A smile came on Marshall's face as he took the seat adjacent from her. He found the irony that she was having a salad while he had a plate full of deserts, but he didn't feel the need to mention it.
"Well...I'm, um, glad that you're not mad...But, um...I still feel like I should make it up to you." he said, popping a cookie into his mouth. He chewed on it for a few moments before swallowing, lost in thought.

Tucking her dress under her, she sat back down infront of her meal. "I could never be mad at you or anyone else." Although, in the back of her mind, she was mad at the island and for being taken.
Crunching on a leafy green piece of spinach gave Iona time to think of something to talk about. It wasn't every day you got to sit down and have a meal with someone so....charming.
"How are the cookies here?" she inquired after finishing the mouthful. The last time she had cookies was when Matilda baked a batch on Christmas.

"Hmm...Well they ain't the best...But they're okay." he said. Actually, he had eaten these cookies on many occasions, and truth be told they were not very good, obviously made on a conveyer belt in some dingy factory before being shoved into plastic packaging. But some how, now, as he sat across from this young woman...They tasted pretty damn good.
Marshall then nervously cleared his throat, before asking Iona a rather long-winded and difficult question:
"Um, Iona? I, was, um...Wondering...You see, on Sunday I usually watch the sunrise on the beach, and um, watch it set from the cliffs. I know its pretty cheesy but, um, I've been doing it for a while..So, I was wondering if perhaps you'd like to...Join...me? Tonight? I'll, um...Pack a dinner or some thing..."
Thats right. Marshall finally asked Iona (or any one for that matter) out on a date.

"Maybe I will eat a couple to see how they are. Thank you for telling me." She smiled innocently. Maybe they would have cheese cake up a the dessert bar. That was one of her favorite sweets next to flan.
Iona zoned out, thinking about delicious piles of cake, till she heard him clearing his throat. She looked at him, wondering if anything was the matter.
"To see a sunset? From the cliffs?" It wouldn't be that difficult of a climb and it would all be worth it in the end. "I would love to go see it with you. If it was as lovely this morning, it will surely be lovely this evening." Iona was totally oblivious to the true nature of the invitation.

"R-Really?! You'll go with me?!" Marshall said, a look of excitement passing on his face. "Erm, uh..." he said, cheeks a slight crimson, as he was obviously embarassed by his outburst.
"Erm, I'm, um...Glad you said that...'Cause I've been wanting to ask you for a while...Been putting it off, y'know?" he said, rubbing the back of his neck. Actually, he was afraid of her rejecting him, but why share this little bit of information?

"Yes, Marshall, I will go with you to see the sunset." She said again to reassure him, with a smile, and cleaned off the rest of her plate. "As long as you're happy." Another peaceful smile on her face.
"When would you like to go? Sometime around six perhaps?" She said this as she went to put the dirty china away for the lunch lady to clean. "Or, we could head out earlier if you like."
