Just an addition to that ^_^
Treaty of Tripoli, Article 11: Written during the Administration of George Washington and signed into law by John Adams

The government of the United States is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion.

Hate to have to tell you this, but you only have as many rights as the government is willing to allow.

At any time, if enough people within the government as a whole decide to "get the job done", they can overturn any part/ammendment of the constitution.

Sure, the peopel can b***h and whine and moan about it, but let's think about this realistically, shall we?

How many civilians is it going to require to take down one trained soldier?

Good luck getting them to actually CARE.
