Kit you are trying for: Black/Teal
Fox Name: Zalli, taken from the word 'Quetzalli', the indigenous American word for 'feather' or 'precious thing' in Nahuatl.
Fox gender: Female
Personality: Imaginative
Response:Zalli has always preferred the night.
Ever since she was a little kit - as opposed to now, when she's a
big kit thank you very much - the night has felt safer, softer, and more beautiful than the brash, bright, boring daytime.
She doesn't remember much about her parents; in fact, her earliest memory is of teaching herself how to use her gangly paws to go after some little fluffy creature, because her belly was rumbling and it seemed like the thing that made the most sense.
Most of her life has been like that - guided by instinct and her own desires and needs. When she needs something, she finds a way to get it. When she feels the shiver of anxiety tingle down her spine, Zalli knows better than to ignore her instincts.
That being said, Zalli isn't solely focused on survival. In spite of her dire situation - or perhaps because of it - Zalli is extremely playful and imaginative, able to entertain herself for hours on end, largely because she's had to go without partners or friends to play with. She often spends her nights talking to herself in different voices, alternating between the good guy and the bad guy, chasing herself in circles, or on quieter nights, simply staring up at the stars and telling herself stories about where they all came from.
It was on such a night when she met a scout of the Eventide Tribe. She had unknowingly stumbled onto Tribe territory, and when the scout found her stargazing, they stayed and sat with her.
This, more than anything, was what kept the usual anxiety away. New foxes - especially grownups - often triggered her flight instinct, but this fox was soft, and seemed to share something Zalli knew deep in her heart, but didn't have the words for yet.
When the scout asked if she wanted to go with them to their Tribe, Zalli said yes - once they explained what a Tribe
was, anyway. It's not so different from her old life, except she doesn't worry about her rumbling belly anymore, and best of all, now she has
friends to include in all of her many, many games. Some of the other foxes are a little weird, sure, but Zalli likes weird.
She's never felt so at home before - because this is the first and only home Zalli will ever have.
