tell her!"

She hung the last little snowflake and nodded delicately,
"Then, if you wouldn't mind taking me to the store...?"

"ALLRIGHT!" Viki pumped a fist into the air,
"Of course I'll take you! I looooooove shopping!"
