She found him a little intimidating as he was rather large but she trusted him. Getting up she walked over to him and listened to what he was saying intently. At least he was nice!

Looking he saw she was indeed following him, this inwardly made him happy. Entending out his large claws he went to the side of the tree, and started to scrape at it. "This is a good way to sharpen your claws... the harder the bark, the faster they get sharper." Retracting them once again Kini moved aside, for her to try.

She crawled up to the tree, her claws out she clung to the tree and then started to scratch at it, bits of bark flaking off. She continued though to scratch at the bark till a bit fell into her eyes, then she let out a small squeak and hid behind the other.

shes so CUUTE ;;!))
He watched her learn to sharpen her claws until the peice flew into her eyes. Giving a bit of a grimence, he understood her pain. Turning around he shook his head. "Guess i shoulda warned yah... thebark sometimes does that. Dont worry it doesnt happen often. Maybe sharpen your claws with your eyes closed when you start." Moving around behind her again he nudged Alana forward with his nose. "Try again..."

She squeaked as he nudged her foreward. Hissing slightly, she pounced on the bark and started to rip it apart with her eyes kept tightly shut. She sent bark flying everywhere in most directions before she jumped off again and hid behind Kini's fore paws, hissing at the bark. It wouldn't try and attack her again that was for sure!

Inwardly the male laughed at the young ones attempts, it was cute to see someone else try it. Wow, he thought moving his head to one side before a peice of bark hit him. She was really getting into it. Looking down at the other as she hid behind him he faintly laughed. "Ok, lets see how sharp those claws are now.
Moving towards a hard patch of earth, and i mean.. REALLY hard, he put his paw on it. "Stick out your claws, and see if they go into the earth swiftly and easily." Demonstrating how easy they go into the earth when they where sharp, he pulled his claws out.. leaving 4 well defined holes.

She trotted over to him and looked at the earth wondering if her claws were as sharp as his. She raised her paw before putting it to the ground, her claws went in fine but then they seemed to get a little stuck when it came to getting them out! She let out a little snarl and cry as she wiggled about, eventually they came out leave several messy holes. The earth obviously didn't like her either!

The feline watched as her claws seemed to go in just fine, but comming out... that was another story. He was just about to help when she seemed to get it. "When you pull your claws out keep your paws loose, dont tense them up or youll start digging and youll need more force." He mused.
Looking around he found a tree with a low enough branch, indicating to follow he leaped up onto it, it was too high for her small body to reach by jumping. "Now... Run at the tree and pounce it, claws out. Make sure when here you DO tense up your feet, so youll stay clung. Then relaxing one paw at a time reach up and climb." Kini flopped onto the branch, his tail waved back and forth as it apeared over the limb.

The youngster watched and listened. As the dark leopard left to find himself a branch she had no choice but to follow, after all she was vunerable down on the floor of the jungle. With a little snarl, she made herself feel angry before rushing at the tree, she took a flying leap and ended up clinging to the tree. "Er.. now what?" She whispered, not daring to move!

"Good! Now, keep your left front paw and hind paws tight, but loosen your right front. Take it out of the tree, and reach up and smack your paw against the tree, digging your claws in and clinging. Do the same with your left front paw, and right hind paw next. Do it in order so you should start to climb." Leaping gracefully down he stood behind her incase she fell he could catch her.

She stood where she was for ages, just hanging. She then attempted to move one paw with her eyes firmly shut. It found a place where she dug her claws in though it wasn't that far from where the paw had originally been!
Gulping she moved a bit more and slowly, ever so slowly she found herself climbing!

Sitting on his rump he nodded and cheered the cub on, she was climbing! "Thats it!" He said in a incouraging tone, yes she was taking it slow.. but she was still doing it. "Dont worry about speed, it'l come with time"

She continued to climb, trying to get a little faster, after all, if something tried to eat her she had to get up a tree quickly, not slowly!! "I want to go faster!!!!!" She mumbled and continued to climb as much as she could.

"Dont go too high cause remember your gonna also have to come down!" He said as she climbed higher, if she went too high up he would have to fetch her. "Speed will come with time." He muttered a second time. "And... i can protect you."

The young leopard cub listened and the first branch she came to she clambered onto, making alot of noise as she did so. "How am I gonna get down then? Its scary!" She pratically squeaked the word 'scary' as for her it really was rather high!
