The real key to success in the first Dark Cloud, I've found, lies within fishing to get gemstones. If you use those things to upgrade your weapons, you'll be able to get them reeeeeeeally powerful reeeeeeeeally fast. I maxed out Osmond's gun that way while I was still on the moon. The best fish is in the oasis in Ungaga's village, I've heard. I think you need a poison apple to get it, but I'm not 100% sure.
I'm stuck on the "Goodbye Shingala" mission in the second game. Stupid level seals...

I have both and I've beat both of them 100%, secret dungeons included smile
Did you know that in the first game, if you turn the unbreakable weapon (Dagger) into a synthsphere, you'll have a dagger and a synthsphere? It's really handy in the first dungeon.
Put the sun gem on a x2 spot. *salivates* The sun gem is totally badass! You take the candy from either the fat guy or the guy in the shell, give it to the guy whose sister won't come down (Bunbuku? Forgot his name...), then in Queens give the leaf to the basker, then give the girly man in muska racka the foundation, then take THAT and give it to the moon person who collects rare items. The sun adds everything to your weapon... and I mean everything.
Chronicle Sword 2! Muahahaha!!
In number 2, collect 40 medals and get a name-change ticket. Use that on one of your crappy weapons and change the name to an ultimate weapon, like Supernova. It'll change into that weapon.

I like Dark Cloud 2 better. I got stuck at the part with the fat guy in the first one because he was so slow. So I quit. And I find the final boss part on DC2 extremely tedious.

I think part 2 was alot better over all, but at the time part one was kickass also.

I need to get the first one, but I've almost beat the second 100%. My favorite aspect is making the towns - it's fun to get everything absolutely perfect so the future thrives. 3nodding

I loved them both,i played them for hours. i still do,when im not playing something else. my favorite games switch by week.
