I'm curious...why is it that almost every person on the planet has an innate fear of their parents? This question came to mind, oddly enough, while I was playing Devil May Cry 3. I'd just barely finished off a horde of demons while playing in Dante Must Die mode. In a more realistic situation, surely more than enough to strike fear into the hearts of a normal, sane person. Hell, I was a bit paranoid when I saw them all appear and them turn on their Devil Triggers. xd It was nothing compared to the feeling that hit me, though, when my mom called me with that tone of voice that just seethes, saying "You're in trouble now, mister!!" I was like "OMG, NO!!" gonk Then, I found out I wasn't in any trouble. She was just a bit miffed because of something else that happened. xd Still, scared me shitless. xd There was even one occasion a long time ago where a friend of mine fought four people at once. Wasn't scared in the least, but when he got home, suspended and all, and his mom gave him threats of "Beating his a**.", he outright bawled. So, yeah, why is that? Share your thoughts, cause this is something that has me baffled. sweatdrop And yes, Ruffin, I stole your Poll and Poll Options. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, after all. xd

Hmmm...well, I guess it would have something to do with the impounding of your parent's superior authority from a young age. We're reading this book in class right now, "The Lottery Rose", which is a novel about child abuse. Ever since the main character was little, his mom had been telling him that her boyfriend would kill him if he ever told, and so he naturally screams whenever he so much as sees said boyfriend. It's a really sad story, actually. crying But you see my point? P.S. Kei, I've been scared less by my parents before as well. YOu are by no means unique in that respect. sweatdrop

I know what you are talking about but for me happened long time ago. No matter with my mother, she don't complain with me. I and mama are good friends. I never had this kind of FEAR but my cousin had and I saw why... so I understand your point.

Well..I'm not afraid of no man, I mean I'll frekin bash a kid out and everything but when my mom goes to bash me out, I cower like a frekin mouse in a corner who's about to be eaten. Moms have the power and the use it...she always threatens me about taking my PSP, iPod, Computer, PS2, GC if I don't get decent grades

First off, everyone knows you DON'T MESS WITH MAMA xd
Second, you DON'T TALK BACK TO MAMA xd
Third, MAMA IS ALWAYS RIGHT xd

Anyways, my mother is pretty hard core when it comes to trying to make a life for myself. Not that there's anything wrong, but the nagging is such a pain. What's worse, I tried to explain to mom once what I was doing, man, bad idea. Not to say that mom was wrong, but well....Never mind, I won't go there xd Even now, I have a life of my own and she is TOTALLY trying to get me hitched with someone. What's up with this? I mean, don't get me wrong, I would love to one day find a lady and settle down, but what's with the push of getting hitched now? Is she that desprate to be a grandmother or something? (Again, nothing wrong with that, but man, you can't hurry love)
Plus, before I was raedy for college, my mom has tried to get me to a college of HER choice, like I didn't have the choice to begin with. (Hey, you know mom's, they want a doctor or lawyer in the family) I sorta went a different path, took courses here and there. One point I had to stand up to mom and tell her I was going to do something else. This fraeked me out because when you go against mom, this is not always a good thing. I told her I was going to major in movie directing and broadcasting. I was expecting a lecture and a half. Instead, she looks at me (This is when I started to tremble) and then BEAR HUGS ME TO DEATH! I was freaking out, I was worried she had taken Wrestling lessons or something, but to my surprise, she actually liked the idea because she had told me I was always creative and it would be a great move for me. At this point, I was FINALLY relaxed. As of now, I know how to make 3D objects and know about how they make special effects and how the special effects work in movies. Mom's never been happier with me since then. biggrin

Trully mamas are always complaing with you cause they know thing that we don't and sometimes theaten is the only way they found to make us do what they are saying to do, even if we don't understand why. So stoling CooperTeam's words, "She is always right". When I realized this my mama nevermore complained with me.
Trully mamas just want us to don't pass for what they have passed. You know that she loves you and won't tell you anything that was not for your good or would make you suffer, even if she do a mistake she had the best intention.
So don't miss the chance to say to the person that loves you more than anything else in the world. Say "I love you" to your mama and always try to be sincere with her.

I can understand Step parents since... 1.) They don't know squat about you... 2.) They try to get along, but some cases, they just make the situation worse... 3.) Even if you explain to them that you really don't like them, they seem bound and determined to really ANNOY THE &|$$ OUT OF YOU!!! xd
