My first contact with elves was LOTR. I also get my inspiration from some anime and other mystical stories, but the way I draw elven people is based on Tolkien's elves.

I have no clue, but I love nature and these were one of the few mystical nature creatures I could find. Besides, I tend to like fantasy evry now and then.

Rogue Dragon Minus the pointed ears and the no facial hair thing, I match them phisically. Tall, lean, stronger than I look, almost never sick, maybe not as gracful, can walk silently, great hearing and sight... Ya, well that and the fact the I am inteligent and usually wiser than my peers, I find I am quite similar to the normal description. I'm not bragging. It's just what caught my interest so much that I have elven characters. Personally, I'd say that I'm more like a half-elf than a full blood elf. sweatdrop You asked. Lucky! gonk I'm more like a tall hobbit. I love food, I'm a little pudgy and I'm usually merry when around friends, not to mention I'm lazy as all get-out. gonk

Because I made them of course! ^_^
(actually I was first into drow, from D&D and a friend of mine getting me into them. Then I REALLY got into elves after learning more about them)

My first introduction to elves I cannot remember what it was, the earliest I can remember is WarCraft.

I don't really know too but I think it was "Elfentanz" by Wolfgang Hohlbein when I was 10 or 11 years old or something. but I think I've always been interested in old myths containing elves, fairies, leprechauns and such things.... now I am 18 and still love all these things.....
oh and half a year ago I started to play the dark eye (pen and paper) << *points on her gaia avi* XD

I usually get at least a few people a year telling me that I look like an elf because I'm tall-ish with long lines, more on the thin side, etc. plus long hair and the eyes, cheekbones, and mouth. I'm no genius but I am more intelligent than the average person and I'm often told that I have wonderful insight and such. I've had people tell me that I look like Arwen and Galadriel from the LOTR movies (perhaps a combination of the two in my opinion). I think that when people like fantasy creatures/beings, they tend to subconsciously like the ones that they resemble the most (not in all cases, but most).
