Poultrygeist (15) : As Destiny City is a bustling metropolis, it’s not unexpected that there should be some strange animals running the streets. Sometimes it’s a tiger, sometimes a monkey, sometimes a chicken. Sometimes it’s something worse. Strange egg clusters have appeared in Destiny City’s parks and officials aren’t really sure what they are; these eggs have nothing inside of them. Though it’s an anomaly, they are chalking it up to teenaged pranks. However, they have advised to just leave the eggs as they are. Nobody wants to say why, but if you’re out late at night, you’ll find out. In the darkness, whispered between the sounds of the city: a guttural, rasping cluck. The creature stands on stilt-like legs, rooted to the ground with razor-sharp talons. It wears a cloak of long, oily feathers that drag on the ground with a sinister scraping. If you stare into the darkness, piercing red eyes stare back at you. That’s all it takes for a confrontation: a mangled bird, maybe a chicken in another life, comes barreling out at you. It stands easily as tall as a person, but the proportions are all wrong. The smell of sulfur follows it as it lunges, pecking and screaming and scratching as it attempts to chase you away. Maybe, from the nests full of empty eggs. The battles are fierce, but fleeting; it will viciously try to chase you away but the effects are always the same: at some point, the eggs are crushed. As always, there’s nothing inside of them, but with one final wail, the bird will vanish into a plume of foul smoke.
Note: If you choose to encounter one of these bird-like creatures, your character will recognize they are not youma. It is impossible to tell if it is a single entity or if there are many. The bird does not seem to understand or care to listen to human words. It will always disappear in a malodorous plume of smoke and leave nothing but a foul odor and a clutch of empty, broken eggs behind. This RP can be used as a battle requirement as long as there are two powered characters involved; you must be interacting with another player’s powered character. This does not count as the one youma battle per stage for growth so characters can still use an NPC youma battle as well as this one for growth purposes. This can only be used as a battle requirement once per character, but there is no limitation for how many times a player can use this prompt.
Growing up spending copious amounts of time on a farm had left Aruna fairly used to angry poultry. She had been chased by a turkey the size of her as a small child, had been pecked at by countless chickens, and had gotten used to just avoiding birds in general. Nothing, however, could have ever prepared her for tonight; the event that would solidify her suspicion that poultry was, in fact, a thing of evil.
It started out as a normal patrol. All quiet, all calm, no big bad evil magical people to deal with. Aruna was finally starting to let herself relax as it wound down. And that was her first mistake. Passing by an empty alleyway, she heard it. That strange rasping sound like a haunted cluck. Freezing mid-step, her eyes slowly drifted over to the dark opening of the alley, praying nothing was looking back at her. God. She really didn't need the demon chickens Mason told her about to cross her path. She really did not want to deal with that nonsense. Especially not alone.

The entrance to the alleyway did not long remain empty, from it soon swooped a flash of black poured over green, three long, slender beaks, a tail fanning to barely slow the speed of the large toddler sized tribis. The slender necked creature clutching a singular, smashed egg between clawed feet. The egg dribbled with empty contents splatting along behind the creatures path—
Echoing after the creature in fleeing flight were obvious shouts of annoyance, a man in the alley cursing the creature as a coward. Before some greater noise started up in earnest.
There was more than the voice of a man now—
The echo of metallic spikes scaling along crumbling walls, ominous clucking amped to roaring roostelry screams, the sounds of honest to gods fighting. Chicken versus man, but now it sounded closer, loud—
Albite was uncaring of who remained outside the exit of the alley, he burst through it in a wave of jangling dreads, barely escaping the snap of a monstrous beak nearly a head taller than he was in heels!!
“The ******** do seven foot monster chickens even come from?!!? Alley chickens— laying alley eggs — Cerbs you a**, get back here!!” and he was hit with the wall of Etenral Order Aura in the most ‘oh hai mark’ way — his eyes lighting over the girl, full of sudden ideas, an instant before —
“Binding Retribution!!” And he barely had space to yank her towards him, not that it mattered whether he was able to get her close, so long as be could throw her in the path of the newest feature of his own personal nightmare fodder!
A three headed chicken. A three headed chicken!? What the hell was this city even on!? A Hell Mouth like in Buffy??? Aruna stood frozen to the spot as her poor brain tried to understand the utter monstrosity that was coming towards her. It hit her belatedly that there was someone, someone decidedly NOT Order, behind the massive creature, but it was too late for her to react properly.
With a yelp, the Eternal Senshi felt herself being yanked. "s**t!" A rare expletive from the girl, but she felt the situation warranted it as her feet left the ground. Trying to brace herself, she felt herself smash against what she could only describe as a "solid wall of himbo" later. "What the hell???" She looked up at him with a positively bewildered expression as she tried to regain her footing, keeping the chicken monster in the corner of her vision. "I was going to try attacking it! Are you nuts?" Right now, it was a lot less about the fact he was the enemy and much more about the fact they were now on the same side of the giant fowl.
Looking at the creature again, she grit her teeth. This was probably going to take a lot more than just a basic attack, but starting out small was best she figured. "Rocky Sweep!" Her foot stomped hard on the ground and a wave of ethereal landslide swept towards the monster, though it seemed to do little more than make it pause.... and possibly piss it off. "Well.....s**t."

That was decidedly not the plan! “<********>!” As she failed to trip up chicken’zilla and bounced into him instead, Albite was cursing his own luck under his breath as the creature whipped around, and the Order Senshi half all over him started to speak.
“Naw, hey! You go on and have at it — girl power — ladies first — best of luck to ya!“ Hands suddenly up, very much not touching, trying instead to shuffle away. His encouragement fading fast as Order Senshi did something…..
To piss the foul, fowl off “—tell me that’s not all you got…” He uttered plaintively from just behind her, giving her a look like he expected more, and quickly!
As the man tried to shirk away, Aruna reached up on instinct and grabbed his wrist with a surprisingly firm grip from such a tiny girl. "You saw it first, you can stay and help." She scowled at the massive chicken, muttering under her breath. "I always knew chickens were evil but this is ridiculous..."
Pale brown eyes assessed the situation again, glancing over the chicken before launching another attack. "Raging Slide!" A much stronger landslide swept towards the monster, this time making it seem to stumble backwards. She seemed just the slightest bit relieved that the creature was actually affected this time. Looking over her shoulder, she addressed the man. "Got anything in your magic that might help?" She didn't want to waste all of her magic. Not yet. Especially not if the person with her might be able to do some damage as well.

"Soooo....this is what? Finders keepers rules? Just because I accidentally walk into whatever this city spits out on the yearly, it somehow becomes my job t'kill it...." And maybe it'd been his fault for pissing the creature off? Still--- didn't mean he wanted to deal with it like this! The look he gave her as she grabbed him, a barely withheld scowl, as much as he supposed fair and fair was fair alike! He didn't like being ordered about by anyone, not even in roundabout or halfways passive manner. Of all the people that could tell him what to do -- of all the moods he was in -- and he was going to slowly pluck and roast Cerbs the second he got home!
If ever I get my hands on that egg snatching brat that'd started all this!
Sighing in a disgruntled manner as he watched her work, the city ground before them going all sloshy as a mudbound slip n' slide under the creatures clawed, chicken feet. He counted, a rarity, an old lesson so very kindly taught and he so very ********' rarely cared about seconds---
Except in a situation like this---
'The ******** had Cerbs been thinking -- three heads -- not one single thought -- comes by it godamned honestly I guess. The tribis fruit fell real close to the shrubbery with that one.'
"Yanno? I might have something---" Sounding like he had a trick up his sleeve, maybe a monster bound round his throat? Surely! Some powerful sort of skill that'd wipe the screeching, struggling creature off the face of existence. Instead, Albite turned her need to keep him close as backup against her -- humming a laugh as inky tendrils slid off his flesh and wrapped round her nearest limb. As he pulled again-- another amount of feet through the void-space -- to the nearest store-flat roof that overlooked the alley-spilled-sidewalk scene from a 'close enough to watch', yet still 'far enough away' to piss the chicken *all the way off* over losing its prey, distance.
"M'not your pit-dog, pretty. Y'don't get t'tell me to fight for you." He growled as he stared her down, snapping the weak, basic bind once their heels touched pebbly grit and rooftarp.
Aruna rolled her eyes, opening her mouth to retort when she felt herself tossed once again. She yelped as she went flying, managing to get herself into what she was sure Blarney would call a "superhero landing pose" as she touched down.
"What the hell????" Despite her usual soft and gentle voice, she knew full well it could carry when needed. "I wasn't telling you to fight for me. I was saying to fight alongside me! There's a difference, you oversized tattoo'd himbo-" And then it hit her, like a brick to the face.
"Oh my god you're Albite aren't you!" Recognition lit her eyes up. "Blarney described you to me. Said you were an alright guy. Let's.... Once we deal with this Kentucky fried bullshit, we should talk." It was a long shot, but she hoped that going out on this limb would pay off. "I want to help you find Faustite." She hoped that would be enough to convince him to at least stop throwing her around like a sad little rag doll and maybe cooperate.

‘At your service—‘ and the words nearly fell from his mouth alongside a bow, would've, were he in any other mood on any other night. But how many times had being the ‘nicer guy’ come back to bite him? With Cybele, Albireo? Amsvartnir and Nikki? With Nembus? Cryolite and Fulgurite and — Ohhhhh so many Order and Non-Order shaped others? Time and time and again and —-
‘She has some nerve….’ A thing he liked, encouraged, when it was on the other end of a fist aimed at his face, a knife aimed at his side. In the hands of the bossiest little goose he’d ever imagined meeting! A fight for the fights sake!! And otherwise—
“M’gettin the feelin? That all your concepts about me are — ah — missed…miss read?” He ducked his teeth, gaze flicking between where she stood, the street below, back. “Albite as I am? The ******** should I help you fry up the family sized bucket down there when I could just leave? The hell d’you get off — asking anything of me — when I’ve already done the favor of putting you up here outta whatever harm that thing would’ve done’s way?” He bore his teeth lightly round the thickness of his own feelings, fighting the urge to sigh about the ‘Blarney and Friends’ show going on behind the scenes unbeknownst to him. Till the record labeled Faustite got scratched—
“You know where he is—“ he hissed, his magic writers, two different types of expectant, hungry.
"Because I've been lead to believe you're at least a halfway decent man?" She really didn't have any expectations of him staying to help out of the goodness of his heart or anything, no matter how much Blarney seemed to like the man.
Oh. Perhaps it was the wrong time to have brought up the missing General King. She winced as she watched the about-face of his demeanor, shaking her head. "No. I don't. But I might have connections who might, or could at least point us in the right direction. And I mean us as in you and the rest of those Faustite is important to. He's......precious to someone I care about, which means he's a priority in my eyes."
As she spoke, Aruna continued to watch the giant bird monster warily as it tried to determine the best path to attack them both. "Let's get rid of this thing, and then we can talk, yes? I'm not as good at fighting and being witty as Muri is, after all, and I would rather not end up chicken food." She hoped that would be enough to convince Albite to help out, to not leave her in the lurch.

Albite felt the bite of nails as his fists clenched, released. Tilting his head for the familiar names that pulled him up sharp as a yanked leash and kept him from advancing on her further.
Well isn't that s**t interesting?
Truly it was, and the parts of his heart that were soft for compliments were overshadowed by the rest which wanted to take Blarney; sweet, boundless, boyish, fool! Harmless little Earth Knight! (for now) And shake him by his soft - green - very likely shamrock shaped starseed! Just-- to make a point -- to get a message across -- and see the understanding look in the brunettes eyes when he realized the most important lessons of all when playing these sorts of games with people! Which lines to cross boldly, which instead were meant to be crossed with caution. Which weren't ever meant to be crossed at all -- not if a person wanted to live sans hand in chest and emotionally freed by a kinder, more forgiving darkness than he could ever be made to believe Order offered with all its blinding light.
"If I find out you're using either of their names ********' play me? Pretty." He left the threat simple and open ended, clucked his tongue before sighing over being given yet one more task! Find a starseed, roast a chicken, teach a Page to read Earth Knight text or some bullshit. He was starting to think Order needed a school for their 'not army' to go to!
"The ******** you got your wings without taking on a turkey or two? We're gonna have t'talk about that---" Wary, wary, wary, full of bite and caution. The way he looked at all her colors, all her feathery grace. Feeling like he knew she must've come by it somewhat honestly. Maus were stubborn, beautiful, unknowable things, they didn't hand out power without '******** you' levels of purpose behind it! "After we talk about how exactly you're gonna find Faustite for me. Of course." He said pointedly, while tucking the fossil-looking pendant strung about his throat into his mouth. And into it he bit until it cracked; sucking down the plume of energy that emanated from it in lungfuls that wreathed him in smoky power. His form shifting monstrously --- the sounds emanating from the alley ramping up once more -- concentrated around his presence -- and the fleshy snarl of a creature that stood in Albites place grinned down at the ground-shaking Eternal (as if it could've done anything else).
Before stepping right back down into the chickens space; ******** you energy, come get me aura, loud, obnoxious. The reason the creature was down one egg. It didn't take long for the KFC to turn on him---
Even less time for Albite to answer in kind with lash after lash -- the magic of a flayed tendril reaching out to snap feathers from flanks; instead of dark, starved ribbons made for binding.
When Albite wills it, he is accompanied by the distant and unnerving sounds of a metal tipped skitter-screech. It sounds like an army of rusty blades being improperly unsheathed, the noise married horrifically to the the steady buildup of icepick insect tipped feet careening along a cliff-side. It can be unnerving and unfamiliar, and create a sense of uncertainty and dread. This effect is particularly prominent when Albite is using the Rugose Pendant. An item which has become part of his routine to wear for how often he uses it.
A blackened, wrinkled rock set into a silver pendant with an indigo glow trapped inside. An agent or Negaverse senshi must energy drain the rock. Once drained, the rock will crack and disintegrate. The rock's violet light will then envelop the user, cloaking them in the appearance of a youma. A youma aura will overwhelm the user's natural aura, though it will not disguise their aura. Their youma appearance must adhere to youma guidelines for personal or player youma. The user does not gain any special abilities while under the effects of the item, and their current abilities are not typically hampered by the item. The Rugose Pendant's effects last until the character powers down or until three hours have passed, whichever is sooner. The Pendant may be used once a day.
If it were any other situation, and about anything else, Aruna might have almost been offended. "Murikabushi is someone precious to me, and that's something I would never lie about. I don't play people. That's not the sort of person I am." She didn't blame him for his wariness, however. If it were her, she would have likely felt similarly.
"I worked hard for this power. Can't say I've ever faced down Colonel Sanders' evil stepchild before, but I guess there's a first time for everything in this city."
Oh. Oh. Holy s**t. Aruna watched with wide eyes as Albite transformed, utterly shocked by this development. She was definitely asking someone about this later. For now, however, she would wait for an opening. She definitely wouldn't think too hard on how he just turned into some monster creature, or how it made her blood run just a bit cold. Nope. Definitely not.
Watching carefully, she waited and calculated her chances before darting back down beside Albite, launching her second attack once again. The combination of them working together seemed to do enough, much to Aruna's relief, and the remaining egg cracked. Letting out a sigh of relief, the tension left the senshi's shoulders. "Thank goodness...."

A first time for everything---
The rictus that Albites face had become turned to tilt, with unending grin, a smile in Aruna's direction. Whether there was any true happiness behind it or not was likely all mystery, and besides the point. The way the creature whose skin he'd slipped into seemed to beg a question, rather than exuding glee over the defeated chickeny foe.
I kept my bargain -- now it's your turn -- imbued in the tension of his expectant steps as he moved closer, the intent of bristling, confusing aura aimed at a former enemy ebbing into something more passively questioning.
"Thank goodness n'deed--" teeth meeting teeth clattering over gravel. "--didn't need me--plenty strong. Pretty, with all the answers, eh?" Stilted, like it was awkward to get the words out.
Aruna shuddered at the way Albite's voice sounded. Wrong. Inhuman. The aura she felt from him didn't make sense, wasn't something she was familiar with. Was this something all corrupt senshi and agents could do? Was it just an Albite thing? A cold jolt ran down her body as she thought of Blarney, sweet, fresh, trusting Mason, facing this, whatever it was.
Trying her best to compose herself, she met his gaze evenly. "Aruna. My name is Aruna." Should she hold her hand out to him to shake hands? Should she stay where she was? She felt like she was in over her head here, and while it scared her, she refused to let it show. "I..... While I might not know where Faustite is, I've been looking into it. So far, I don't think any of mine have had anything to do with his disappearing, and I've asked some.... More important people than myself to let me know if they hear anything too." She ran a hand through her hair as she tried to collect her thoughts. Her family would possibly never trust her again if they knew why she was so concerned about what happened to Faustite, but she tried not to think about that right now. "I... Don't want to see anything bad happen to him. It would make someone precious to me very upset if that happened. So I want to do what I can to find him and bring him home safely."
Aruna seemed thoughtful as she sifted through what she knew so far in her head. "If it was any of ours, I feel like the person I asked would have heard at least something in regards to it, but he seemed genuinely surprised when I mentioned Faustite being missing, and he has no reason to lie to me when it comes to this." She thought to Encke's reaction when she had brought it up, deciding firmly that their surprise had been genuine.
"Do you have any leads? If you have anything you need looked into on my side of it all, just say the word and I'll do it. I hate the notion that the side I'm on is complicit in kidnappings.... And had I known what was going on during the incident in the winter, I would have done the same then too. I would have done what I could to get him to safety... Nobody deserves that sort of thing..." Her brows knit together in a frown and she shook her head, falling silent as her mind turned things over and over within.
