As they landed in the common room, Reiki pulled a face. He could’ve sworn that he felt the discontent rustling in the wintry air around him, as if Mirrorspace knew what he was planning and distinctly didn’t appreciate that. Not what Reiki was planning about tonight—which Mirrorspace had never argued with before, even when he’d brought Demeter with him, who was possibly the living person who was least attuned with Mirrorspace—but what Reiki meant to do more generally. Wouldn’t have surprised Reiki if it had. Honestly, how could Mirrorspace not know? It kept demanding face-time with him and he’d been working on this “escape and get where his heart really belonged” project for months, now.
Still. Reiki had to make this as enjoyable as possible for Urania, so he put on the best smile that he could manage. “So, this is Mirrorspace,” he said, feeling a bit like a flight attendant as he gestured around at the different features. “You don’t want to go off down those corridors; they only lead to endless copies of the same whitish-gray hallway.” And okay, sometimes, you could find things in them, but whatever. “You also don’t want to try those big doors over there,” he said, indicating the floor-to-ceiling doors that led to the Black Mirror, “because they won’t open for an Order senshi and a Mirror senshi who’s not Eternal. And anyway, the only thing of interest there is the mirror that Awakens people as Mirror senshi, so you’ll definitely want to stay away from there. Where we’re going……”
Reiki tried to manage some flair as he made a sweeping gesture toward the Golden Mirror. “That one leads to what we call the Mirror City. Honestly, it’s not very much of a city—really just some trees and benches. But it’ll take us to the Citadel, and from there, we can get to my realm, where the lessons can happen.” He returned his hand to his side, ready for her to take it. “If you’re ready, that is?”
