I have found a lot of errors in this post, that I think lower your credibility A LOT. Here, let me show you... Mr.Chipmunk Thanks you guys, I guess it's just the way I've been treated my whole life. My family doesn't really understand my way of life and last time I tried to say somthing about it I got grounded! Okay, what exactly is your way of life? Breathing air? Wheter you like it or not, we pretty much all live the same way, and trying to explain to your parents how "different" you are really doesn't seem like a very effective strategy. Quote: I thought that was dumb as hell. I feel like an outsider and such. But, then again, I have been a bit strange for most of my life. -_- On occasion I do dress somewhat Loli and I get alot of remarks and stuff. Since kindergarten, people thought I was weird and never really talked to me because even then I was all about the Anime and Difference.. Okay, why was difference capitalized? And because me and you are about the same age, that means we were in kindergarten before 2000. I hate to say this, but before the 2000's anime wasn't popular like it is in the U.S. today. And when you are in kindergarten no one thinks anyone is weird. Children like that really don't care. Quote: Then After my 'Halloween Party Incident' [Let's just say I was invited and the only one therei n a costume, it was okay untill all the 10th grade boys decided to dump the punch bowl on me, tripped me and then ripped the skirt off of my Ultra expensive Loli dress I had saved up to buy..Then everything went sorta bad.] Everyone started calling me horrible things and I guess I never really got over it. Okay, that last paragraph was the part that REALLY annoyed me. Why in the hell did you go to that party if it was just a bunch of jocks and people who aren't "different" like you, and who would obviously call you evil names. Second, why did you wear lolita clothing as a costume? It's not meant to be a costume and if that is what you consider it, I don't think this style is for you. And lastly here, how were you even wearing an "ultra expensive loli dress" if you said your parents wouldn't let you dress "abnormally" I am sure you couldn't have secretly ordered a Metamorphose dress and have this box show up at your house without anyone questioning it. Then again, if you are talking about the dress they sold at hot topic, which I believe was about $50.00, you should not consider that ULTRA expensive, infact, if you look at most REAL Lolita stores, you would be able to buy four or perhaps five of those Hot Topic dresses for the price of one dress from Moi-meme-Moite.
Quote: I should though, It'd probably make things a s**t load better. Atleast I'm the only original person in my city..>>;; That makes me feel a bit better. And why the hell am I still going on about this?! Dammit, that felt good. ^__^ What happened to your 8 friends? Aren't they original? And how do you know you are the only original one? You should make an effort to make friends with people. You may never know if they share your...um...veiws.
Yeah, I know that was probably too critical, but I couldn't help myself.

I'm debating on the same thing! I'm 13 (going into 8th next year), and every except (about literally) 4 people is preppy (not to steriotype, just... steriotyping is easy so I am doing it) or just... so hyper that they are unpleasant to be around. I haven't worn lolita yet, so I will just have to see if I start! But I am sad, becasue there was an 8th grader who actually knew quite a bit about lolita and she is leaving next year and I never even got to know her and will probably never see her again... *sigh* but I will have fun. Maybe I'll wait a year and not start 'til high school. ANYWAY, I think you should go for it and start being a lolita, even if your mom doesn't support you. I am sure that you will find a way!

How can you expect people to accept they way you dress and act, when you show disrespect towards the way they dress or act. They have a reason to dress preppy or punk, just as you have ar reason to dress lolita. Your way might be the right way for you, but that does not mean your way is the right way for everyone else.
Simply ask your Mom if you can go shopping with her next time, so you can pick out clothes you both like. If you see something she will not buy you, then save your allowence/babysitting/Christmas/Birthday money if it means that much to you. It will be tough at first, but it gets easier. Just think, in 3 years you can get a job and earn money so that you will not have to depend on your mother for clothes. I am 16 and am pretty self-reliant for clothes, cosmetics, movies ect.

Yeah, I know that was probably too critical, but I couldn't help myself. I almost did the same thing as you metalmouth -__-;;; Another point, Lolita is exactly original. Sure you may look original to people where you live, but you really just got the style of someone else. Sure you can do things to make it your own, but still Lolita isn't original, we've adopted this style from others.

Yeah, I know that was probably too critical, but I couldn't help myself. A crucial point of being a lolita is being polite and all around a rather pleasant person. If you have such negativity and arrogance within you, you should really try to fix that, if you want to become more lolita. It doesn't mean being snobby and acting like you're better than others. People choose to dress certain ways for a reason, Just like you want to dress lolita... so how does that make you any different? You're still young, and you have lots of growing to do, so maybe you should just learn to be more YOURSELF rather than lolita.

eristell_neko If I were you, I'd just say to mom 'well, at least I'm not dressing in some skimpy, barely there, trailer trash, hooker on a corner outfit with my butt cleavage showing to the whole world and looking like I've been with at least fifty guys in the past four days." But... That's just me... As for your mom being pissed about the skirt getting riped.. Well.. I'd be pissed too if a vinatge skirt got ripped. But not that pissed. And I'm sure you can find some way to fix it. If you pm me a pic of the tear I might be able to help you. I've done that xd My mommy hates lolita too emo I do it anyway though! My friends say it's weird, but that's okay too. I like it and that's all that matters 4laugh If you like it, go ahead!
I was used to being a loner because I was different (I'm quiet, shy, chubby cry and very artsy fartsy. Last year EVERONE in my grade was loud, preppy and obnoxious xp ) and people made fun of me non stop, especially because I'm shy and I usually won't fight back. But then I made some friends who like me for me! Now their opinions are the only ones that matter because we love eachother like sisters and would never say anything mean just to hurt the other person's feelings.
